I wasn't allowed to watch Sailor Moon as a kid, because my parents were really dubious about anime. I saw a Sailor Moon figuarts at my future place of employment and almost bought it, but it was Crystal's release that finally convinced me to watch the shows.

I thought the idea of it was really cool. I remember just googling it one night and thinking, wow, that is not at all what I expected and it sounds really awesome. I should watch this sometime. I eventually read the manga first. And I loved it.

To be honest, I checked it out mostly on its reputation as one of the more famous anime.

Glad I did too. Still a big fan after all these years!

I was probably 5 when I first watched Sailor Moon, back when it first got to the states and was playing on MTV. I loved the colours, the transfermations, and that it was a female centered super hero show! My dad would get me comics around the same age, and I always wanted more girl teams. And now, I keep getting drawn back into Naoko's gorgeous art, and all the awesome merch I can finally buy for myself haha.

Hmm, it just seemed interesting to me, I suppose. It was also well done and I liked the portrayal of the girls' charming lives and everything that happened in the series. And Usagi, of course.

That and I was just drawn to the animation. It was my gateway to anime, I believe.

I started watching it because it wasn't for boys and I wanted to do a finger of honor to most of everything back then (I was a teenager when I started PGSM I think). I kinda liked it anyway, so I stayed with it. Lame reason, but eh, I was young xD

I can't remember when or where I first heard of Sailor Moon, but I remember being like 10 years old and finding the 10th volume of the manga at a bookstore. I immediately wanted it and loved the artwork in it. It was so graceful, and since I had just started drawing around then I ended up copying the different poses. Sailor Saturn was in that volume too and I loved her design and just her story in general. 
Also, I had wanted to watch the anime on TV, but it would air before I got home from school, and my friends thought Toonami was dumb so they wouldn't let me watch it at their house either when we'd hang out xD.

Honestly, I'm not sure. One day when I was a tiny child, my dad found it on Cartoon Network and set me in front of the tv. I'm not sure why I stuck with it, but I did. Obv I'm glad I stuck with it but I'm still not sure *what* about it when I was a youngin' I was drawn to.

One day, I happened to see a youtube comment that compared some elements of Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne to the first season of Sailor Moon, and my interest was piqued. I did some research and decided to start reading the manga some days later. And once I did, I was hooked. So I guess you could say the whole theme of girls with magical powers (especially powers that are inspired by the Solar System’s planets and their respective myths) fighting was the first thing that drew me to the series.

I remember getting to the part where the girls teleport to the moon and hear about their past lives, and it was what sealed the deal for me since the whole idea of ancient kingdoms on Moon and Earth sounded really interesting. Plus the awesome friendships. =)

Sailor Moon appeals to me for this reason: ordinary, everyday people, in this case, young girls, have superpowers. I have an interest in astronomy and astrology, and coming from Japan, elements of eastern/Asian culture thrown in. I can relate to Ami's smarts, love of reading and studies on science subjects.

I love teams with different powers and personalities and colors. I also love female friendships and the wonderful over the top moves and cutesy teenage dilemmas they all go thru. I loved how all the characters are unique.

I was young when I first came across Sailor Moon and I don't really remember what drew me in. I do remember that the first episode I saw was when the moon princess was revealed and I've loved it ever since!
