Just wondering, since I've seen them paired with the inner Senshi. I haven't read all the manga, forgive my ignorance.

In the manga (if you don't mind the spoilers), they weren't always evil. They were once Endymion's generals and guardians much like the inner senshi are Serenity's. The pairing is also not always considered 100% canon as it only appears in artworks but never indicated in the story at all (except for tiny hints of Venus/Kunzite) ^^

the manga also says they were reborn too, and like the others their memories were lost to them.. so it sounds like beryl found them and brained washed them, once again..
