| Since so many of us love language learning, let's have a thread dedicated to these lovely useful areas of information!
DuoLingo This is also a free phone application, but I enjoy the website version better, although they are the same. You acn learn non character used languages here, such as German, French, Swedish, etc. |

| I love it...and normally language programs online make you pay after so far, this doesn't. And it even tells you when you might be lacking in certain skill sets and offers you to redo earlier courses. |

| Mango Languages is a bit like DuoLingo, but still different. I also really enjoy it. Although it says it requires a subscription, I'm able to use it through my library card. A number of libraries have licenses for it that are available to library patrons. |

| Awesome! I'm level 4 in German, but still on the first 3 basics, since I restarted. I took German in high school for 4 years, so I want to redo many lessons when I can just so it sticks well. |

| "Fun Easy Learn (insert name of language here)" for smartphones is decent if you want to learn vocabulary on the go. I have the application for Hungarian. Polyglot Club ( http://polyglotclub.com/ ) is a site where you can practice with other people (or offer to help people with languages that you are proficient in). I remember there being chatrooms, but I didn't try speaking over the mic with people (since there were occasional weirdos who totally were not there to learn languages), but I did find a buddy/tutor who would read over work that I did from a textbook and then provide feedback on it. It definitely helped. There was one other language resource that I found pretty helpful for vocabulary and basic phrases, but I cannot remember the name of the website / software. It involved flashcards though. |
