Does anyone else remember the Save Our Sailors campaign?  I remember they were a pretty big thing in Moonie fandom for several years, then they did that silly Prince Uranus thing and got a lot of flack for it, and then we went through this dry spell where we had virtually zero Sailor Moon in North America at all and they just randomly decided to disband or something.  I remember the SOS always taking credit for any sort of progress Sailor Moon was making in its release in the U.S. but it's like now we're finally getting the complete uncut release of our dreams, the SOS has been completely silent about it.  Like I would think some representative from that organization would create a new site in honor of Sailor Moon's return or make some sort of statement or something but there's like not a peep from them on their site and it's still the same as it's been from years.  I just always wondered what the SOS would think about these new developments or how they would try to spin it so they would take the credit for it like they sued to always do.

I very vaguely remember something about a Poptart buying campaign that SOS organized at one point to show the buying power of Sailor Moon fans. Or something like that, IDK. I imagine the people running the site might've moved on with life and the site is not longer active, even though it continues to exist on the internet. I mean, I was really into Sailor Moon for nearly a decade, but I drifted out of the fandom around the mid 2000's, and only recently did I get back on the wagon again. I'm guessing this probably also happened to a lot of the older fans from the 90's and early 2000's.

I can't say that I miss SOS. They were really bad at fact-checking and the endless propaganda was always hard for me to swallow. I think that it just reached a point where there was nothing useful that they could do (probably those involved didn't have time to focus on it anymore, either) and they fizzled out.

The whole poptart campaign never made much sense to me.  You'd think if you were going to show your support for Sailor Moon the best way would be to buy the merchandise or the home videos or something like that.   I also never understood why the SOS was so obsessed with the DiC dub.  I have a nostalgic attachment to the DiC dub myself but the SOS almost seemed to hate the original at times.  I remember at one point they were promoting this DiC style fandub of Sailor Stars even.

Yes, I definitely remember the SOS page.  I loved it.  Some of their information was wrong and they seemed a bit nuts, but it was still a fun page to visit and was very entertaining.

I converted the procott into a food drive of sorts, where you can place a special label on your donation, which notes that you are a sailormoon fan.
