☆ Hello everyone! ☆

Each of us has our own unique history and preferences in gaming. From the early days in arcades to the recent success of the Nintendo Switch, the gaming industry has provided endless entertainment for gamers around the world. Today, I'm interested in what the first video game you played was.

My first video game I ever played was Kirby's Dream Land for the Game Boy. This game was released on my actual birthday in 1992 and was purchased by my grandparents for me, unaware that I certainly would be unable to do anything with it for several years to come. However, eventually I did actually receive the game and console as my first. From that day, Kirby has consistently been my favorite go-to gaming franchise. Despite starting my career and being known primarily for Pokémon as well as my top ten video games only having one Kirby game among them, Kirby has always been my favorite franchise. Although I still sometimes go back to play Kirby's Dream Land on the Game Boy Virtual Console on the Nintendo 3DS, it was actually probably the game I played least on my original Game Boy. In fact, I'm more interested in working with HAL Laboratory here in Tokyo than going back to work for Nintendo again.

So, what was the first video game you ever played? Do you still play it today? Finally, what role did it play in your interest in gaming? I look forward to reading your stories!

I guess the earliest video game I can remember playing was one of the Humongous Entertainment computer games, like Putt-Putt, Freddi Fish, and Pajama Sam. They're created for little kids, but I, admittedly, do sometimes look for the for nostalgia. I found them entertaining, getting to play these fun characters on their adventures. That interest has evolved over the years into RPG games.

I have very vivid memories of playing Frog Bog. We still have the game somewhere, but my brothers felt more passionately about it, so they've kept it. I don't really play a lot of video games, in general~

First game..IT'S A ME MARIO!! Super Mario Bros NES...the game that started the mario craze.. for me at least

Like magic-my earliest games were humongous entertainment games-as well as some blues clues, schoolhouse rock, treasure island and typing educational games. However, on of my moms friends had burned what I now know as the MAME 32 emulator onto a cd. There were bundles upon bundles of arcade games that I was playing around the same time as pajama sam and Freddy fish-rodland, all of the classic pac man games, classic street fighter and streets of rage, wonderboy (might have been the second one) and a whole mess of other games that I cannot remember the titles of-but can remember the images and music. My first official videogame on a console would be Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland for the Gameboy Advance in 2003 at age 11.

Like a few of the other members, I played a lot of PC learning games when I was young. Jump Start Second Grade, anybody? Pokemon Yellow was the first “not educational” game I technically tried out, but it was not my copy: One of my mom’s co-worker’s sons was playing it at a Christmas party and I asked if I could play because I was obsessed with everything and anything Pokemon. So I guess my answer to your question is Pokemon Gold, but if we’re talking about the game that got me to play something besides Pokemon, then SaGa! XD–specifically the second one, which was called “Final Fantasy Legend II” in North America. I still play games from both series, though I have not touched Pokemon Gold in over 15 years because the battery is dead. D: I replayed SaGa 2 last year, and I am trying well, kinda... xD to beat the final boss in the DS remake! I have replayed SaGa 2 more than any other game that I own.

Zelda on the SNES was my first.  I remember playing it until all hours of the night as a small child with my mom.  We were gamer buddies.

I think it was Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. (The Cartridge that had both games on it)

I think my first games were edutainment computer games, plus Wii sports and stuff like that. My brother and I also had these Leagfrog game things that were like DSs BUT EDUCATIONAL. My first "real" game was Riven: The Sequel to Myst which I pretty much played because ya girl was/is a huge bookworm and I thought it was cool that you traveled through books. My dad bought it for me. It took me forever to beat it and I actually stared playing it again recently and I need to finish it.

Can't remember. Maybe GTA San Adnreas

I'm not entirely sure what my very first game was, the best I can do is work out the first games I've played. When I was a kid I watched my brother play a few games on the old computer, games like the original Civilization and Master of Magic. I think my first PC game was Commander Keen 4, part of the Goodbye Galaxy episode. It's a simple and very quirky platformer, I had so much fun exploring and zapping and dying. xD
My first console game was the classic Super Mario Bros., we got the SMB/Duck Hunt cartridge and I constantly died at 4-1. D: To this day I've never finished the game.

Let me start by saying....I am old!  The first video game I played was Pac-Man.  I played it on the Atari.

So technically my first video game was on a console called "V-Smile", they were edutainment games, mainly from different TV shows. Although, my first might have actually been a Crayola video game? I'm not sure. 

My first real video game was probably either one of the original Mario or Zelda games (both of which I despised and just wanted to try them because my sister and dad were playing them).

Super Mario Bros. on the NES in the late 1980s when I was a kid, sometimes with my brother and I'm not able to beat the game, but he can.

The first video game I have ever played was Final Fantasy 10-2 for the PS2 and I also played Final Fantasy 10 as well.
