Appearance: Asha has long jet black hair and eyes that are just as dark. People often felt unsettled because of her black eyes, seeing them as a bad omen since she was just a baby. When she was little, she tried tying up her hair and ways to make her ‘otherworldliness’ seem smaller and less intimidating, but ever since she became Sailor Pandora she decided to stop trying to hide them. It was what she was and everyone already knew anyway. So these days she always lets her hair down, loose and flowing around her shoulders. When not in senshi form she prefers to wear darker colors as well, black and brown and purple, colors that help her blend better into the night. She already takes up enough attention as it is—no point emphasizing it further. Her clothing style is generally modest, simple, and with solid colors.

Personality: Asha does not talk much unless she has to. It isn’t because she’s shy or reserved, but because in her experience, people do not really want to listen to her anyway. Most of them are already scared, and so she sees no point in making that worse. She also no longer has any interest in convincing them otherwise—that she wasn’t the dangerous death-bringer everyone thought she was—because deep down she knows part of it is true. If she does not control the power that’s been bestowed upon her by her home planet, she will become dangerous and deadly. She doesn’t seek to change people’s opinion through words, rather choosing to rely on her actions. She wants to do her best as a senshi so that she could make her parents proud and make people see that death isn’t all she’s capable of bringing. Everyone always forgets that her power has two sides because it’s people’s nature to focus on the worst.

Maintaining the balance between her own identity and Sailor Pandora is also a delicate problem. The senshi part of her is always brimming with power, impatient to unleash all of it upon the world. Asha is the wall standing between the restless spirit and destruction. She knows that it isn’t like this for other senshi; that they’re usually one and the same or have very little distinction between both identities, and though she doesn’t understand why the case is different with her, it’s the burden she must bear. Due to these constantly warring personalities, she will often appear to have strange mood swings or shift from one emotion to the next really quickly without a trigger. The more time passes since she’s awakened, though, the more she’s able to maintain control. But because of this, very few people truly understand her and her struggle.

Asha’s only dream is to become the senshi that is worthy of Saturn, as now becoming Sailor Pandora has become something that swallows her entire life.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Whether it is because she prefers nighttime and often stays awake more during the night to train or not, Asha seems to be able to see things in the dark easier than most people. She is also incredibly attuned to people’s emotions, especially those feeling hopeful or despair. By making contact with them, she can then influence them with a small bit of her power to make them feel the opposite if she wants to. In this way, she can, for example, talk down a potentially suicidal person more easily. It’s her favorite part of her powers; using it to help save people.
 
History: Pandora was one of the last moons of Saturn to be populated. There was a reason why denizens of Saturn shied away from that particular moon, and it was because of a myth that said that one day, a sailor senshi would emerge from there who would bring despair to all. For the longest time, people were terrified, but as time went by, the next generations stopped believing in the myth. It became forgotten and slowly but surely Pandora became filled with its own people.

Until one day a baby girl with no parents appeared in the middle of the city they’d built. No one knew where she came from, but some said they witnessed her emerging from the core of the moon itself. Rumors and whispers spread about what this might mean, and the old myth became a topic of conversation again. At first, nobody wanted to take in the child—some even wondered if she should be raised at all. But eventually a kind couple who had not been able to conceive on their own stepped forward and claimed they would raise the girl as their own. They felt the need to protect her and could not stand the thought that nobody wanted her. So they adopted the child, and never paid any mind when their friends stopped visiting or when people looked at their new daughter warily.

It seemed that from the moment she was brought into the world nobody loved her, but her adoptive parents did. In defiance to everyone else’s opinion, they named her Asha—which means ‘hope’. The very opposite of despair.

Asha grew up into a pretty girl, but her temperament was often perplexing. At times, she seemed as if her personality was at war with itself. She would be bright and happy one minute, then withdrawn and aloof the next. The lack of friends and the way other kids watched her with their fear didn’t help either. She was having a hard time as it was finding her true self without all the troubles from the outside.

Asha often said to her mother that she felt like there were two of her inside her body and she never quite knew what she wanted. Her parents hoped as she grew up it would stabilize, but something else happened on her sixteenth birthday. The power that had been lying dormant inside of her awakened and revealed her true identity.

The family had just about managed to gather people in their house to celebrate the birthday—it was a miracle that more than ten people showed up. But by then, everyone had started believing maybe Asha was just a normal girl after all, since, despite her mood swings, she hadn’t exhibited any other strange traits for sixteen years. So the party was actually quite well attended, which as it turned out was more of a curse than a blessing.

When the power awoke, it was overwhelming. She could not control it. Right there in the middle of the party, she transformed into her other self; Sailor Pandora. The moon’s first senshi. But that wasn’t all. She also unleashed her power, and it was the power everyone had been so afraid of. Despair. Pure despair washed over the room, affecting everyone in it. This elicited different reactions. Some became angry with others, blaming them for what they perceived to be their terrible situation. Others became so depressed they committed suicide. A riot broke out and everything was in chaos.

Asha’s parents were affected too, but their will was stronger than most and they were so focused on their worry for their daughter that they managed to push aside and fight against the effects of the power. They were the ones who finally managed to snap her out of it. When the pouring of power stopped and Asha saw the destruction that had happened around her—the destruction she caused—she too, fell into despair. It was all her fault. All these people had finally wanted to come and befriend her, celebrate her life, but all she gave in return was death.

She would have become lost—would have retreated far into herself and let her senshi half take over—had her parents not coax her back to the surface. They kept telling her that they loved her, convinced her that it wasn’t her fault, and that somehow, there was a reason for all this. They also said that they believed she was the only one who could fix this. Asha had no reason to believe it; she clearly only had destructive powers, why would they think she could fix this? Why would they think she could help anyone?

But her parents continued showing their complete faith in her, begging her to just try, to find the part of her that was good. They knew she could do it. She was a senshi—a guardian and a defender of justice. She was not meant to bring death. The pain and the haunted faces of everyone else around her finally brought forth that desperate desire to make everything better, and she closed her eyes and focused only on that. She didn’t know if she truly had the power her parents were convinced she did, but she had to at least try.

And so from her power poured forth once again, but this time it was the opposite of the one before. This time, it was hope. It enveloped the room like a warm light, saving everyone that had been plunged into despair. The ones who had died she couldn’t save, though, as she had no power to bring back anyone from the dead. Those deaths would forever be on her conscience. And she knew that they would only be the first ones.

For Sailor Pandora was a senshi of duality; of hope and despair, and she was incredibly dangerous if not kept in check. Her powers were difficult to control, and so she withdrew from society to a remote place in order to learn it better without hurting anyone.

It took months but she finally gained some semblance of control over it. It wasn’t one hundred percent, and as it was tied to her emotions, every time she experienced a turmoil, she would accidentally unleash the destructive power all over again. But she was getting better at summoning the other power—the good one—the one that balanced and fixed the destruction brought forth by the other half. Her life felt like constantly balancing on a tightrope, afraid of tipping to one side and leaving destruction on her wake. Ever since becoming Sailor Pandora, Asha had become even more withdrawn and quiet, as if she was afraid even if she so much as speak or try to live normally again, her control over her powers might break. It was a daily struggle, but a burden that she was destined to bear.

Soon she was known not only in Pandora but also throughout Saturn; the senshi that struck fear into people’s hearts when they so much as saw a glimpse of her black cape and hear the click of her black boots. Everyone steered clear of her path and no one wanted anything to do with her anymore except for her adoptive parents. No one in Pandora was proud of their senshi—instead they viewed her as a curse.

Despite this, she was still a legitimate senshi of Saturn, and so when they began to gather and band together to fight Chaos, Sailor Pandora was invited. No one actually expected her to turn up since no one had seen her in at least two years by that point, but she did show up. And though the other senshi were wary of her powers, she fought valiantly and utilized her power to the best of her ability. There were only minor incidents that involved accidentally hurting her companions but no one was killed, and by the end of it the others had somewhat warmed up to her a bit more. At least they weren’t afraid of her anymore, and some even respected her powers and the way she constantly kept it under control.

When the mission came to find the Talismans that supposedly could awaken their planet’s senshi, Pandora once again stepped up and joined the team in their search. It was a noble mission and perhaps the most important one she would come across in her life, and she was determined to prove to everyone that she was worthy of being a true Saturn senshi.

Storyline Specific Information:
Birth of Silence: In the world before Silver Millennium, the world was filled with Chaos. To fight him, the Galaxy Cauldron created powerful star seeds that became sailor soldiers hailing from their respective planets. However, Saturn was the only one with no senshi. The senshi of Saturn's moons had to fight for the planet led by Sailor Titan. After Chaos was driven back, the other planets created an alliance, but once again left out Saturn. A Seer comes to the senshi, and tells them of a vision she has seen, a vision that will awaken Sailor Saturn, a most powerful senshi. Bound by duty and by a love for their mother planet, Sailor Titan and the other senshi of Saturn's moons go to find these “Talismans” that the Seer told them of, all in the hopes of finally awakening Saturn’s princess senshi.

Senshi Fuku: Pandora's signature color is black and deep purple. The bodice of her sailor fuku is white. Her sailor collar, cape, and her skirt are black, though her skirt has purple and white lines on its edge. Her thigh-high boots are black with purple criss-crossing ribbons with a black gem on every point they cross. Her tiara and bracers are silver, and a black gem adorns her tiara. Her front and back bow are deep purple. She also wears silver crescent moon earrings, and her sailor sleeves resemble that of flower petals in sheer white. Her choker is also black and she has a black brooch on her front bow.



Powers:
Sorrowful Blight: Pandora's most feared attack, which has the ability to blanket a reasonably large area with the feeling of despair. It materializes in the form of a dark mist and influences everyone within range, bringing their darkest thoughts to the forefront, negating the good things in their life and pushing them to the brink, able to result in them killing themselves or attacking others they view as guilty for their predicament, or out of simple envy for their better lives. It can easily incite chaos among a group of people. However, it can be fought off by people with strong will and those whose love for others overpowers their own selfishness.
Hopeful Radiance: The opposite of her first power, this one functions much the same way, except it infects people with hope. It materializes in the form of bright white light. It reminds people of the goodness in their lives and their heart and gives them a reason to fight against the bad things.
Dark Shadow Curse: A projectile attack that allows her to send powerful forces of destructive energy toward her opponent to injure and/or kill them, depending on their power levels. The attack manifest in the form of deadly black spheres.

Weapons or Magical Items: Pandora has a staff with an orb on top of it. When it is in inactive state, the orb resembles the yin-yang symbol; half white and half black. When her Sorrowful Blight is unleashed, the orb will flash black. Similarly, if Hopeful Radiance is activated, the orb will flash white. The staff is mostly used to channel her magical powers and does not function as a physical weapon.

RP Sample: Pandora had heard the call. The call for all Saturn’s senshi to gather and look for their lost princess. At first, she had been hesitant to answer it. After all, her powers were dangerous. As much as she liked the idea of fighting alongside other Saturnian senshi and taking her place among them, she was terrified about what her powers could do to them. As always, Pandora was torn between two opposing sides. One part of her wanted to be the proud soldier that she knew she was meant to be. Prove that she could be useful, prove that she was awakened for good reasons. Prove that she was not born just for death and destruction.

And yet what if she couldn’t control her powers still? What if it ended up backfiring and she ended up eradicating her fellow senshi? That would be a horrifying outcome. Not only would she be responsible for the deaths of other senshi, but also it would cement everyone’s belief that all she could bring was bad things. And it would just be nice if she could keep hiding so that she couldn’t hurt anyone ever again.

But was it wise to deny her true calling? She had been chosen to wield this power for a reason. She was not meant to squander it, to hide it away from the world. She knew deep inside that she could do good things with it, if she was just brave enough. Strong enough.

Contemplating the idea for the last time, Pandora tightened her grip on her staff and stepped out of the safety of her little cabin in the middle of nowhere… and headed toward the meeting point for the Saturnian senshi gathering.

She would take her rightful place among them.

It was where she was meant to be.

She was sure of it.

It's been quite a while since you posted this profile, and you seem fairly close to being finished! Do you need help?

I actually have a more completed version saved that I haven't posted yet ^^ I only need help figuring out her weapon left! I can't seem to find one that suits her. I keep imagining some sort of staff but I don't want it to be too identical to Saturn's. Something that resembles duality or hope and despair.

perhaps something that has black and white? the staff part like Saturns, but a curved blade with an orb inside of the curve?

Ooh, I like that, thank you! I've now added it and completed the profile. I don't have any ideas what to call the rod, though. If I get a name later, I'll add it in. (Feel free to give suggestions too!)

Ahh, I love her xD The duality of her powers is really cool, and I just want to hug her to cheer her up, but I think she wouldn't appreciate that very much hehe I can't wait to see if she is able to feel more comfortable throughout the Birth of Silence RP. I'm looking forward to seeing her in action!
