Appearance: 

Michiru has wavy, teal-colored hair that she often allows to fall loosely across her shoulders and onto her back. On occasion she will hold her hair back with a head band or with a red ribbon. Her eyes are a lighter shade of blue than her hair and her skin is fair with light make-up to accentuate her facial features. Her height is approximately 5'4', but she typically will add a couple inches with her shoes. Michiru is most at ease in dresses, blouses, and skirts in cheerful colors with low heels and matching accessories. She has an eye toward fashion and a well-coordinated outfit that maintains a degree of comfort. Her personal style is elegant and feminine. 

As the sailor senshi of the sea, Michiru's personality exemplifies her realm of influence. Often, she is calm and peaceful, like an ocean on a warm, summer day. But, when her passions are ignited, you will drown in hell and high water. Michiru has controlled her passions through her creativity, such as her music and paintings, and the occasional thrashing of a villain. Although she could use her artistry as more than an outlet, Michiru does not have grand ambitions of becoming a star based upon her craft. She wishes to master her crafts in the violin and painting, yes, but to do so would be for the purpose of satisfying herself and not satisfying others. 

Her duty as a sailor senshi began as a burden she wouldn't have wished on anyone, but Michiru could never argue that it did not bring her closer to the people that matter most in her life.

Sailor Neptune stood as the first line of defense against external forces that wished to do harm to the Silver Millennium and its people. Her life as a soldier was often solitary, because she had minimal contact with the other sailor senshi and even less with the everyday civilian. When the Silver Millennium fell, she was blessed with reincarnation by Queen Serenity on the planet Earth. She would either live a normal life as a civilian or be called upon once again to perform her duty as a soldier if the Earth was threatened. 

Michiru Kaiou was born to a family of moderate wealth and received many privileges as she grew from a child into a young adult. Her gifts in the arts were recognized at a young age and she received instruction in a variety of artistic subjects, such as painting and the violin. Her talents in the arts and her excellent grades within school gained her entrance into a prestigious academy, Mugen. While she was in school, Michiru learned she had another extraordinary talent, she was Sailor Neptune. 

Sailor Neptune was awakened and she began to dream about her fellow sailor senshi, including Sailor Uranus. Recognizing great talent in Haruka Tenoh, Michiru eventually persuaded Haruka of her destiny as Sailor Uranus. The two became partners and close friends as they tried to understand and foil the villainous deeds taking place at Mugen Academy. Over time, the friendship developed into something more intimate and heartfelt as their hearts and destinies intertwined.

Senshi Fuku: 
Sailor Neptune's fuku has evolved with her as her skills as a sailor senshi has grown. Regardless of her current 'level' her fuku's color scheme is dominated by teal and dark blue. Some accessories, such as the length of the ribbons on her skirt and pattern of the sailor senshi collar, may change as Sailor Neptune advances in strength and ability. 

In its most basic form, the Sailor Neptune fuku is a white leotard framed by a short, teal skirt. Around her throat is wrapped a teal ribbon with a golden charm that complements her golden earrings. Upon the chest is a blue bow with a teal-colored broach. A blue bow is placed the back, just above the rear, and the ribbon's length often changes when Sailor Neptune ascends to a new level as a sailor senshi. Her painted nails are covered by longer, white gloves that are bordered by teal and end just below her elbow. A gold tiara with a teal jewel rests on her forehead and her teal hair falls freely down her back in waves. Lastly, her fuku is completed by teal high heels with ribbons that wrap elegantly around her ankles.

Although she had known Haruka for years, on occasion it was still rather difficult to find her the gift that would speak her emotions in the most thoughtful way. Neither she nor Haruka prized possessions over experiences, so a fancy bauble or trinket would hardly be appropriate. An object with more worth than a bauble or trinket was not the solution, either. Haruka had the means and will to buy what pleased her, so Michiru could not very well purchase a car or some other sort of fancy item and justly label it as a 'gift'. No, a gift for a special occasion required deeper thought and more careful planning.
 
Memories were more valuable than any object. And, what made matters a bit difficult, was that she and Haruka had shared many, many memories with each other. Some of those experiences, such as warfare and exotic travel at such a young age, were not typically shared by couples, which made them all the more unique.
 
But, perhaps... No, that would not do at all. Michiru shook her head and sighed in disappointment at the very thought of the gift. She began to pace around the home she shared with her family as she waited for a muse to sing to her. And then, the young woman heard the song of the muses and a smile blossomed on her lips. Yes, that would be perfect and unexpected. Haruka would never be the wiser.
