Tellu of the Witches 5

Tellu (or Tellur as UndergroundSources so lovingly calls her ^^) is a member of the Witches 5, a subgroup under the Deathbusters. Tellu only makes an appearance in two episodes of the anime, episode 120 "Invasion From an Alternate Dimension! The Mystery of Mugen Academy" and 121, "A Mystic Flower that Steals Hearts! The Third Witch, Telulu". She is the third of the Witches 5 to appear. In the manga, she appears in Act 24 and is the fourth witch to appear. Tellu also appears in the musical, Mugen Gakuen - Mistress Labyrinth and its revision. She is played by Mio Nunokawa and Akiko Iwasaki.

According to wikimoon.org, "Tellu's name could come from a rare oxide mineral known as tellurite, although "テルル" is the Japanese name for tellurium."

Anime

Tellu made her debut in episode 120 of the anime, when she purposely unplugged Eudial's abandoned invention, the Witches Electric Warp, while Mimete was still inside it, thus killing her. After Mimete's demise, Tellu took over leadership of the Witches 5.

Intead of using Daimons she sold Telluns, plants that she had created with the purpose of extracting Pure Heart Crystals. She was killed by her own creation, the Hyper Tellun, after Tuxedo Mask broke her Pure Heart Crystal storage container with a rose, leaving behind her Mugen Gakuen student ID. This information gave the Sailor Senshi the location of the Death Busters' whereabouts.

Manga

Tellu is the fourth of the Witches 5 to appear in the manga (although she is the third Witch to appear in the anime). She makes her entrance in act 28, volume 08. She is at level 404. At Mugen Gakuen, Tellu is known as Ruru Teruno, the instructor of the school's physical education classes, as well as the school's botanical gardens. She creates a special plant called the Tellurian, which supposedly grows without water because it absorbs moisture from the air. Tellu sells the plants at Mugen Gakuen, as well as other Flower Shop Mamiana. Makoto hears about these special plants, and is suspicious. She buys one, and Minako and she are at her apartment when the begin to feel very sleepy. Minako awakens Makoto, and they find that all of Makoto's houseplants have died except for the Tellurian, which has bloomed. Makoto runs to the kitchen and grabs a knife, then cut the Tellurian to pieces. A poisonous gas is emitted from the leaves of the plant, and Makoto and Minako go to warn the others. The senshi then go to the Mugen Gakuen botanical gardens to investigate the matter. They arrive to see unconscious people scattered throughout the greenhouse. They fall to the ground, weakened by the hundreds of Tellurian flowers there. Tellu arrives on the scene and introduces herself. She explains that the Tellurians steal the souls out of people, and their energy blooms into a flower. When she gives these flowers to Master Pharaoh 90, he will be able to awaken. The senshi transform immediately, and Tellu uses her "Mandragora Buster" attack on them. Sailor Jupiter uses her "Coconut Cyclone" attack, which hits Tellu but does no damage. Sailor Moon then tries her "Moon Spiral Heart Attack," but Tellu absorbs the attack. Sailor ChibiMoon begins to cry, and feels that she needs to help her mother, but she will need a weapon to help her join the fight. LunaP suddenly turns into a wand. Sailor ChibiMoon grabs the wand and performs her "Pink Sugar Heart Attack" for the first time. It causes Tellu to transform into a monster. The Outer Senshi then make their appearance, and Sailor Pluto uses her "Dead Scream" atack to destroy Tellu.

Personal Opinion
I don't have much on this girl. I always found it odd how they focused a lot on the other Witches 5 characters, but when it came down to the end, poor Tellu only got one full episode and same goes for Cyprine and Ptilol. Though I think the way she offed Mimete in the anime was pretty...awesome. I haven't seen the musicals with her so I don't really have an opinion there.

Did a quick search on DeviantArt on Tellu and found an awesome cosplay!

My reasoning:

テルル "Teruru" is an approximation of the German word "Tellur" which in English is "Tellurium" explaining the translation of Teruru as Tellurium, because it comes in from another language... Tellur also accounts better for the "ruru" sound better than Tellu. where you have to pronunce it in english as. TEL-lu, (and don't pretend your pronuncing it that way. I'm sure youre saying - Te-llu) And to finish it off "Tellur-" is the root of the the element... not "Tellu-". C'mon give me ONE good reason why it should be Tellu XD

In the musicals Tellur, she was pretty much the same as the manga. She attended Mugen Gakuen and was head of the Physical Class. She was the fourth Witch in the original musical and the third in the revision. She had a penchant for Gardening. So what if she grows them with poison, hydrochloric acid and hostie...

Tellur seemed to be off doing her own thing, and there were several scenes where she arrived later than the other four Witches as apparently she was busy with her Tellurians. Due to this "special" treatment in the musicals as well as being positioned in the middle of the following manga picture that i think of Tellur as the in-leader of the Witches 5, considering shes the strongest after Cyprine... and Cyprine seems overpowered to be a leader XD

She sung in "Isei Nottori Keikaku" "Triangle Secret!" and "Magus Collection" and was a back up dancer for several songs including "Harsh! Saint Cry" and "Unubore Shoujo ga Yatte Kita"

Tellur used to among my least favourite villains. Along with Jadeite, Nephrite and Rubeus... since then she's grown on me. Particularly her myu insanity. She really does NOT know how to garden and I'm not sure who let her have her own botanical garden.
