| We all are amused by his clothing, just admit it. I think this thread should be a little tribute to the poor guy's fashion faux pas. Post any ridiculous get ups you can find right here. If you've noticed any other characters bad tastes that you just can't get over, I think you should really share them with us. Cheers guys! |

| Normally, the fashion taste of the senshi and related characters do not bother me; I actually like some of the outfits they wear. But that... that outfit bothered me. |

| When I first read the title of this post and didn't read the actual posting yet I thought you were being serious. I think that the animators had some serious beef with Mamoru, because he is so cute in his outfits in the manga. I wonder why they made him change into a fashionably challenged lad? haha And what in the world were they thinking whenever they gave Mina that outfit? It's definitely..different. lol |

| Haha, nah. I love Mamoru, he looks dashing in a tux and can't go wrong in his green shirt. But some of his outfits are just nuts! Plus some other character's are the same. It was the 90s though. It all amuses me. I love to see what other's have found as well. I can't post anything yet because I'm a newbie and have to wait a week. |

| Haha, he's clearly got another set of the same shirt from above, just in a different colour! Even Motoki disapproves... No, no, no. And lastly, just for the irony of it all... |

| I just discovered that Mamoru's iconic green blazer and black turtleneck may have taken some inspiration from that other fashion icon, Darryl Hall of Hall and Oates. He wears a remarkably similar getup in the video for 'private eyes'.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anLfoy2XsFw
Although, I think that video predates Sailor Moon by about 12 years, which is quite a while in fashion. But there is no denying what works, and even a decade later, Mamo-chan really made the look his own.
It is now my headcanon that Mamoru is a huge Hall and Oates Fan. There are definitely worse qualities in a man I think. Somehow I feel closer to him now. |

| Mamoru had the worst fashion ever until he became King Endymion, or was Tuxedo Mask. Some of Makoto's outfits were pretty bad too because they were to girly, and frilly for her. I wish I could find an example. |

| Oh dear god, the jogging outfit. Why would anyone make that outfit into a coloring project?? Oh and the fact that this shirt was green and said Earth on the front just added to the shameless self-advertising and puns ahoy. XD (Mamoru is the protector of the Earth.) |

| I'm probably the ONLY person that will say this, but I really liked Mamoru's clothes in the anime. *waits to be sent to What Not to Wear* My favorite piece of clothing for hm is his pink shirt. I also like his forest green jacket. |

| I agree, thewhitemoonfamily! I don't see why everyone thinks he's so unfashionable. Maybe it's a leedle bit on the dorky side, but it's all very...Mamoru. Why would he spend so much time on worrying about his clothes, anyway? He's got more important things to do. Hey, whatever's comfortable, right?
The only outfits I don't like are the ones with rolled up sleeves. They make me think of sweaty armpits. D:
As for that outfit of Minako's, that's pretty typical "idol" gear. It's not like she was wearing it to the mall or something.
By the way, look what I found. |
