Name: Tamber
Goal: defeat all gyms
Age: 12-13

Bit of background: Not many people know much about the strange girl that showed up in town one day. She had enough money to stay in the local inn, and has been seen standing outside the pokecenters and the lab multiple times, though she never goes in. People have attempted to ask her about her family, her home and even tried to get her to stay with them instead of spending her money (or allowance, even) at an inn. She's hardly spoken to anyone, and it's hard to tell what she's thinking as she's never seen without her thick sunglasses. All the info some were able to get from her was her name and her goal: to get all gym badges. Some think of Tamber a thug, others-a runway. Who's to say what's going on behind those thick, reflective lenses?

I'll try to make it! ^^ If that's okay, I'd like to enter with Wally from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire (before he acquired his first Pokemon with help from the main character).

So, I am thinking of a Youtube video where the Pokémon rebel and Squirtle becomes a trainer to Charmander and Bulbasaur. Could I do this (play a Pokemon that wants to be a trainer) or would it be to against what you want as the event host? And, for clarification, I don't anticipate the Pokémon to speak like Meowth in the anime.

Goal: Overcome her fear of Pokémon so that she can be a Nurse Joy someday.
Background: Mary is actually a member of the Joy family. (Yes, the Joy family that all "Nurse Joy" medical specialists belong to.) She has two cousins of the same age, Anna and Meg (Margaret), and two older sisters: Helen and Marnie. Like all Joys, Mary's older sisters are nurses in various Pokémon Centers. Her cousins eagerly look forward to taking on the same role. Mary, however, feels differently.

          Mary has spent her entire life being compared to her sisters and cousins, usually unfavorably. Joys are supposed to be kind, strong, devoted, compassionate, focused, and helpful—traits that help them excel as nurses treating hundreds to thousands of Pokémon every day. Mary is shy, withdrawn, self-centered, and scatterbrained. Scary encounters with wild Pokémon have left her deeply afraid of the creatures—something that makes it difficult to embrace a future as a healer.

          Recently, Mary overheard her mother (a retired Nurse Joy) on the phone with one of her many aunts. They were talking about Anna and Meg beginning apprenticeships at the local Pokémon Center, to start learning how to treat Pokémon. During the conversation where both women expressed how proud and excited they were to have more Joys carrying on the family tradition, Mary's mother paused: "...It's a shame that Mary doesn't seem to be cut out for it. I don't know what to do for a Joy so terrified of Pokémon that she can't be a nurse. The local center didn't want to train her."

          She had known for years that she wasn't typical "Nurse Joy material", but learning that she was turned down for training and might never be a Nurse Joy filled her with dread. Her mother was right: there are no options for a Joy who isn't a nurse. At that moment, she decided that she would have to radically change her life. She decided to secretly embark on a Pokémon adventure as a new trainer, hoping that meeting other new trainers and getting involved in Pokémon battles can help her develop the skills needed to be a nurse someday!

          Mary specifically wears her hair in a different style to hide her Joy heritage, and lies about her last name being "Jones" instead of "Joy".

That's a really cute idea xD Originally, I had thought everyone would be human, but I mean, it's a cute idea and as long as your happy with it, and have an idea of how to portray and communicate yourself amongst the others, that's okay with me! <3

Goal: He's already the most awesome trainer that ever was, duh.
Background: Charmander used to be held by Professor Oak as a starter Pokemon for new trainers. But, Charmander decided humans are stupid and he could be a much better trainer than any human. So, he escaped when a new trainer was deciding which starter Pokemon to pick. But, now, he needs to acquire his first Pokemon and set of Pokeballs, so he's going to join the newest batch of beginner trainers.

Charmander has an inflated ego and already firmly believes he is the best Pokemon trainer. He just needs a bit of time to show all of the humans that his way of training is far superior to their own. His methods are a bit unorthodox and the humans will be in for quite a shock when they get a load of this Pokemon trainer. He is aggressive and blunt and not afraid to fight dirty (as dirty as a tiny lizard can fight). Charmander's native language is Pokemon and he barely understands human, but he's great at charades.

He knows humans are too stupud to understand he is a Pokemon trainer and not a wild Pokemon, so he wears a Pokemon trainer baseball cap on his head. Charmander doesn't have any money, so he had to steal his hat from a child. It is thus smaller than usual and sort of fits his head. It still tends to fall down over his eyes, much to his annoyance.

OMG luna, that is the greatest thing I have ever heard. Your little charmander trainer made this live RP all the more interesting! Can't wait to see how the characters respond to a pokemon receiving a pokemon!

But there's one question I have to know-is the hat a human hat? As in, too big for his precious 'lil head? It's an important detail

Goal: To learn as much as she can about everything, and to collect the cutest pokemon!
Background: Maple is a kindly professor who sticks close to home. She has a reputation of adoring new trainers and has a great fondness for baby pokemon.

And here is my character, which was inspired by our dear Mercury's character, I must admit xD!



Name: Alexandra "Alexa" Jenny
Age: 10
Goal: To become braver
Background: Alexa is part of the "Officer Jenny" family, and growing up, she has always been expected to go on to become an Officer as well. It was expected that, like most girls from the family, she would be raring to go as soon as she could - that she would want to jump on the chance to have an adventure. That her family would have to hold her back until she was of proper age.

But Alexa doesn't want to have an adventure. In fact, the very idea of adventure frightens her. She doesn't want to admit it, but most things tend to frighten her. She's heavily dependent on her family, always sticking close to them or her mother's Growlithe whenever she is outside of their home. Somehow, she's been able to hide her fears from her family - an easy feat when everyone already expects big things from you, and it's easy to hide in such a huge family. Now, Alexa's dreaded day has come. She's 10 years old, the general age when Alexa's go off on their adventures, and her family have turned adoring and expectant eyes towards her.

Rather than tell the truth, Alexa has kept with the lie, pulled up a smile, and told herself it wasn't as wobbly as it felt. She could do this right? She was a Jenny and she would be an officer some day. This won't be so bad. Right?

Lol, it is a child's hat, but still a bit too big. I can't have this little attitude monster taken too seriously, lol.

Alexa stared up at the building. She frowned at it, wishing it to simply disappear. If it was no longer around, then she would never have to go inside. With a small sigh, she glanced over to the others around her, keeping her arms tight to her sides - protective.

When the woman, Professor Maple, exited and said her greeting, Alexa was certain her heart was going to pound out of her chest from how fast it was racing.

In the back of the crowd, a small Pokemon wearing a baseball had stood silently and observed the humans around him. The baseball hat slumped forward on his forehead, so the Pokemon pushed it back to fully reveal Charmander. With a laugh, he puffed his chest with pride and called "Char!" This silly humans had no idea what they would be up against. Being a Pokemon himself, Charmander already was the best trainer that ever was. Who better to train Pokemon than a Pokemon?

Charmander used his tiny paws and small body to push humans aside and weave through the crowd as he made his way toward the front. It was time to get his first Pokemon and set of Pokeballs.

His parents were worrying too much. Sure, his health issues were not exactly insignificant. But he would prove to them, to everyone - and more importantly to himself - that he was strong enough!

Today was the day that his long-awaited adventure would begin!

Wally watched nervously as the doors to the building opened and the professor came out. He felt a bit more confident and at ease by her smile. "Good morning Professor Maple!" he greeted enthusiastically.

Was she excited to receive her first pokemon? She must have been, since her heart was pounding out of her chest. Would it perhaps be the pokemon at the professor's feet? She could get used to a cute bear type.

She tipped the brim of her sports cap back to look up at the building, her messy ponytail sticking through the back of it. It was just like the buildings she saw on TV, the ones in the big city. Nothing like Nuvema Town... She was pulled out of her mild homesickness by a woman in a labcoat exiting the building, and Black nodded back to her with a slight smile.

His face screwed up and he took a few steps away from her, just in case things were about to get messy. He also didn't want to get squished if she keeled over. Geez, how were the humans even supposed to survive without a Pokemon's help?

Tamber found their reactions strange-especially the girl who looked ill. Was it because of the hat? Either way, Tamber found herself walking briskly-almost speedwalking-as soon as the doors to the lab open.

Oh, now she was stalling. Oops. Alexa let out a little sigh, before taking a step forward. There, that was good. Now another. And another.

Black was about to head inside when she realized how young most of these other trainers were. She knew the age limit in her own region was fairly high, but it still felt a little embarrassing, being just as new to everything as they were. And was that... a Charmander? It didn't seem wild by the hat it wore. But the professor seemed okay with it.

Maybe this was just how it was done here? A couple of the others were hesitating, but she followed Tamber without issue.

She didn't want to go in—she wanted to run, get out of here, go shopping, sit at a café—do anything other than interact with Pokémon. But if she didn't actually become a trainer... what could she do? She couldn't go home. Not until she was ready to start training to be a nurse. She had to go in.

Slowly, moving behind the others, looking fixedly at the ground, Mary trudged inside.

Again, Wally did not to be told twice. He examined the room carefully from corner to corner. He looked with awe at all the complicated machines within the lab and... Eggs! Pokemon eggs! Would real Pokemon hatch from them? He ran in front of the display looking at all the different eggs enthusiastically. And then... Pokeballs! Were there Pokemon in them? Was his first Pokemon inside one of them?

This was just so exciting! Wally was ready to start asking a dozen questions in minute, but he did his best to remember his manners.

It had something written about pokemon types and status effects. While this was something she already knew quite a bit about from watching battles and programs on television, she read it quickly as a quick refresher.

Alexa found solace near the bookshelves. She read a couple of the titles, pretending to be deeply engrossed in the topics. It was a nice distraction, and for a moment, she forgot how afraid she was to start this inevitable journey.

Her attention was taken to the small conversation a bit away from her. There was a Charmander here? She loved Charmanders! She took a peek around, and finally spotted him there. Was he one of Maple's pokemon?

He tried to jump a few times, but the humans also blocked his view. With a huff, Charmander growled and stalked over to a less crowded side of the room to observe what was going on.

Black wasn't sure what to expect in this big laboratory, having only seen the much smaller work-space of Professor Juniper back at home, but this was like another world. All those eggs, and then that huge wall of Pokeballs! Her unintentional cool facade she'd been putting up since she arrived was broken in an instant. She remembered enough manners to not run inside, but she was next to the pokeballs in an instant, staring up at them with shimmering eyes. Were they all different Pokemon? She didn't think she even knew that many kinds.

"How'd you get so many of them, Professor?" Black asked, not looking away for an instant.

A human approached Charmander and tried to start a conversation with him. Leaning backwards, Charmander tilted his head to the side. What did it want? "Human human," it said. The little Pokemon pointed to the hat on its head, as if to say it wanted to be a Pokemon trainer, too. Charmander figured the human was trying to figure out why a Pokemon was here.

And not in the Pokeballs.

Tamber heard the small green haired boy speak, and looked up from her reading. The Charmander couldn't seem to reach anything, but he offered to help it look at the eggs. Why a Charmander would be interested in eggs was another story-at least until it pointed to the hat on its head. Tamber put the book back on its shelf and walked over to them, then pointed to the hat on her own head. "Trainer?"

"Do you -- want help -- to -- see?" he spoke slowly, as he crouched down, pretended to pick something up, and rose again, pointing to the direction of the eggs. Would it understand like that?

More humans were approaching Charmander and it put him a little on edge. This was a new situation for him, but he was strong enough to take them all on if need be! But, he definitely needed his Pokemon and Pokeballs, first. Then, he would conquer them all. Noobs. One of the humans pointed to the hat on her head, the same hat that Charmander wore.

Wow, one of the humans understood him! Maybe they were smarter than he thought. Charmander nodded eagerly at Tamber. "Char Char!"

The other human clarified what it was trying to say earlier. It wasn't questioning why Charmander was there, it wanted to help Charmander see the eggs. Charmander turned to this human, Wally, and nodded his head, "Char Char!"

Black was stunned by Professor Maple's claim, but she seemed to take it to heart. Collecting Pokemon wasn't her "goal", but who wouldn't want as many Pokemon as possible? They were all great, weren't they? She turned around and noticed that a couple others weren't nearly as interested in the contents of the lab. Was something wrong? She tilted her head and decided to approach Mary and Alexa.

"Don't you wanna see any Pokemon?" she asked the two younger girls. "You won't be able to see anything way over here."

Wally hoped Charmander had understood what he said when it nodded. He did not like the idea of being burnt to a crisp as he attempted to touch it. Slowly, he crouched down again and picked the Charmander up - it was not the easiest feat for a kid his age, who was not particularly strong as it was anyway, but he managed.

He moved around the room holding the Charmander in front of him - first in front of the eggs, then the Pokeballs. Then he put it back down, smiling at it again.

Tamber stood up, hearing the girl behind her shout. She turned around, to see the girl blushing. There was another girl next to her as well. Why were they over there? Tamber motioned for them to come over here while watching Wally lift the Charmander up and give it a tour of the room. She shot the pair a thumbs up in celebration of their teamwork.

Her safety was broken as she felt something brush up against her elbow, and Alexa jumped, turning to face whatever strange creature had come out from the shadows. Oh, no, it was even worse. It was another person. Granted, Alexa always found herself more comfortable around girls than boys, but strangers were strangers, and she didn't like any of them.

The shade of hair looked familiar though. It reminded her of family, somehow. She couldn't pinpoint the reason for the familiarity, but that one fact made her a little more at ease. She lessened her haste to get far far away.

Another girl approached now though. Oh gosh, they were everywhere. But she put on a smile, and tried to act normal. "Oh um," she started. And then paused, unsure what else to say. "I like pokemon!" Well at least it had been a true statement?

Holy moly! The human was touching him and picking him up! Charmander flinched and was ready to use one of the few attacks he knew, but then remembered a crucial piece of information. The human wanted to help him. Geez, how embarrassing. The little Pokemon's tail drooped as he let his guard down slightly and allowed the human boy to carry him around the room. Wow, things looked different from up here.

And, then, the human set him back down on the ground. Charmander was happy to feel the ground underneath his paws, again. "Charmander," it said, nodding its head at Wally in thanks.

Black blinked in surprise at Mary's visceral reaction, but took it as first day nervousness. Maybe it was her first time away from home too? But she must have been here to get a partner. Strange... At least everyone else was making some sense.

"Don't think so hard about it then. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, right? You should be excited! What's your names?" She remembered being that age and being so disappointed she couldn't get a Pokemon of her own.

The older girl was asking for her name. Alexa focused on that. "My name is Alexa."

Alexa's heart began to race again - strange that it had slowed a little there. She had been so caught up on learning all of the new names that she had forgotten just how frightened she was of continuing forward with this. The Professor began to call for volunteers and she definitely did not want to be the first one, so she was glad that Ember had offered first. She wasn't sure when she'd go, but she hoped to squeak by unseen.

But if she were being honest, the excitement of getting her first pokemon was beginning to outweigh all other troubles.

Usually, Charmander would have charged up and grabbed his Pokemon first, but Professor Maple did make it pretty clear that he would go third. So, he waited, because he wasn't going to get a Pokemon and Pokeballs any other way. He couldn't buy any, after all.

So, Charmander walked forward and, with some help from someone else, picked a Bulbasaur. He had to pick a grass Pokemon, because of elemental affinity. He had to be in charge and a water Pokemon would have an advantage over its trainer. Something similar in terms of fire Pokemon, too. Grass was the way to go.

Wally continued thinking through his options. Back at Hoenn, the first Gym Leader traditionally fought was a specialist in Rock-type Pokemon. If he wanted an easier beginning for his adventure, perhaps it would be best to go for a water pokemon, or a grass-type one.

He was beginning to feel more and more excited, which caused him to get a fit of coughing. Not now, he mentally said to himself. Not again. He turned away from the group for a bit and breathed steadily, hoping they wouldn't notice.

Charmander realized something very important for the first time. He had to let his Pokemon out and walk around naturally. The only place he had to carry a Pokeball in was his two paws and the Pokeball was pretty awkward for a Pokemon without opposing thumbs to hold. He quickly dropped the Pokeball to the ground and clicked it open with his snout.

Charmander thrust his chest out, held his tail high, and waited proudly for his Pokemon to emerge. After the flashing lights dimmed, Bulbasaur looked around expectantly for its trainer. And then... "Who are you?" Bulbasaur asked.

"I'm your trainer! You are going to be the strongest Pokemon that ever was. Get ready to kick human butt!"

Of course, none of the humans heard anything else except "Bulba Bulbasaur?" and excited "Char! Charmander, char!" babbles. Bulbasaur looked confused.

He looked at the Charmander talk to his Bulbasaur. They seemed to understand each other far better than a regular trainer and his pokemon - maybe Charmander actually had the advantage over everyone here!

Black was still making a decision, but three Pokemon were claimed already! She had to narrow this down. All of them were really cool, but at the end of the day, Black couldn't bear to pick something that wasn't from Unova. Oshawott, Snivy, or Tepig...

Being honest, she wasn't the type to fight defensively, so Snivy was out of the question. They didn't mesh well. Oshawott had that awesome shell blade, but even then, it didn't feel like a perfect fit. Maybe she should pick- Black turned to look at Wally as he coughed, snapped out of her deeper than characteristic thinking. He seemed to be okay now, at least. She didn't want to embarrass him by overcrowding him.

Charmander and Bulbasaur were having a spirited discussion. Bulbasaur was very confused by the fact it now had a Pokemon for a trainer. Was that allowed? But, eventually he accepted Charmander as his trainer. Because, well, there wasn't really an option. Charmander was puffed with pride and the flame on his tail burned a bit brighter than usual.

Ember had been excited, but Mary... well, Alexa wasn't sure what Mary was, but excited definitely wasn't the best word to describe it. She felt like she wanted to broach the subject, to learn more, but she couldn't make herself say the words. "Oh," she said eloquently instead.

Bulbasaur and Charmander were still talking when Ember and Piplup approached. Charmander had been eagerly developing a strategy with his Pokemon. The two of them had to hit the ground running, especially because Charmander wanted to be able to defend himself against other trainers. He wanted all the humans to take him seriously and he never wanted a human to mistake him or Bulbasaur as wild Pokemon. And then, Charmander noticed Piplup and its human trainer. "Char?" He questioned.

Excited? The word seemed too strong to describe what she was feeling. Sure, getting a pokemon of her own seemed like a great thing - pokemon were one of the few things that actually made her feel safe - but the acceptance of that pokemon would open the door to so much more. Her heart raced faster. Some Jenny she was turning out to be. How could she ever save people like her family if she couldn't even choose a pokemon?

"Yes!" Alexa blurted out. The word was meant more to convince herself than as an answer to Mary. But the burst of determination had to be used as quickly as possible before it fizzled out - and she didn't have long. Now was her chance, while everyone was distracted. "Um, I'd like to go next, please."

Wait, what, the Pokemon wanted to play now? There was important business to take care of! Charmander hadn't even got his Pokeballs, yet. Nor had he figured out how he was supposed to carry them, so he could capture wild Pokemon. Shoot, his plans were unraveling. He desperately needed something to carry the Pokeballs with or he would be stuck with only one Pokemon.

Bulbasaur looked expectantly at Charmander, who seemed wrapped up in his own thoughts. Charmander waved a clawed paw at the two Pokemon. "Go ahead, but stay where I can see you. I don't want any human to take you."

Charmander's Pokemon smiled and trotted off happily to Piplup.

Black couldn't help but smile as she was handed her started pokemon, and immediately hit the button on the ball to let it out. In a flash of white, a confused Tepig stood in front of her. It snorted and looked around, and Black knelt down to be closer to eye level with it.

"Hey there..." she said, with more tact than she'd probably ever used before in her life. Tepig's eyes fell on her, recognizing the ball in her hand. It snorted again, hesitating. Black held out a hand, and after sniffing at it, Tepig rubbed against it with a grunt. Success! Black petted the pokemon, happy with the fact that it was officially hers.

At hearing her name, Alexa's sudden resolve quickly disappeared. Her shield of everyone being distracted was shattered now that she had been called out by another person. But now the Professor was looking at her, and expecting her to choose a pokemon. To turn back now would draw even more attention onto herself.

Oh gosh, what was she going to do? She tried to move forward, to force herself to go. It took all of her determination to actually move her feet. "Can I choose Totodile, um, please?"

Tamber felt an odd sense of peace, watching the group of pokemon interact over there. She began to pet Poppilo gently, and it began to nod off. Once it was fully asleep, it began to blow tiny bubbles of water out of its nose as it snored away. She couldn't help but giggle. This was her pokemon, after all. She'd have to look after it and make sure there were plenty more restful sleeps for it.

Well, the other girl had done it. She managed to walk up there and select a Pokémon. Mary's mind was still totally blank. As more trainers let their new companions out of the Pokéballs, she felt her discomfort increase. Every nerve of her body wanted to get out of there. There was something safe in a place with so many of the creatures. She couldn't even enjoy Wally's encouragement, as much as it was nice of him.

"W-why don't you go before me," she offered, pressing herself closer to the bookcase.

These humans continued to impress. Charmander cautiously accepted the small pouch that was handed to it. "Charmander," it said in thanks. It investigated it with one clawed paw before wrapping it around its waist. The small Pokemon had to wrap it around his waist a few times, but it fit. Well, sort of, it fit about as well as the hat fit. It wasn't going to fall off, at any rate.

Again, Charmander heard triumphant music playing in the background as he acquired his first item.

She knew that becoming a Pokémon trainer was the purpose of running away from home to come here, but it really wasn't working out the way she may have hoped. She tried to blink back the tears that stung at the corners of her eyes.

"Yes. It's very exciting," she tried to say, but the words caught in her throat.

But there was a Charmander right here. With a Bulbasaur. There were Pokémon literally surrounding her. Tiny creatures with all kinds of abilities. It was like being in the tall grass all over again.

Tamber continued to stroke her new pokemon as she continued to watch the other trainers in the group go up to pick their pokemon. Was it just here, or were some of these trainers afraid? What was there to be afraid of? The pink haired girl seemed to be getting rather distressed over her choice-and not in a good way, either. This didn't seem to be the normal excitement a trainer would feel having to choose, and Professor Maple's intervention seemed to confirm that something was wrong. Tamber walked over to the group, her sudden movement shaking Poppilo awake. She held her pokemon outright, remembering how it helped Wally. "Pet?" She asked.

Alexa hadn't been able to keep her eyes from watching Mary since the fainting spell. She hadn't believed a word of it when Mary said that she was okay. She recognized the tone of voice, the way that Mary was holding herself. But she couldn't help but to feel somewhat proud of this stranger - she had won against whatever demons were after her. Alexa smiled over to her, for once not thinking about all of the fears of how that smile could be taken in the wrong way, or how she'd mess up any kind of interaction.

Charmander was beginning to feel bored. He couldn't understand what the humans were saying and the only bit of excitement, one of them fainting, was already over. So, he began to plan his means of transportation. Obviously, he would get tired of walking at some point, so Bulbasaur would have to carry him. Bulbasaur suggested they try it out now.

"Char char", Charmander agreed, as he took a few steps backwards. And then, he ran forward and flung himself onto Bulbasaur's back. Regrettably, Charmander hadn't thought this through. Before he could pull himself up into a sitting position, his tail brushed against Bulbasaur's flank.

"Bulbasaur!" His Pokemon yelled, dashing forward and bucking its back legs. Charmander flew off with a short squeal of terror and fell onto the floor face first.

This was it! It took all of Wally's effort to maintain his composure - no wonder that girl felt so nervous too! This was a choice of a lifetime!

He felt his breathing get a little hard, but he would not let it get the best of him again. He took a deep breath and stepped towards the Pokeballs.

He had changed his mind fifty times by now, but he knew now. He had no need to pick a water or grass starter just so that he would have an early advantage. That would be such a cheap trick - not one of the champion of tomorrow! He would simply have to catch more Pokemon and take on the Gym Leader with his own skills, not only an elemental advantage.

And now he knew which Pokemon had the potential to be the best. He was really at awe by the trainer Charmander. If his own was anything like it, they would make the best team! After all, Pokemon were not pets or tools for battles! They should be equals, friends!

"May I have Charmander?" he finally said out loud.

Alexa had not even made it to the back of the room and already she was being called forward again? She looked longingly at the place much further away from other people, but knew that she would have to go back towards the more crowded area. Why did it always come to this? People here and people there. She glanced to Mary, and noticed just how much more pale she looked. Alexa was certain she had been right - Mary was not completely on board with this whole thing either.

But the call to pretend to be okay was too strong. She couldn't just refuse to go over there. She decided to say something she would have liked to hear. "It's umm just an egg this time," Alexa said quietly, half to Mary and half to herself. "We can come back to this place right after."

But, where was Bulbasaur? The Pokemon had stepped forward to look at the eggs without his trainer.

"Charmander! Charmander char!" The trainer called again for his Bulbasaur. This time, Bulbasaur walked up and stood next to his trainer. Charmander looked at the egg on Bulbasaur's back and sighed in exasperation, as if to ask 'where did you get that?'

"Bulba!" It smiled happily and pet the egg with one vine.

Before he could squeal with frustration, the other Charmander brushed the Pokemon trainer off. And before he walked off, he reached forward and touched Charmander's official Pokemon trainer hat. "Chaaaaar!" Charmander the trainer growled loudly, launching himself forward to Bite the Charmander.

Thankfully, Bulbasaur reached out with a free vine and restrained his trainer.

She forced herself to walk forward, glad that Alexa was near her. At least she wasn't alone. This was still completely terrifying in every possible way.

"Just pick an egg, Mary," she told herself, squeezing her eyes shut for a moment and taking a deep breath. She pointedly kept her eyes averted from the Charmander ruckus. That was more than too much for her to deal with at the moment.

"Oh Charmander! Done playing with your friends?" Wally asked as his Pokemon came to his side.

"Chaaaaaaar!" Charmander said with a grin and jumped on Wally's arms. "That's great Charmander!" Wally said and held the Charmander in his arms.

Resting his head on Wally's shoulder, Charmander stuck his tongue out towards the other Charmander.

Walking with someone turned out to not be quite as bad as she had always imagined. In fact, it was kind of nice to know she wasn't alone this time. She found her eyes drawn towards a particular egg, one that was sitting upon a lavender pillow and was speckled with gold and pink. That one was really pretty. She reached out for it, and picked it up. It was strange to know that there was a pokemon growing inside of it.

And now she'd have to take care of it. Oh gosh. How could anyone expect her to take care of anything so fragile?

Mary picked her egg without about as much sight as she had used for her Pokémon—that is to say, she looked away from the eggs and reached out until she touched one.

Charmander fumed in his vine restraints as the other Charmander taunted him. Charmander the trainer was going to train Bulbasaur so hard that he'd turn into a Venasaur and stomp that stupid Charmander flat!

Tamber took one last look over the group. Everyone seemed to be getting along, for the most part. The chaos had subsided, and she had her egg. Grabbing its accompanying pokeball, she let Poppilo nuzzle it happily a few more times before she returned it to the pokeball. With Poppilo in her arms, she said a loud "Bye." to anyone who would hear it, and made her way out of the building. Her adventure was just beginning. However, unbeknownst to the others-when she was outside she tripped and her sunglasses fell off. Poppilo hopped out of her arms to retrieve them, but when he turned around what he saw wasn't her face, but her palm-covering his eyes until she had her glasses safely back on her face. He barked out of curiosity before she picked him up and gave one last glance to the lab before walking to the nearest store to buy supplies. This journey was important to her, after all-and it was just beginning!

True to her word, as soon as she saw that she and Mary had chosen an egg, Alexa turned back towards the safety of the back of the room and made her way towards it once more.

Bulbasaur brought Charmander's attention back to reality by guiding it gently until his trainer saw the egg. Charmander marveled over the egg and quickly began to dream of all the super powerful Pokemon it could hatch into. That stupid Charmander wouldn't laugh at a Blastoise or a Dragonite!

With a confident smirk, certain that this egg was going to be more powerful than anything ever, Charmander placed it inside of a Pokeball. And then, he slipped it into the pouch around his waist. "Char, char," it said to Bulbasaur, letting his Pokemon know that they were leaving.

Well, that was it. He had his first Pokemon, and even given an egg for good measure. This was such a wonderful day! As Tamber took her leave, Wally realized he had to go too - his parents would be worried if he was gone for too long. Plus, he had to show them his new friend!

"Thanks for everything, Professor! Bye everyone! Let's do our best with our Pokemon!" he said, and proceeded to exit the building.

This was just the beginning of a great adventure. He could just feel it.
