PostSubject: Watching Sera Myu...   Watching Sera Myu... I_icon_minitime2nd May 2013, 11:04 am

Using the Miss Dream links and watching them in order. You can just watch the budget increase with each installment...interesting to see.

1995 Musical Sailor Moon Ongakushu:
Well, this one was just songs. Pretty nice I guess.

1996 Summer - Sailor Moon Sailor Stars: Not bad. Not great either. Catchy songs. The "dark" Galaxia was never explained...

1997 Summer - Eien Densetsu: This one was better but why were the Three Lights such idiots when not in Sailor form? (I'm stairs!) Pretty random choice for comic relief characters. Overall the best one I've watched so far. Teared up a little when Beryl died.

2000 Summer - Kessen - Transylvania no Mori:
What the flippity flying f-- is even going on in this one?! I'm still watching it, about halfway through...but really, it makes almost no sense. I think something may be getting lost in translation...Yeah this one is just...incomprehensible. Other than that, the individual sailor songs are cool!

2002 Summer - Mugen Gakuen - Mistress Labyrinth: Watching it now...Mamoru has the best facial expressions in the opening scene. Who the heck are these pink-haired people...other than that, it seems to be a pretty straight adaptation of the manga/anime.

2001 Summer - Starlights! Ryuusei Densetsu: This one had the best ending/climax songs and action. Really well integrated.

And now I'm watching the ones on SeraMyuAnitcs! The gratuitous English in these things getting grating but other than that they're pretty good.

Gaiden Dark Kingdom
Fukkatsu Hen:
Fine...this one was all right I guess. Not the best. I wonder how many times I'm going to hear "Sailor War" in these things. I mean I like it a lot, but wow so many different versions!

SailormoonS - Usagi · Ai no Senshi he no Michi: Well I never really liked Chibi Moon but this is my favorite story arc besides the first one--too bad it was pretty lame. At least now I know where that version of Tuxedo Mission from the Ongakushu comes from...with like five Tuxedo Masks.

Sailormoon SuperS - Yume Senshi · Ai · Eien ni...: Not bad actually--finally covered the Pegasus arc. I wish Nehelenia had actually done something tough, since I really like her...Throwing Saturn in there was fairly random but okay...

Sailormoon SuperS - Yume Senshi · Ai · Eien ni... Kaiteiban - Saturn Fukkatsu Hen: Ridiculously long title! This one was better than the previous iteration--yay Nehelenia! And making the Saturn bit more believable! Woo!

Sailormoon SailorStars Kaiteiban: Not the best. Not bad either. Since there's so many of these it's interesting to see what they change between them.

Eien Densetsu Kaiteiban - The Final First Stage!!: This one won't load.

Eien Densetsu Kaiteiban - Senshuuraku: So much Fourth Wall Breaking!

Shin Densetsu Kourin: WHa...Pegasus Arc AND the Stars Arc in one? This is too much...though so far they're working for Beryl, instead of the Shittenou. Lol at Tiger's Eye making fun of Galaxia. "She is...my..." Also Hawks' Eye breaking out into the Three Lights' song was flippin' hilarious. The video stopped working near the end, unfortunately.

Kaguya Shima Densetsu: Snow Princess Kagua, maybe? Eh...never really liked that particular arc...

Last Dracul Jyokyoku: Oh boy, here we go...hopefully this plot will make more sense after watching them in order...

Transylvania no Mori Kaiteiban: And the remake.

Chou Wakusei Death Vulcan no Fuuin: The sequel...

Ankoku no Princess Black Lady: Well Black Lady was always awesome and I wish she would never go back to being ChibiUsa.

Ai no Sanctuary: Looks like SuperS again?

Kakyuu-ouhi Kourin: More Stars perhaps? Sooo many!

Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu: And...Kaguya? SuperS?

Okay, with 2000 Summer Transylvania no Mori, you REALLY need to watch Last Dracul (the musical before it) to get a better understanding of Transylvania no Mori. I would recommend getting ahold of some of the other musicals, you are missing out on sooooo many as Miss Dream has only done a few.

Anyway, pretty much with the vampire musicals, you should watch them in order (unlike the other Myus where you don't really need to at all). So watch Last Dracul Jyokyoku, Transylvania no Mori, Transylvania no Mori Kateiban (its the revision and sort of a sequel as well), and then Chou Wakusei Death Vulcan no Fuuin.

Seramyuantics.net has them up for your viewing pleasure here: http://www.seramyuantics.net/video/thirdstage.htm Smile

Also you may want to watch TnM a few times to start to understand it. I've watched it maybe 2 or 3 times and I notice things more and more each time. It doesn't help that they speak RIDICULOUSLY fast in that one too. xD

I have to agree with this. The only reason I went ahead and finished TnM after I found out about the one before it was becaus three of my favorite Myu actresses were in it. but watching them in order really does help to understand them. I had no problems understanding the others as I watched them out of order and boy did I watch them out of order. but the dracul series is not one of those you can do that with (although now that I have seen them all I will watch them out of order but I can understand whats going on in each one now.) but yes I also find I'm discovering new things as I rewatch it.

and from the one's listed you'v missed several Anza musicals since she played Moon for fie years before they went through a cast change. and I would definantly suggest the Kaguya Shima musicals I loved them. but yea their were several of the musicals witht he other moons that were not listed either. Some of them were really great others were good but not one's I watch to often but I still actually kind of love them. It will take a bit of time to watch through the all but I would highly recomend it though I would probably watch from the dark kingdom musicals all the way up to I think Shin Kaguya Shima was the final one. though I'm probabl not one to talk since Starlights ryuusei Densentsu and than I didn't watch mugan Kitaban. I think the only reason I watch that last one was for the actress playing jadeite. but yea I myself am about to watch from the beggining to the end.

Okay, thanks for pointing that out.

Still, the whole vampire concept is a bit strange. Vampires that are spirits of the earth or something, plus some random Hebrew mythology, plus a "hidden" planet near the sun...

Oh well, I'll look into it, then.

If you browse through older threads in the Myu section, I believe we had some discussion threads on those musicals. They are abit interesting, especially TnM. I think TnM was purposefully made a bit more complex than the other musicals. Cause the other Dracul musicals aren't nearly as confusing as this one.

It's been a while since I watched these, I think i'll try to fit them into the livestream schedule at some point this year.

I think it was one of the little side story things I haven't really gotten to far in the manga yet. and yes their are that's why I said it was probably going to take a bit of time to watch through them all.

Yep they were a side story (really cute too). One of the SuperS special eps is taken from the manga side story. So even though it wasn't a huge plot, they are there. Which is possibly what the Musicals kinda took from.

Basically Dracul is a remake of the never recorded musical Sailor Moon S - Henshin - Super Senshi e no Michi (which is like the kaiteiban to Sailor Moon S - Usagi Ai no Senshi e no Michi) with an added vampire flair. So thats why you see the Professor Tomoe in that one. Transylvania no Mori is about Bloody Dracul Vampir's (daughter of Dracul) revenge on the Sailor Senshi for her father.

They are all so good. xD

I don't like them JUST because of Hikari and Nao (cause Hikari isn't in Last Dracul anyway), but yeah, those are good reasons. xD
