Well there is no law saying Link has to be male. He is reborn many times throughout the series so there is a chance of him being born as a female.

I'm sure people are going to rant about this... seeing how people freaked out in the Zelda U trailer.....

They're being portrayed by females, but the character is still male.

I'm sure it's the same reasoning behind why most Peter Pans are female, because a male at that age would be too masculine for a "boy that never grows up". They probably just want to portray an adolescent Link, so a female is usually the way to go.

If they don't have link go "well excuuuuse me, princess" at any one point, I will be sourly disappointed.

Well it depends which Zelda game they're doing. If they're doing OoT I can see it for young link, but for adult Link they would need a male. Link is probably either 17 or 18 in the adult timeline. 

It would be nice if they did their own story instead of following a game. But I wouldn't mind seeing OoT. That game could use some fleshing out.

lol I don't see what's wrong with Link being female, whether the character itself is a girl or they're being played by a girl. As long as Link is still Link, I don't see what the big deal is. xP

and it made no mention whatsoever about a female Link. That could just be a rumor, for all we know.

The show itself seems like a rumor as well. Out of all of the video game series Zelda is a prefect one to make into a TV show. You can easily make an original plot seeing how Link and Zelda are reborn.

lol I'll believe it when a spokesperson comes out and says they're making it. All of the stuff I've read about it has just been really vague.

The Zelda cartoon is truly awful, and yet full of pure comedy gold.
