Welcome to the fifth phase of The Lunar Chronicles event. These events (yes, there are more than one!) will be our way of exploring the Sailor Moon canon that was never really fleshed out in any of its incarnations. We will be traversing through time and replaying the characters' journeys from the very beginning to the end, filling in holes that the anime, the manga, the musical, and the live action have failed to fill in for us!

All characters will be canon only, and they will run within a specific timeframe (in this case, one month) as a special event to ensure the storyline is finished.

Every few months, there will be one phase of event held. These will go chronologically, from the past to the future, in the following phases.

Phase I: New Moon - Early Silver Millennium
Phase II: Waxing Crescent - The Beginning of Moon & Earth Relations
Phase III: Waxing Gibbous - The Fall of Silver Millennium
Phase IV: Full Moon - Tokyo 20th Century
Phase V: Waning Moon - Crystal Tokyo
Phase VI: Lunar Eclipse

We are now opening the fifth phase. This event will start on September 1st, 2016 and will run until the end of the month. The goal is to finish this phase within that month. As such, you will have to follow an activity rule of being able to post at least every 48 hours.

Phase V Premise:

It has been hundreds - perhaps thousands - of years since Crystal Tokyo was founded. The world is at peace now, with Neo Queen Serenity and her court reigning over Earth. The senshi have slowly pursued their dreams and some have even created families of their own, no longer tied down solely by their duty.

Princess Lady Serenity is a full-fledged adult, a true lady in her own right, and together with the Sailor Quartet, she has been taking care of senshi duties more and more. A gradual passing of the mantle has been happening slowly and surely from mother to daughter, both in the role of protector of the world as well as queen.

And just in time, too.

The Silver Moon Crystal is weakening, and with it, the queen. No one knows why. Mercury can't figure out what was wrong with it, nothing Mars sees in the flames can explain it, there's no darkness or enemy threatening for Jupiter to deal with, and no matter how much Venus tries to think about what the possibilities of the future, she cannot find a clear answer. Pluto might know, but as usual, Pluto's keeping her secrets.

Perhaps it is simply time. After all, even the strongest Sailor Crystal in the galaxy has to return to the Cauldron sometime, to be reborn anew. The queen has lived for millennia and she, too, is tired of her immortality. At some point, there needs to be a finish line.

No one wants to talk about it, but it's clear that the queen grows weaker with every passing day. First she just excuses herself to go to bed early, then her appetite lessens - which might have been the most alarming thing of all - and for the past month she has spend more and more time in bed. There is nothing physically wrong with her except for her life force.

The Silver Moon is waning.

At any rate the meaning is clear; soon, the princess will have to officially take over her throne. She has had enough time to prepare for it. Everyone who's not in denial has started preparing for that eventuality.

But that's not the hardest thing of all, of course.

The hardest thing is to say goodbye.

Rules:
- You must have an approved Advanced profile of the canon character you wish to claim. However, you may claim them here first, then write the profile. You have until the event starts (September 1st, 2016) to get that profile approved - if you fail, your claim will be given to someone else with an approved profile. Because of the nature of the event (heavily based on canon), I need to be sure everyone who signs up understands the character they're playing very well! If you need help writing your profile, I'm happy to help out too! I really don't want this rule to discourage anyone. I promise you it will be easier to get an Advanced profile approved than you think.
- As this event will portray the characters far, far away in the future, at which point their personality would have changed quite a bit from when they first started as senshi, I reserve the right to require a new RP sample from any participant who signs up.
- You have to be able to post at least every other day throughout the whole month, because the goal is to finish the phase before the end! This isn't going to be a regular storyline where we can keep posting for a long time, but hopefully we can put in a lot of activity during the entire month and get some pretty great interactions going!

We will start with one claim per person, but before the event closes, if there are still unclaimed roles, I will open up 2 claims per person.
