Seiya looked around her small apartment. It was fairly humble she thought, though others had called it extravagant. It was at the top of a highly rated apartment complex, so it had a beautiful view of the city and the distant ocean, always the best at night when the city glowed gently from its lights and the ocean reflected the moonlight in its waves. It had a nice foyer, with little cubicles for guests shoes and comfy soft slippers to wear around the apartment.

She had picked out an especially adorable pair of extra fluffy pale pink bunny slippers with squishy padding on the inside and laid it by the front door for Usagi. Then there was a living room, quite large and well furnished, having a large and plush sofa and matching chairs, with an extra plushy carpet on the floor, with a large sliding glass door that led out to a comfortable balcony where a table and some chairs had been set up. She enjoyed standing on that balcony and watching the horizon, enjoying a small midnight snack.

There was a large flat screen television set up in front of the sofa, and she had laid out at least four large comforters on the floor in front of the television with plenty of large pillows, and a small collection of adorable animal pillows she thought Usagi would enjoy. A rabbit, a teddy bear, a penguin, and a panda bear. She nodded with satisfaction. She had bought the pillows at a store, after taking almost two hours with that poor associate trying to decide which were the MOST adorable. A momentary panic as she realized she had forgotten blankets.

She quickly ran to the bedroom to retrieve them. Here the floor was carpeted as well, and there was a king sized bed made up with satin sheets. Her closet was full of clothes, a mix of male and female, the same with shoes. A vanity was also set up for her beautification process. She had to look good, male or female. She took a moment to give her ponytail a brief brush and check her outfit, comfortable shorts and button up top, then went over to a cherry wood boudoir next to her second balcony with french doors and opened it. She thought a moment then pulled out three micro fleece blankets, suitably fuzzy and comfy for a sleep over. She glanced at the television, a pile of movie and anime dvds set on the stand, awaiting to be chosen and enjoyed through the night.

She left the bedroom and laid the blankets out on the makeshift bed on the floor, smiling in relief as she looked it over. That had been a close call. Then she went and checked the kitchen. It was fair sized, with a large refrigerator, stove and microwave. She opened the oven door a moment, inhaling the scents that came out. She had hand made a large pizza with all kinds of toppings, macaroni and cheese, and she had even taken the time to make a large batch of chocolate chunk cookies.

Dinner was all set! She checked the refrigerator and freezer. Ice cream, in vanilla, strawberry and cookie flavors, to be complimented with hot fudge and whipped cream. Plenty of soda choices and fresh milk. She glanced at the counter, where two bags of chips and popcorn, extra butter, had been placed, waiting patiently to be opened. The dining room, large with a beautiful mahogany dining table and matching chairs, and china cabinet, would be left unused tonight. She took a deep breath as she closed the refrigerator door after grabbing a coke and popped it open, taking a swig as she looked over the living room one more time. Now she just had to wait for Odango to show up.

Seiya's visits were always her favorite time of year.

Usagi practically bounced all the way to her close friend's apartment, the broad grin on her face unable to be fazed. Although it was a long walk, Usagi refused to take her new car at her mother's urgency. She was filled with so much energy - there was no way she could possibly contain it into a driver's seat. Sure, it may be getting a little dark out, and sure, Usagi might have a heavy backpack on her shoulders, but it would all be okay. Why? Because she would be spending the evening with Seiya, of course.

As she walked, Usagi hummed a happy tune to herself. There were few other pedestrians out at this hour, but every now and then a car would pass her and she would wave exuberantly. A part of her felt slightly guilty - after all, Seiya would be the one having to deal with her hyperactivity. 

After what seemed like forever, Usagi finally found herself at the apartment complex her fellow senshi lived in. With a smile on her face, she bounded into the main lobby and towards the elevator. The operator within asked her what floor, and when she answered, "Penthouse, please!" he raised a skeptical eyebrow. Everyone knew of the wealthy citizen who dwelled in the penthouse, but it was not often they received any visitors. 

As the elevator went up, Usagi jumped up and down repeatedly, getting the flying sensation she always loved. The operator began to truly feel concern over the girl's well-being, but by the time the elevator stopped, Usagi was already long gone. 

Standing outside of the door, Usagi knocked repeatedly, not stopping until Seiya would open the door. 

"Seiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa open the doooooooooooooooor!"

Seiya had been sitting in a chair, drinking her soda slowly and looking out the glass of the balcony towards the horizon. She was beginning to wonder if Usagi was going to be late...some habits were probably just too hard to break. A sudden frantic banging nearly made her spit out the soda in her mouth, and she quickly swallowed, a mistake she swiftly realized as she began coughing hard. She set the can down and pounded on her chest a bit, inhaling hard to get the air into her lungs. She stood up, coughing and clearing her throat as she threw out quickly, “Be right there!”

She took a few more moments to clear her throat hard and get herself back to normal before she walked to the door, cringing a little even as she smiled a bit at Usagi's continuous knocking. Well at least she was definitely excited! Seiya could take happiness from that. She cleared her throat lightly one more time before she opened the door, feeling that usual knot of excitement and nervousness in her stomach at seeing the bubbly blonde once more.

As soon as the door began to swing open, Usagi threw herself forward and wrapped her arms around Seiya's neck, hugging her tightly. Since Seiya was much taller, Usagi's feet were off of the ground, but she didn't mind. She was just so happy to see Seiya again - it had been far too long. 

"Seiya! I missed you so much!" Usagi exclaimed, tears forming in her eyes. It seemed like only yesterday she had fought alongside the Starlight against Galaxia, the biggest threat the universe had ever seen. And now, years later, they were both alive and having a sleepover. 

The thought itself hit Usagi like a brick wall every time.

One moment she was opening the door, the next she realized she was stumbling backwards with a double armful of girl. She half wished she was in her male form, where she was stronger and less likely to be knocked back, but then again, Usagi did seem to always have a remarkable amount of strength for such a small frame. She had a brief mental image of Usagi doing some large weightlifting and smiled. She chuckled aloud for the blonde's benefit, and mentally thanked the gods she hadn't actually fallen.

And her heart warmed more as Usagi's words reached her ears. It was always nice to know she had actually thought of her and missed her while she was on Kinmoku. It meant something at least. She gave Usagi a brief but tight squeeze before gently setting her down on the floor and quickly became vaguely alarmed by the tears in her eyes. “Hey Odango. Come on, don't cry! It's only been 7 months since we last hung out! Hey, hey remember that camera you gave me? I used it to take pictures of Kinmoku, like you wanted to see remember? The royal palace and gardens, and the cities, and everything, remember??” She desperately hoped it was enough to sidetrack the blonde onto a happier train of thought.

Usagi smiled brightly, wiping the tears that were beginning to fall. She loved the feeling of being in Seiya's embrace - the Kinmoku native was always so warm and comforting. 

"Oh, let me see! How are you all doing? Has everything been rebuilt? How's the princess? Are Yaten and Taiki still causing trouble for you? I hope the population is increasing. No new threats, right? Do I smell pizza?"

The small girl was filled with so much energy, and she was trying her absolute best not to melt into a blubbering mass of emotions and tears. She had always been an emotional teenager, and especially during her last year of high school, her hormones had been even more active. It was nice to be with Seiya again and attempt to escape from all of the stress and chaos going on around her.

Well she was still crying, but smiling now. That was some kind of accomplishment. She smiled at the barrage of questions in response to her statement and closed the door, locking it casually. “Of course.” She said warmly and stepped up, then motioned to the bunny slippers she had laid out for Usagi, mentally preparing herself for the shriek of delight sure to come. “We're all doing quite fine. We've actually made some improvements with our rebuild, but some things are still difficult and being discussed. Nobles wanting bigger houses, complaints about the position of buildings, where to put this and that, what old buildings to preserve. It's mostly Princess' headache. But she's holding up well. I think she's just happy to be home more than anything else. And of course my sisters are still a pain! Why do you think I come here? I gotta get away from them for a while.” She grinned widely as she began heading towards a cabinet, where she had stashed the camera.

“The population is still lower than we'd like...but Kakyuu's had us finding survivors of other planets ruined by Galaxia...offering them a new home. Some accept, some don't. And the only threats we get are empty ones.” She laughed as she took the small camera out of a drawer.

Usagi's eyes widened in awe as she spotted the adorable bunny slippers that were waiting her.

"SEIYA THEY'RE SOOOO CUTE!" she squealed, kicking off her shoes and quickly putting them on. The comfortable slippers cushioned her feet, and they were just as soft as a rabbit would be. And the bunny's eyes were so unbearbly adorable. Seiya knew Usagi so well.

Usagi smiled as she listened to Seiya's description of her home. It was good to know that the people of Kinmoku were starting to get back on their feet again. The Starlights and their princess had worked so hard, after all. If anyone deserved a successful future, it was them.

Placing a hand on her hip, the blonde teen's demeanor suddenly changed. Her eyes were serious, but kind at the same time. "And how are you, Seiya?"

Her eyes flicked towards the camera, eager to see the pictures of Seiya's home.

Seiya smiled, even as his eardrums protested to the loud noise. Good, she definitely liked the slippers. Then she had turned a little serious, which surprised Seiya. She was still used to the time when the only time Usagi would be serious was when she was Sailor Moon. But she supposed three or four years was certainly enough time for the girl to mature. She smiled at the thought, an expression which faltered as she heard the question.

How do you answer something like that? She was a lot of things, many of which she had decided she would never really be able to say to Usagi, she had tried when they first met. And it had gone over her head. She constantly thought of Usagi and wondered about her, and wished for things that would never happen...unless you believed that alternate universe stuff Taiki would spout in her moments of trying to comfort and convince her to move on.

She paused a moment before she smiled again, a slightly flamboyant expression now. “Well what do you expect Odango? I get fawned over whichever planet I'm on, rightly so of course. I've actually managed to convince Taiki and Yaten to keep their positions of the Three Lights, and we hold concerts for morale on Kinmoku. So I’m becoming even more famous than usual.” She laughed and came over to Usagi with the camera, holding it up for her and flipping through the pictures in it.

Usagi stared up at Seiya, her eyes bright and full of curiosity. Seiya seemed to be avoiding her question, and even though Usagi truly wanted to know how Seiya was feeling, she figured now may not be the best time to pry. Maybe as the night went on, she would get Seiya to open up.

"That's good to hear! Don't forget - I expect a copy of every song and album you guys make! Don't leave me in the dark, Seiya," Usagi teased, wiggling her index finger in Seiya's face.

Distracted by the photos in the camera, Usagi completely forgot about Seiya's concerts as she perused through the camera. The images were all gorgeous - it was clear Kinmoku was really beginning to boost. It was comforting to see that the battle Usagi fought against Galaxia was allowing planets like Kinmoku to regain their former glory.

They reached the end of the photos and Usagi smiled again. "Kinmoku is looking great! You all have done a fantastic job. I hope to visit someday," the blonde said, winking at Seiya as she headed for the pizza.

"Mmm, everything on it - my favorite!" she giggled, grabbing a plate and piling four pieces onto it. "You're the best, Seiya."

Seiya smiled as she went through the pictures. Her people had been extraordinarily curious and baffled by the mechanical thing she had brought with her. Some had been terrified when they saw it captured an image of them, and others were delighted, wanting to have a camera of their own. They had never really invented such a thing, being a more nature based planet. She laughed a bit at Usagi's insistence for copies. “Well, we haven't exactly gotten around to making cd's on Kinmoku. We have teleportation and transportation technology, but we don't have the entertainment stuff Earth does. No tv's, no cameras, so on. But thanks to Earth, we're working on developing our own. But don't worry Odango, you'll get a signed copy of everything, promise!” She grinned widely.

She watched as Usagi went for the kitchen, not surprising. How she could eat so much and remain so slender was still a baffling mystery to her, but after all these years, she decided to just take it into stride. “Oh if you did, I'd have a pretty dress made up all special for you in the Kinmoku style. You would be visiting royalty after all.” She smiled dreamily for a moment, imagining such a dress as best she could in her head. She was broken out of her minor daydream when she heard her home made pizza being complimented and grinned, deciding to grab a slice for herself. “Hey, when you live alone, you gotta learn how to cook!” She smiled and looked over at Usagi, speaking sincerely now. “And I want to make you happy.”

Usagi's cheeks were beginning to hurt from how much she had been smiling. When Seiya laughed, it just stirred something deep within Usagi that made her want to laugh too. She was enjoying the night so much, and it had only just begun. She knew Seiya would have all sorts of fun things planned - after all, it was clear she had took her time in setting up. 

She blushed when Seiya said she wanted to make Usagi happy. Seiya had always been so sweet and caring - it was nice knowing that someone cared so much about her to do so many kind things. The thought of waltzing through Kinmoku in a grand, beautiful dress made Usagi giggle. She had gotten better at wearing dresses and walking in heels since her first attempt at age 14, but she still wasn't the most graceful person in the world. She hoped that, if she ever did go to Kinmoku, she wouldn't make a complete fool of herself. She would be representing Earth, after all.

The blonde couldn't be more happy with all of the food that had been set out. After scarfing down multiple pieces of pizza, she began to munch on some chips. It was then that Usagi spotted the cookies. Her eyes widened to the size of saucers, and Usagi took a careful step toward them. 

"Seiya, you made cookies?! I LOVE YOU!"

Without any further hesitation, Usagi grabbed five cookies and plopped them onto her plate. With a big grin, she began to eat them as if she were a starving child who hadn't tasted a cookie before. 

"You're the best cook ever!" she said, her mouth full of food.

She watched Usagi, taking simple pleasure from her happiness. And she smiled when her suggestion of a Kinmokuian dress just for her made the blonde giggle. Maybe she would do just that, and bring it back as a surprise the next time she went back home. She'd make the designers come up with multiple designs so she could figure out just the right one. What colors would best suit her? White and pink? Or perhaps blue, since the color complimented blondes immensely...or maybe gold would compliment her sunny hair better instead. Or maybe silver? She did possess the Silver Crystal, and was deeply associated with the moon...that lead her to wonder what kind of patterns, stars or crescents-

She was shocked out of her musing at Usagi's latest outburst. She blinked rapidly, staring at Usagi a moment until her brain registered what she was talking about. Her heart grew warm at the words though, even if she knew it wasn't the type of love Seiya rather hoped for. It was good enough. But that didn't stop her from mentally saying, “I love you too” before she spoke.

To cover up her sentimental moment, her voice took on a teasing tone. “Well I had to learn how to cook well, otherwise I'd go bankrupt with all the food I'd have to buy just to keep you fed.”

Usagi paused mid-chew and pouted, crossing her arms over your chest. "You're just jealous that food likes me more than it likes you," she said, going back to finishing her cookie. Feeling full for the moment, Usagi smiled and grabbed Seiya's arm, pulling her out of the kitchen and towards the best room in the entire house.

The Karaoke Room.

Usagi threw open the door, happy to find everything just as perfect as it was when she had left it. Another squeal of delight rang through the penthouse as Usagi rushed into the center of the room. Her facial expression suddenly changed, taking on the form of a sailor guardian ready to battle. Her arms were crossed in her traditional "Oshiokiyo!" fashion as a competitive sparkle appeared in the teenager's eyes.

"In the name of the Moon, I, Tsukino Usagi, challenge you to a karaoke battle! Winner gets all the cookies!"

Seiya chuckled a bit at Usagi's rather nonsensical response, it sounded funny at least, so she didn't take it very personally. Then she blinked in surprise when she felt her arm being grabbed, and the surprise quickly faded as she was tugged through the apartment. Of course they always ended up here, at one point or another.

They stepped into a room, which had been made out as a personal arcade. Various fighting and dancing games had been set up, along with motorcycle and car racing games, and a rather fun dinosaur shooting game with a “car” booth that bounced up and down the the scenery on the screen. She distantly remember the ordeal with the electrician getting everything properly set up for the arcade so it would run smoothly without interrupting any of the electrical near by. And of course, there was the object of Usagi's fascination.

A giant flat screen television with a large karaoke system set up attached to it. It had an option where you could insert disks of karaoke songs, or choose from the rather large database inside the system. She mentally cringed, remembering the handful of times she had acquiescenced to Usagi bringing over her friends, and the blonde who wanted to be an idol had taken special delight in the system. Who knew someone could actually go five hours straight singing and dancing? At least she had done different songs. Seiya quickly brought herself back to the present, and smiled good naturedly. “So, what will we play first Odango?”

Usagi giggled. Did Seiya really have to ask?

"We are singing first, duh!" she said, thrusting a microphone for Seiya to take. She went to turn on the karaoke machine, but paused. Where was the power button again?

The large box was covered in so many dials and buttons that it was impossible to tell what control operated what function. Her finger hovered in the air as Usagi chewed on her bottom lip, unsure of what to do. But she didn't want to look like an idiot in front of Seiya...

"Um...remind me, which color turns this thing on...?"

She only continued to smile, taking the microphone from the blonde. One track mind, but it was adorable in one who remained so innocent and pure. She gave the microphone a flamboyant little twirl in her fingers like a baton, then couldn't help but laugh at Usagi's hesitation, though she quickly changed the tone so she wouldn't feel hurt.

“The one with the circle and the line in it Odango. Wow, you play this thing so many times, you'd think you'd have it as memorized as that friend of yours Minako!” She continued to smile none the less. Nothing could ever really make her think any less of Usagi.

Usagi giggled and pressed the button Seiya described, inserting the disc she wanted and stepping back as the screen came to life. Music filled the room and Usagi went into full-competitive mode. This was one of those games where it measured your voice to see if you were singing it right, and she was determined to beat Seiya for once.

Playfully, Usagi bumped Seiya's hip with her own, hard enough to shove Seiya to the side. Laughing, Usagi started singing "Nagareboshi He", her favorite song by the Three Lights. Immediately, her voice started off off-key and too low, but she felt like she was doing an amazing job.

Better than Seiya, she smirked. There was no way Seiya would beat her this time.

Seiya watched her turning on the system, setting it up and picking the song she wanted, idly twirling the microphone in her fingers still. She looked at the screen then blinked in surprise as she stumbled a little and smirked at Usagi, recognizing the competitive sparkle in her eye.

Oh it was on. She recognized the song after only a few beats and her smirk grew. The poor sweet fool. She was going down. She cringed at the off key notes in Usagi's voice, to the point where she almost missed her entrance. She took a deep breath, and didn't even have to look at the screen. Sure she was singing Yaten's part while Usagi sang hers, but she knew this song by heart from all the times she played it, and the fact she was a woman now made no difference. She began to sing, weaving her voice around the notes of the song.

Usagi's eyebrows furrowed together when she realized Seiya was beating her. Her score was extremely low, while Seiya's kept climbing higher and higher. The song was ending, and Usagi strained her voice to reach a note, hoping against hope that it would be enough to bring her score up.

But she missed the note, and her score remained the same.

The song ended, and Usagi placed one hand over her hip. "Whatever, I'm pretty sure this game is broken now anyway," she grumbled when the screen flashed, saying that Seiya had won. One of these days, she would beat Seiya. 

"Well, since you obviously rigged the machine, we need to find something else to do," Usagi said, rolling her eyes at Seiya.

She kept singing, still not bothering to look at the screen, though she found herself having to resist the urge to fall into the choreography for the dance. She had been an idol for too long, it was second nature now! She held the microphone with both hands as she sang the final notes, then looked at the screen finally, and found herself smirking at the words flashing on the screen. Her smirk turned vaguely guilty as she saw Usagi sulking and gave a helpless shrug. “Hey. I was an idol after all! And popular.” She gave a flip of her ponytail, and only found herself laughing at Usagi's accusation of rigging the karaoke machine.

“Alright then. Here, how about some racing?” she walked over to the dual consoled games, the racing car version with the cockpit booths and the model motorcycles that tilted left and right to control the game. “Your choice.” She smiled warmly as she stood between them.

Usagi's damper mood was instantly turned around when Seiya mentioned racing.

She was really good at racing.

Haruka had taught her quite a few good tricks, and both Usagi and Minako had been getting really good over the years. Usagi grinned and plopped down onto the chair of the cockpit booth. "This one!" she said, turning the wheel wildly. Seiya was about to eat her dust.

Usagi quickly chose her character and her car, letting Seiya choose the race track so they could begin. She revved her car a few times, teasing Seiya like she liked to do to Minako. The game beeped three times, and Usagi pressed her foot down on the gas. Her car was off on a great start, and she slid into third, then second. She was only one car away from first, but she couldn't tell if the car in front of her was Seiya's or the computer's. 

"You're going down this time!" she yelled, ramming her car into the bumper of the car in front of her.

No surprise, Usagi's mood had lifted at the suggestion of the racing game. She had mentally debating a moment, wondering if she would choose the motorcycle game for once, but she went for the racing car. She probably didn't like the sensation of almost about to fall off when you completely leaned to one side, despite the fact the model was safely bolted down. Seiya climbed into the other car booth and picked her car. She listened to the beeps as well and pushed down hard on the gas pedal.

Her car in the game jerked forward, only for her to spiral and crash rather extravagantly into the barrier on the side of the road. Seiya quickly spun the wheel a few times to get back on the right track, covering her franticness with cool confidence. There was no way Usagi would be able to figure out she was currently in 6th place. And she crashed again.

Usagi was gaining on the car in front of her, and finally she was able to pull in front of it during the last lap. She squealed in excitement as she neared the finish line, and finally she crossed it. Although just barely, she won first place and beat Seiya.

The audio of the game began to play victory music, and Usagi playfully shoved Seiya out of her seat. "I got you this time, ha!" she said, sticking her tongue out. Laughing, she slid out of the seat and flashed her signature Sailor Moon pose once more. "Honestly Seiya, I don't know how you could ever get bored here. This place is like heaven."

The word heaven always sent a chill down Usagi's spine. The memory of standing there alone in the realm of blue skies and clouds always brought tears to Usagi's eyes, even though the area was once filled with the spirits of her friends. The thought of losing them like she did during their last battle always caused her to get teary-eyed. It was something she had tried to get over during the last two years, but trauma like that never really leaves a person. 

Shaking the thought from her head, Usagi looked around the room. What to do, what to do...

She suddenly snapped her fingers when she laid eyes on Seiya.

"I want to do your hair!"

Seiya bit her bottom lip as she twisted the wheel hard this way and that, trying to keep that damned car straight. She was almost relieved when she crossed the finish line, never mind the fact she had slipped back into 9th place. She sighed a little then was shoved a bit by Usagi, and she looked over, listening to the blonde gloat. She took a brief breath then laughed a bit. “Hey, 2nd place isn't too bad!” She lied, standing up from the car and chuckled to see Usagi in her Sailor Moon pose. Some things just never changed. “Well I never really said I got bored here, now did I?” she teased. Then she blinked a bit. Was that a dark, sad look passing through her eyes?

But it passed, and Seiya decided she must have imagined it and shrugged it off. She saw the blonde's wandering eye and wondered what game she was going to want to play next, and was abruptly overtaken with dread and worry when Usagi made her suggestion. She struggled a moment to make herself disagree with the blonde, to put that notion out of her head, but in the end she lost. She deflated a little and begged pathetically, “Please no odangos...”

Usagi laughed and shook her head, leaving the room and heading towards the master bedroom. "I would never do something like that," she shouted over her shoulder. "Odangoes are my trademark, after all."

Usagi quickly went into the bathroom attached to the master bedroom and grabbed every object she could find that could be used on hair. Satisfied, she went back into the bedroom and told Seiya to sit on the bed while she organized the supplies. Seiya's hair was so long and beautiful - Usagi just loved playing with it. There were so many possibilities!

Seiya felt some relief that at least she wouldn't be subjected to Usagi's hairstyle. She shuddered slightly to picture such a thing. She followed after the blonde cautiously as she went into her bedroom, and felt a little fearful again as she saw her arms completely full of hair products. Oh god, what was she going to do? She was fighting the urge to run as she slowly sat down on her bed, eyeing the multitude of hair products warily. What had she agreed to?

Usagi smiled to herself as she pulled the ponytail-holder out of Seiya's hair and began to brush through the long, dark locks. Seiya had beautiful silky hair, and Usagi loved feeling it run through her fingers. It was like ribbon, she thought.

"Tell me about your childhood, Seiya," she said, sticking a bobby pin into her mouth. She began to braid Seiya's hair, making it look like a waterfall. Every now and then her clumsy fingers would drop a piece and she would have to back-track, but she was making good progress.

She sat quietly, fidgeting slightly as she felt Usagi untying her hair and brushing it, with the brush and her fingers. She could feel the difference and as she continued brushing through it, she found herself relaxing. When was the last time someone had done her hair for her? It must have been years, because it was hard to remember...perhaps when she was young and her mother had done it.

She was brought out of her reverie by Usagi's question and blinked a little, an image of her childhood home flashing through her mind briefly as she dimly felt Usagi braiding her hair. “Uh..my childhood? Well...I was the only princess. I lived on the moon Star Fighter that orbited Kinmoku for most of my childhood.
