| 110$ is abnormally overpriced, however. They're trying to make 30-50$ profit, damn. |

| Okay after watching the first few minutes on my laptop and on my desktop, I noticed no issues with the DVDs. The sound is good and the video looks great. My desktop monitor is a TV, but I have yet to watch it using a DVD player. I will let you all know when I do!
Also songs have subs!! |

| So, if anyone with the blu-ray set has anything to share, is it worth getting at all? As I'm in Australia, I'll need to order it off Amazon, and the blue-ray is $32 extra... >.> |

| This youtube channel has a good video comparison of the Viz Blu Ray Sailor Moon release with the Mexican release: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoChpeTvNnQ |

| I have watched 9 episodes and don't see it at all. If there was ghosting I didn't even notice it. I have heard that Viz said that this the quality that Toei gave them. They have done this before to other companies.
The sound quailty is fantastic!!!! It's loud and crisp. The dubbing is very professional too. The subtiles are easy to read.
It's worth buy! The visual quality could be better but hey it's an older anime and you can still see everything clearly. You can't beat the price at least the DVD price. I just wish they didn't spilt up the seasons. |

| I watched that video comparing the Mexican and Viz release. Reading some comments, the ghosting isn't noticeable to people who don't know about it or aren't trained to catch those sorts of things. Sooooo most of the flack is probably people just looking to nitpick because this fandom has to whine about everything given to them. Cause who knew a bunch of adults could still whine like babies about a tv show from the 90s...(ahaha who am i kidding saying that xD) |

| I don't have the Blu Ray set but I have the Viz DVD boxset and it looks very good to me. It looks a lot better and clearer than the old ADV set I still have. The only issue I have with the Viz release is that it's pillarboxed as I miss the way the old ADV set filled up my screen and sometimes the colors look oversaturated, especially the color green for some reason, but that seems to be a general problem with remastering older anime. I also think it's unfair to compare a Blu Ray release to a DVD release. As far as I'm aware, America is the only country with a Blu Ray release, so until other countries get one too, it's an apples to oranges comparison. |

| Yeah it silly to compare Blu Ray to DVD. I understand it when Blu Ray and HD first came out. But now we all know HD is better than SD.
I had low expectations for the Blu Ray for an anime made in the 90s especially if it wasn't made in the greatest quality. Yeah season one doesn't look that great. I say Sailor Moon started to look good in the S season. Despite the character designs in season 1 and 2 the animation is still fluid. |

| Viz said they aren't going to do a recall on the season one set but they did claim that the later sets will look better as the animation improves with the later seasons and they said there next sets won't be pillarboxed. |

| You get DVDs when you get hte blu rays right?
I'm also still partially holding out for a box set of the entire series once they are done with it all...so may as well wait. Its not like these are going out of print any time soon. |

| Sailor Moon? yes you get the DVDs in the Blu Rey Set. As for CCS I can't remember. My friend got the new CCS boxset and both us are disappointed with it. Not with the quality, but with the translation. They messed up a key point in the series. Both us cant forgive the people who translated it. - For those wondering:
Sakura and Syaoran are two main characters did not start off on the right foot. Throughout the whole series they addressed each other by their last names. Then near the end of the series Syaoran calls Sakura by her first name. Sakura is touched by this because they're finally becoming friends. Sakura then asks Syaoran if she can call him by his first name. This is very important to these characters because Syaoran fell in love with Sakura. This episode made him accept his love for her. The people who translated screw this up because the subtitles had Sakura address him by his first name since his debut episode. They had to fix this by Sakura telling another friend that her and Syaoran are "best buddies" now. Ugh normally I don't care about the first name last thing, but when it's important like this it makes me mad!

| Yeah, I've heard the ghosting is only noticeable because of the super HD quality of the blu-ray. I have yet to hear anything of that nature for the DVDs. Personally, I plan on waiting a bit longer to purchase them, mostly if and/or when they start releasing series as the entire series instead of being split into two parts. |

| So do you only notice this 'ghosting' if you know what to look for? I had been thinking about getting this set awhile back and I saw some screenshots that looked weird but I'm not sure if it's what you guys are talking about. |

| That is what I've read in comments on youtube and the such. if you watch that youtube video that was linked that compares the mexican release to the viz release, she shows you the ghosting. I saw a commenter stating they didn't notice it on first watch through and only saw it after it was pointed out. |

| I got the Sailor Moon Season 1 Part 2 DVD boxset for my birthday and for anyone who wanted to know what the DVD version of this set was like, Viz did correct the aspect ratio from the first set and this set is in fullscreen as opposed to the first set which was presented in pillarboxed format. |

It's my understanding from the interview the ANN podcast gave with Viz that they currently don't have any plans to do a reprint of the part 1 set but that all future sets will be in fullscreen. |

| To be fair, reprinting that many box sets would take money, to the point where it might negate the original sales. So either you'd have to rebuy the first set or they give out a ton of free DVDs. |
