Appearance: Michiru is an extremely beautiful and delicate-looking girl of slim stature and average height, with deep blue eyes and wavy teal hair that falls just past her shoulders. The epitome of elegance and femininity, she has an excellent sense of fashion, being always dressed smartly, and applying makeup or perfectly made up already. Usagi and Minako were both utterly dazzled by her beauty when they first saw her, and Usagi has gone as far as saying that Michiru is exactly what a fairy tale princess would be like. Princess Neptune, she wore a sea-green gown with the symbol of Neptune on her forehead. As a civilian, she likes to wear very feminine clothing, often being found in skirts and dresses. Her school uniform is a green skirt with blue tartan pattern on it with a red shirt and green bow. In the warmer months, she'll wear a red vest with a white t-shirt instead of the red sweater. 
 
Personality: Elegant, sophisticated, though sometimes cold and capable of sharp anger, she has been described by Usagi Tsukino as 'the ideal princess'. Michiru attends Mugen Gakuen with Haruka Tenou and the younger Hotaru Tomoe. She is patient and caring, almost always offering a smile or laugh to a situation. While polite and calm to a fault, she is not the most social person, but when she does become close with someone it is because she truly wants to. She dislikes being patronized and will not indulge others.
 
This can make her look like a snob, and her seeming perfection at everything does not help this perception of her. She is a genuinely intelligent young woman, a prodigal violinist and artist, already famous for her endeavors. Her intelligence is also apparent through her acceptance to Mugen Gakuen, a school with a very high acceptance threshold; only geniuses of some field are permitted enrollment.
 
Generally reserved, polite, and elegant, Michiru is a lady through and through, exuding a quiet maturity, beauty, and grace beyond her age. She acts and appears like an adult, and she is the picture of sophistication. She is also talented - she is a reknowned violinist; a famous painter (in the anime only); and an excellent swimmer. Whereas her partner is more outspoken and brash, Michiru tends to be more considerate, kind, and tactful, especially in the manga, where she seems a lot gentler. In the anime, she is particularly kind when it comes to younger girls, of whom she is fond, thinking them to be "cute." In both the anime and manga, she has an obvious maternal streak. At times, however, her competitive nature can cause her to be harsh, and in the manga, she can be vain and have a scary temper. In the anime, she is a bit of a flirt, but mostly just with Haruka. Despite her seemingly quiet nature, however, she is just as driven as her partner. As Sailor Neptune, she will do whatever it takes to fulfill her mission, even at the cost of her own life. She can be cold and ruthless when necessary, even though in the anime, she tends to be more open than Uranus regarding her doubts about her actions. Her duty is very important to her and is willing to make any sacrifices to fulfill it.

She shares a deep and profound bond with Haruka.

History:
During the Silver Millennium, Sailor Neptune was also the Princess of her home planet and was among those given the duty of protecting the solar system from outside invasion. She dwelt in Triton castle.
 
In modern time, she was reincarnated as Michiru Kaioh. She grew up to be extremely intelligent and even attended an elite school, Mugen Academy. It is unknown how she awoke as a Senshi as she was alone for quite some time before meeting Haruka Tenoh. Michiru would often appear in the dreams of Haruka and when they finally met, she informed the other woman as her destiny as a Senshi. However, when it came time for Haruka to accept her fate as a Senshi, Michiru sacrifice herself, not wanting Haruka to share the same fate. This didn’t stop Haruka, who became Sailor Uranus and fought by her side. The two soon fell in love. They began to live together and met the other Sailor Senshi. After defeating Mistress 9, she and Haruka adopted baby Hotaru Tomoe. Now, they live with Setsuna Meioh as a family after having moved into the Tomoe mansion.

Senshi Fuku:
Sailor Neptune has shoulder-length, wavy, turquoise-colored hair with a center part, revealing the tiara on her forehead with a teal-colored gem in the center. Her pale skin makes her look fragile, and her deep blue eyes are a reference to the ocean, which is what she freely controls and manipulates at will. The dominant color on her Sailor fuku is teal. Her skirt, her footwear that resembles ballet shoes, her collar, choker and the gem on her tiara are teal. Her brooch is also teal. Her gloves are barely over her wrists and the ends are also teal. Both bows are dark blue.
 
Super: After the "Super" upgrade (Stars), her earrings remained the same, her choker had a star attached to it, her collar had one white stripe, the center of her front bow was a heart, she had one translucent shoulder pad, and the back waist bow was enlarged and lengthened. The length of her gloves remained the same.
 
Eternal: This upgrade gives her a V-shaped choker, and her brooch becomes start-shaped as well as her tiara. On collar now has one strip on it and the skirt has two layers. The bottom layer of the skirt is a light turquoise. Her shoulders become round light turquoise puffs with turquoise rims around them. Her gloves are longer, reaching pat her elbows. Two ribbons, a light turquoise, and turquois act as a belt around her waist that meets in the middle with a yellow star. She now has knee high boots with a yellow start on the rim, which is V shaped and turquoise. Her earrings are also star shaped as well.

She had wanted to save her from the same fate as herself, yet she proved to be ever so stubborn. She is as wild as the wind, never to be tamed or pinned to one place. Michiru supposed in many ways, they are the same. They seem to be opposite in so many ways, yet it is in ways that complement the other. Haruka is all rough edges and attitude, raging strongly as a hurricane, while she is the soothing waters after the storm. Their duty to protect our planet and their Princess is one of the many things that bring them together. Her duty is of a solider, her love is her partner and her Princess and she will do what has to be done to fulfill her duty.
