Does anyone have a good working theory for why Pluto's brooch goes from garnet red to black in the manga?

I've heard that it happens when she goes Super, but as far as I've been able to find in the manga, that only happens when she goes Eternal.

Thoughts?

I've never heard it happen until she goes eternal either.

It happens to them all when they go eternal though, the subtle more uniform color changes.
