So here's a creation that has been in the back of my mind for a while. I may even do a profile so I can use her in RPS. What do you think?
Name: Originally Lucy and later Lucite. She has no last name.
Appearance: Even as a very young child she had these large expressive aquamarine eyes. Her hair is stark white and straight. Her skin is on the paler side with a smooth complexion. She is a tall and willowy 5'6''.
- Young Lucy:
- Lucite:
Pardon the pinkish looking hair. It was the closest to white available.
History:
Lucy was born during the Golden Kingdom era to unknown parents. She knows nothing of her family history except the name of the village where she was found. Endymion had sent two of his men, Kunzite and Nephrite to check out rumors of a youma attack on a far off village. When they got there, they were able to eliminate the threat facing the town, but they were too late to save it. Houses were in ruins and death and damage were everywhere. It seemed that the tiny village was a lost cause. They were just about to leave, and report back when Nephrite heard a cry. Searching for the source they found a small two year old child hidden in a root cellar, the door to the cellar blocked by what they assumed to be her mother's body.
It was decided to take her with them until they could reach the nearest orphanage, but on the journey, her cute antics won over Nephrite who convinced Kunzite to at least take her to the palace where she might find a better orphanage or even an adoptive family. Even after they returned, though each one would be the first to say they had no time for babysitting, they failed to find a place suitable for the little girl that was slowly winning hearts with her toddler-ish affection and innocence. And even though the plan remained to find her a suitable home, she stayed. Even Kunzite finally settled to her presence and gradually talk of orphanages and adoptions died out. Though the contradicted her and tried to explain, she began calling them all "papa". It became rather a joke that endlessly amused Endymion.
They soon discovered when she was about five that she had an affinity for Earth magics. It was not that uncommon in those days for people to be adept at varying levels at tapping into the great energy of the planet, though it was not universal, and often remained dormant and undiscovered. Being surrounded by such men as the shitennou it was hard to avoid exposure to magic and she proved a curious child and a quick study.
As she grew older, she really tried to train in earnest, realizing it was a way to make her adoptive papas pleased with her. While her abilities were weaker than theirs, she made up for it in part with physical prowess. Taking her on as a pet project, they all taught her something and she did all she could to please them. As she came of an age to understand her own adoption, and her uncertain place in the world she faced it with humility and gratefulness, expressing thanks by being as helpful as possible and making a promise to earn her keep. She kept to the background, avoiding attention, knowing she had no claim to title or position.
But she did not go completely without notice. Lucy trained hard, pushing herself to her limits in an attempt to make them proud of her, even though she was not quite as powerful as they, the four heavenly kings. Before long, she was allowed to go along on missions where she earned the nickname "white ghost" because she would come out of nowhere moving fast and then disappear into the ranks again. If someone was creeping up behind one of her adopted fathers, she moved to neutralize the threat before they even knew it was there if she could.
It was after a few of these battles that she really became accepted into the ranks on her own merits and took on the name "Lucite". Lucite was a manufactured gem, man made, yet still holding a pretty gleam. It was her way of recognizing the fact that who she was had been created by those who took her in and not because she was born to a certain family or with certain traits. She was a nobody, a ghost, but capable of standing on her own two feet. It was a humble name and it suited the quiet girl well.
But things would not remain as they were. For a while now a darkness had been seeping over the Earth. Animosity between the Earth and Moon was rising, as were youma activities. She knew it had something to do with the Moon princess sneaking on to palace grounds, and the illegal love affair with her prince. But she could not understand what angered people so. She had seen the Moon princess and did not thing she was threatening in the least. What she did notice over time was the demeanor of the Shitennou. She noticed their mood shifts, the angry glean that came into their eyes. They stopped talking to her and dismissed her like she were not in the room as their single minded focus became the intrusion of the people of the Moon, and what to do about it.
Oh she tried to talk to them, to figure out what was going on. But she was only a teenager really, and could not get anyone to listen. It seemed everyone was all of a same mind suddenly. Little did she know what was really going on. Too insignificant to attract Beryl's attention she escaped the brainwashing only to watch the lunar invasion from the outside, confused and upset by the turn of events. Still hopeful that she could talk some sense into her now distant adopted family, she followed the army to the moon, pretending to do her part as a soldier.
The carnage was a brutal assault to her psyche. Though she tried her best, she watched her beloved shitennou fall one by one along with their senshi counterparts, who seemed to be the only ones not wanting this fight. Tears streamed down her face as she went from one to the other, trying to save them from mortal injuries. Exhausted and bleeding herself, she regretted somehow escaping death as all that she loved fell around her and then there was nothing. Not even the princess of the Moon stirred.
It was then that the queen came, with tears in her eyes to stand over her daughter. Lucite was frozen kneeling beside Zoisite as she watched the queen approach. What must the queen think of them, coming onto her land and causing so much death? Would she strike her down where she kneeled, exacting this small revenge over such pain caused? Her eyes met those of the queen as she made peace with her death and even welcomed it. The young girl did not wish to live in this wasteland. She closed her tear-stained eyes and awaited the strike. But it did not come.
In a way, her and the queen were linked in sorrow, both the only apparent survivor facing the loss of everyone they loved. Instead of a blast, she felt a soft hand on her shoulder. It was the last thing she felt before it all started over.
Reborn in Tokyo with no memories of her past, Lucy still retained that innate drive, a feeling of urgency. She tackled her studies with determined effort, but really excelled in activities like fencing and kendo. It was as of her body screamed to move, as if she were training herself for...something. It wasn't until she saw one of their faces that things started coming back in the form of nightmares and dreams. but before she could fully grasp the situation and contact them, they were taken by Beryl. Powerless to do anything but watch she lived in terror that history would repeat itself, until the senshi arrived.
She kept a distance, never letting them see her, but she watched, and secretly helped where she could as she began to rediscover some of her lost talents. Lacking the power to confront Beryl herself, they were her only hope of saving the ones she loved like family.
Deeply saddened by their deaths, again in this life, and their return to stone, she watches over Mamoru and the stones, too fearful to interact, yet longing to see them once more. She lives in hope of the day they will find a way to bring them back, but for now she has to settle with hearing their voices from outside of Mamoru's window at night.
