| The Galaxy Cauldron is proud to announce its newest writing contest! The theme for this contest is:  "Other Reincarnations of Serenity and Endymion."  Voting is now OPEN! Entry #1- Spoiler:
To say it was a calm day would be an understatement. The past few years had been nothing but chaos, with the war picking up momentum, and Tokyo being either destroyed by bombs or American invasion, Endymion walked through the town and decided he had to leave. His day started like any other, he woke up and went to his job, work was growing thinner each day, with rations, and many resources used for the war effort work was becoming scarce fast. This morning would quickly take a turn. Endymion was cleaning the floor when he heard a big bang and moments later saw the smoke from what he guessed was another bombing. He ran out and saw that the smoke appeared to be very close. He went outside, locking the door behind him to get a closer look. As he got closer he could see the aftermath of the attack. It was a house down the way. He saw the American soldiers outside of the house. He guessed they had their weapons drawn by the screams of the people around him. He saw a soldier come out with another man who had dark hair and glasses. The soldiers were uttering something at the man, but Endymion had no clue what they were saying.
The other man appeared to have no idea what the Americans wanted and tried to get away from them but was unsuccessful. He turned to run, but one of the soldiers shot him. Just as the man fell to the ground, Endymion saw a girl with blonde hair with curls framing her small face; he guessed she was still very young. The girls face changed drastically as she came running towards the man who had just fallen to the ground. She screamed, Papa, Papa, Papa, and when she got no response she fell on him and sobbed. She shot up real fast and bolted into the house calling out for her mom and brother. She ran into the smoke infested house, returning minutes later, eyes glassed over. She walked out for a few steps before she dropped to her knees crying. The soldiers had already gone, and so had the crowd. The only person who was left was Endymion.
He saw the girl doubled over and trembling. He knew the pain she felt, he had lost his parents to the war early on. He walked over to the girl, got down on his knees and placed his hand on her back. She looked up at him through tears and had no words to say. She was also a little confused and frightened by this stranger, but when he pulled out his handkerchief and handed it to her. She decided or at least hoped he wouldn’t hurt her. As the raven haired man handed her the cloth he said his name was Endymion. After she wiped her face, the blonde told Endymion her name was Serenity. Endymion helped Serenity up and walked her to where he worked. He wanted to get her away from this tragedy she had just encountered.
Serenity walked in a daze, and Endymion was supporting her the entire time to prevent her from falling over. She hoped this man with eyes the color of oceans was truly someone who was going to help her and not cause her any more harm. When they reached the building where Endymion worked, he unlocked the door and the two walked through the door. He sat Usagi down at one of the booths and told her he would be right back. He brought her a bottle of coke and a small pastry, he placed it in front of her and sat in the spot across from her.
Endymion didn’t know what to say, but he started by saying sorry for Serenity’s loss, which only made her cry once more. He felt bad. Endymion placed his hand on the blonde’s small hand and gave it a light clasp as an idea suddenly came to him. “Hey” he said and waited for her gaze to meet his. “I know you don’t know me, and I don’t know you, but I was planning on leaving this city, would you like to join me.” He told her how he had heard things were calmer in other parts of Japan, and he had a way to get the two of them there to this place.
Serenity sat for a moment in shock, she had just met this man, but something about him was telling her he would protect her, and he would try his best to ensure their safety. She looked up at him and nodded, unable to speak. She wanted to get far away from this place and hoped she could start a new life elsewhere.
The two left the following morning and arrived in the new city a few hours later. Serenity thanked Endymion for helping her get away and turned to start her new life, but was taken aback when she felt him lightly grab her wrist and pull her back to him.
“You don’t have to leave just yet,” he said. He told her he didn’t mind spending some more time with her until they both figured out where life would direct them. Time passed and the weeks turned to months, which turned into years. Serenity and Endymion were together still. The two had found stable jobs, Serenity was working at the local primary school as a counselor and Endymion was working at the local clinic, logging information and helping with cases occasionally.
Serenity and Endymion had been living together this whole time and little by little began to realize they were attracted to each other. They had been casually dating for some time and were deeply in love with each other. Endymion knew this was the woman he would spend the rest of his life with and would ask her to marry him that night when he got home. He hoped their happiness would last a lifetime.
Entry #2- Spoiler:
The party was in full swing. Chandeliers reflected lights off the gleaming marble floors, champagne glasses tinkled softly amongst polite chatter, and the string quartet played slow classical music in the background. Selene’s white dress provided a stark contrast against her jet black hair as she made her way further into her room, her steps confident and certain.
Or at least that was what it looked like to the casual observer. Inside, anxiety twisted her stomach, but years of training had allowed her to maintain a façade that was entirely different. Picking up a glass from a passing tray, she barely tasted the liquid as her eyes scanned every face at the party carefully.
You’ll know him when you see him, her father kept assuring her. He’ll be the only one wearing a red rose with his suit.
Her father had proceeded to comment on the pompousness of such attire choice, but Selene had decided to reserve her judgment until she saw him herself.
“I don’t believe I know you, my lady,” a deep voice came from behind her, and she nearly dropped her glass in surprise. She was very glad her father wasn’t here to see her blunder. He would have never allowed her to live it down. Someone had caught her off guard; something that was never, ever supposed to happen.
She turned around with a composed smile that froze on her lips the moment she laid eyes on him.
Striking deep blue eyes. Jet black hair. A classically handsome face.
And an unmistakable red rose on his suit pocket.
She felt hot and cold at the same time. The metal hidden on her thigh suddenly felt heavier and harder than ever.
Edward Prince. The son of the founder of Global Alliance of Intelligence Accumulation—or better known as GAIA.
Her target. She was supposed to find him, lure him… and yet here he was, practically offering himself to her merely minutes after she arrived.
For a moment she wondered if he’d recognized her. Was her disguise not good enough? Was that why he’d picked her out of all the other beautiful women around them so quickly?
He was still looking at her with that questioning glance that was now tinged with suspicion, and she jumped to say her rehearsed line. “Belle Charmant,” she extended one white-gloved hand with a smile, mentioning the name on the credentials acquired for her. “I’m new to GAIA.”
“What a beautiful name. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Charmant. And allow me to formally welcome you to GAIA then,” he replied, kissing her proffered hand.
“I am truly honored, Mr. Prince,” she dipped her head demurely. “To have the best operative and the heir of GAIA herself welcome me… well, I never dreamed of such a thing.”
“Nonsense. It is my pleasure,” he repeated. “Would you care for a dance, Miss Charmant?” He asked as the musicians started up a new song.
She hesitated only briefly before nodding. “Of course.”
The two of them glided onto the dance floor, and the rest of the guests gave way. Selene put one hand on his shoulder and felt his arm settle on her waist as if it had always belonged there. She felt the strangest thing as they swayed along to the music; as if this was a dream, a very familiar one. She had not seen him before tonight, and yet…
What was this she felt? And what of her mission?
His eyes seemed to entrap her gaze and refused to let go. By the time the music ended, she didn’t even realize or protest when he gently guided her away from the other guests, toward a darkened side room.
She didn’t realize they were alone until he pushed her against the wall.
“I know who you really are,” he whispered even though there was no one else to hear them.
That finally jostled her out of her trance. Her heartbeat quickened as she looked at him through her father’s eyes, reminding herself who he was; a target. Someone she was meant to eliminate.
Her hand traveled slowly, instinctively, toward her thigh.
She reached the knife, but he caught her, trapping the weapon within her grasp.
“Selene, princess of the League of United Nations Assassins. Nice disguise, but I’d know that face anywhere. I’ve been wondering when you’ll show up. You are here to kill me, yes?”
She found it difficult to breathe, but for some reason she was not afraid.
“I knew your father wouldn’t get his own hands dirty. But to use his own daughter…” he shook his head. “Even I didn’t think he’d stoop that low. How old are you? Fourteen? Fifteen?”
Selene bristled. “Sixteen. That’s when agents of LUNA are sent out into the field for their first job.”
“So I’m to be your first kill,” he said, actually sounding flattered. “That’s… nice.” He looked down at her, and for a heartbeat she thought he might kill her right then and there.
But he surprised her by releasing her.
“Do you actually want to kill me? Or are you just a little obedient princess who’ll do everything your father tells you to?” he challenged, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
Selene was surprised. It was a question that no one had ever asked her. That had never even crossed her mind. Obeying the order had always seemed like the only choice.
But was it?
And what of the strange feeling she felt for him?
She felt so conflicted. Her body flushed hot and cold again, and suddenly the world that had always made sense to her ceased to exist.
This man… he had unraveled everything she thought she knew with just a few words.
How had he done it?
“Well?” he said, waiting.
She raised her hand slowly, taking off her disguise. Her own long blonde hair tumbled down her shoulders, glowing in the moonlight that shone through the window; the only source of light in the room.
She looked at the man that she had been led to believe was her enemy, the man she had come here to kill.
And she said, “I don’t think I want to kill you.”
He smiled. “Good. Because neither do I wish you harm.”
As she dropped her knife to the floor, she thought she should have felt that she’d just made the biggest mistake in her life.
And yet, everything about the moment felt right.
Entry #3- Spoiler:
As the only daughter and child of an aging King and Queen, Serenity had a lot of freedom, especially when compared to other Princesses in other countries. She was allowed to learn how to read, how to write, arithmetic and basic alchemy. Other Princesses weren’t allowed to learn books like she was, but her father was a progressive man, who believed that women should be able to read and write, to be able to keep up with a man intellectually. So the King made sure when he married his wife that she learned and when his daughter was little, she began to learn as well.
No matter how progressive her father was, he still required her to marry a Prince. For years, he never pushed the issue, wanting her to be able to marry someone of her choosing. For years, she had searched, but no one had suited her. Her father was beginning to put pressure on her to choose someone, as he and his wife were aging and they wanted to see their daughter married, and have time to train the prince to take over and run the Kingdom. Serenity could feel herself becoming more disheartened every day. Sh wanted to make her father happy, to marry someone, but she also wanted to marry someone who would make her happy and despite her parents best efforts to host balls for her to meet eligible bachelors, none of them were right. They were too stuffy, didn’t like that she was smart, that she could read and write and wanted to discuss politics.
She sighed, she leaned over the edge of the pond she was sitting by to trail her finger in the water. Tonight was another ball that her parents were hosting, hoping she would pick someone tonight. All the men she had talked to tonight were just so boring. Her nose scrunched up at the memory of one of the Prince’s she had been forced to talk to tonight. He basically wanted to keep her bare foot and pregnant, only coming to her when he was in need, and ignoring her most of the time.
“If I may be so bold as to ask why such a pretty young woman such as yourself is out here all by yourself?” a voice asked, interruption the princess’s musings.
“I came outside to escape the non-sense inside. My parents mean well, but these balls are useless,” Serenity replied with a sad smile. She looked at the young man in front of her. He was handsome and didn’t seem to be over bearing. “I’ve never seen you at one of these events before, are you accompanying an older sibling that’s here to court me?” He seemed young, closer to her seventeen summers than any of the other eligible bachelors who ranged from mid 20 summers to over 60 summers. She shuddered at the last thought. No way would her father allow that to ever happen. At least she hoped he wouldn’t…he wasn’t that desperate for her to marry was he?!
“I am the second son of my father and mother, but no, I am not here accompanying an elder sibling,” Mamoru responded gently. Serenity frowned. If he wasn’t accompanying an elder sibling that was trying to win her hand in marriage…
“Are you here to try and woo me into marrying you?” she demanded, suspicion and hurt colouring her voice. She was beginning to think that he was different from the others, but no, he was exactly the same, just using a different approach.
“No, no that’s, not it,” he stammered, red colouring his cheeks in embarrassment. “I just thought you could use the company that’s all. My parents send me to so many of these balls trying to get me married off to some Princess in some foreign land.” His hand rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment as Serenity giggled.
“It seems like you hate these things about as much as I do; here, sit down beside me. The Fountain is beautiful.” He sat and they enjoyed the silence of the garden for a few moments before it was broken with the loud quacking of a mother and father duck leading their ducklings to the pond. Serenity giggled in excitement and joy at watching the baby ducklings and Endymion found himself smiling, finding her utterly endearing.
By the end of the night the young prince and princess grew to become friends. Endymions parents had allowed him to be fostered at Serenity’s parents court, allowing the two’s friendship to blossom. Soon, they were the best of friends, thick as thieves, where you could find one; you could always find the other. Serenity’s parents took great joy in watching the love blossom between them. Three summers to the day of their first meeting, the castles bells rang out for a new joyous occasion, a wedding was taking place. The Princess had finally found her Prince.
Entry #4- Spoiler:

Colmado = it's like a 7eleven, it could be smaller or larger. people usually go there to get "smaller" version of a product.
Voladora = is a type of bus, usually going extremely fast and ignoring laws all over the city. ----- He was buying a drinkat the closest “Colmado”, he doesn’t usually buy this type of drink, but this time he needed it, that exam drained all his energy. He took a sip of the refreshing “yet not food for his health” beverage, paid the Colmadero, took his backpack and moved to the exit while taking another sip of the drink. It was the middle of summer and, it was time of summer class finals at college, two things that don’t go very well together, to make things worst. While he was taking the fourth and last exam of the summer, there was a blackout in the classroom. The fans stopped working, and he was sweating really bad he made a chuckle and thought -only in this country-. By the time he finished, the blackout stopped and the fans started working again. He handed the exam to his teacher and rushed thru the classrooms exit. Before he could head out one of his classmates stopped him to ask him what were some of the answers of the exam. Armando! – He called - Man! I think I did this problem wrong! – said his classmate, a short and brown hair guy. He showed the answer he made to his classmate and said – Man I can’t believe it; I studied from the group of exercises like the teacher highlighted, and focused on those exercises thinking they would be on the exam, and then he changed the whole thing! I hate when they do that! – kept complaining the guy. -Yeah- said Armando -I heard he does worst thing, I may had a couple wrong but overall I think I did o- - Oh please- Interrupted another classmate -Everyone knows you are top grade student, geez, always worrying about nothing-, Armando was in a way the Classroom “nerd” but he was always helping others.-*Sigh* but hey- said Armando ignoring the other guy completely -I think the teacher might give you half of the points, since you did the first half of the process correctly-. Man you really are a good student! and I hope you are right. See you next semester, by the way, did you picked your next classes already? - Yes, see you next semester! – He waved at his classmate and rushed out the building avoiding any other classmates. Armando was enjoying his drink so much that he didn’t noticed when the bottle was empty, he went back to the Colmado and asked for water, he knew he might need it later, he left the place and turned to his right to pick his “Voladora” -as everyone likes to call it-, It takes 35 minutes to arrive to his stop and 10 more minutes walking to then finally get home, take a shower, and get some sleep, after this long and tiring day he deserved it. But just after a few steps he noticed something odd, there was this girl, blonde hair with a peculiar hair style he could recognize it from his faculty before, clearly almost crying backing off scared as these two guys were bullying her. One of them was grabbing her arm, as he was forcing her to go with them. For some reason unbeknownst to him he felt angry, walking as fast as he could, he grabbed her hand and pushed the guy away, quickly he stepped in front of him while glaring with threatening eyes. What the hell you are doing to my girlfriend – he yelled to the guys. --- She was in the middle of her last exam, her pencil in her hand, her exam just in front of her, and she was the last person in her classroom. Clearly she didn’t study for her exam. Tears were almost falling from her eyes, she did it again, she spent too much time watching movies and out with her friends. She completely ignored the fact that she had an exam the very next morning. Letting out a cry of desperation she gave up. Filling up the exam with random answers, she grabbed her stuffs, gave the exam to her teacher and exit the classroom as fast as in-humanly possible and almost crashed with another student who looked in a hurry, she then saw her classmates waiting for her, next to the stairs. How did it go? – Asked her short hair friend – why did it took you so long to finish? She started bawling, she couldn’t help it. Selena, what happened? – asked her fellow blonde friend patting her head gently. I didn’t answer any question! – said Selena between sobs. – I hate college! Can we go and eat something? Would you tell us what happen then? – asked her tallest friend Sure – said the blonde getting a tissue to wipe her tears. The girls exit the faculty and headed their favorite cafeteria, all girls got into a booth and one of them made the orders for all. when she came back to the booth all the girls picked their orders and started to enjoy their -well deserved treats- after their first summer class ended. You didn’t study, right? - abruptly said on her friends while looking at her with disappointing eyes. Well i was... - tried to say Selena but her voice trailed lower and lower. Oh no you didn't! you told us you were going to study! - said a bit angry her tallest friend I...well...ok fine, i...lied...a little bit - finally admitted the blonde - but it was my first time actually knowing this city, i couldn't help it, i love it here, i always wanted to visit it...you gotta understand. - pledged the girl with puppy eyes. *sigh* you do love this city, so i get your point - admitted her fellow blonde friend. Thank you Carol! - she hugged her friend. the girls continued to eat and chat until everyone noticed it was getting a bit late so everyone said goodbye to each other. Selena walked to her bus stop or “Voladora” as she found out everyone calls it, and waiting patiently for her bus to arrive. she got thirsty and she noticed a “Colmado” close to her, so she thought to purchase a bottle of water real quick, she went to the Colmado got her bottle but when she returned to her spot she noticed her bus was already leaving, - no wait! - she yelled but it was too late - seriously? not this again - she complained. frustrated and thirsty she decided to not get angry and just wait a little longer for the next one, she took a sip of her bottle and felt refreshed instantly. she was looking for her cellphone and her earplugs to listen some music while waiting when she heard some guys talking to her. Yo lil’ girl, care for something sweet?, or perhaps just something to go? … me and my buddy were thinking of going somewhere fun you see, but we’re missing an extra companion, catch my drift...eh?. Eh?...no, thank you, i have things to do… - said Selena feeling insulted the way these guys were talking to her. C’mon! is summer, and i’m pretty sure you’re done with your classes - said one of the guys - i promise you are gonna have fun. Thank you, but no - said Selena feeling annoyed but a little bit unsafe, since the guys were getting even more close to her. then one of the guys grabbed her hand and keep insisting on his demand, Selena got even more scared and tried to free herself, but the guy grabbed her hand tighter, at that moment she thought the worst when suddenly a very tall guy came to her rescue. Sorry man, i didn't know she had company - said the guys and flew away since her “boyfriend” had one terrifying look. Armando waited for the guys to get away, he turned around to the girl he just saved, he still had his hands on hers - are you ok miss? - he asked concerned then she looked up at him and their eyes met. he finally had a better look at her, even about to cry, he thought she was a very pretty girl, as for her, she finally realized who was her savior and her heart started beating fast. they both stared at each other for a moment, when Selena finally realized what she was doing. - yes, i’m ok, just...those guys frighten me, never thought this could happen actually - said Selena wiping her teary eyes - you are not from here, you should be more careful - said Armando concerned. - do you want to sit? - he asked politely, - no, i mean...i have to get home, have things to do - she said shyly avoiding eye contact with him, her heart was beating faster than before - then i’ll make you some company while you wait for your bus - said Armando with a soothing smile. Selena couldn't help it, she was hoping to talk to him for a while, she had seen him a few times in the faculty and she felt very attracted to him, she couldn't understand it. her friends said it was “love at first sight” but she got this feeling it wasn't just that. They talked the entire time she was waiting for her bus. As things were getting interesting time had flied by and the bus had arrived.. with a disappointed look she jumped to her bus, waved goodbye to her crush and savior and got to her seat. he waited for the bus to get away when he turned to the other side to get his, the next semester was just 2 weeks away, with a smile on his face he thought the next semester is sure gonna be interesting.
Entry #5- Spoiler:
“Help me, Mau Luna. You are my only hope.”
An elegant woman sat at the back of a spaceship, watching her apprentice learn the ways of the Force. From the death of his two brothers, to almost being killed, this pony-tailed teen had seen it all.
The woman shook her head as her apprentice made another mistake, cursing as his light saber clattered to the ground.
“Focus, Seiya. Do not let your sorrows surpass your ability to learn,” she advised.
Seiya sighed and picked up his weapon. “I can’t focus, Luna,” he said.
The message relayed by his white cat earlier that day echoed non-stop through his mind. The girl displayed on the holographic message was beautiful, with long, golden hair and crystal-blue eyes. The crescent moon on her forehead signified that she was a princess of the Moon.
A girl with long blonde hair and sapphire eyes entered the room.
“My apologies, but Master Endymion sent me to inform you that we are arriving at our destination,” the girl said, her voice a robotic monotone. The white feline on her shoulder meowed before leaping onto Luna’s lap.
“Thank-you, Minako,” Luna said, scratching the cat just above the crescent moon mark on its forehead. Minako left the room, followed soon after by Seiya, Luna, and the male feline known as Artemis.
In the control room, a young man was sitting next to his hairy best friend. Neither moved as spectators entered the small room. Seiya’s eyes widened as he realized what his newest companion was doing.
“You’re just going to barge in there with no strategy?!” Seiya exclaimed.
Endymion rolled his eyes. “Relax; Motoki’s got it covered,” he replied. The hairy man beside him grunted and stood, pulling a gun out of his belt.
“Stay here,” Seiya ordered, as he and Endymion exited the ship. By the time the two men had gotten outside, Motoki had already taken care of the two guards that manned the room. They remained unconscious as their clothes were stripped off. Disguised as generals of Darth Beryl’s court, the two men dragged Motoki into the next room, acting as if he were their prisoner.
As they progressed through the spaceship, they managed to find the area where prisoners were held. Arguing over their most-recent close call, Endymion and Seiya began to hack into the system. Several minutes later, Motoki let out a series of frantic sounds, signaling that he had figured out the code.
“The code is 1347,” Endymion told Seiya. Seiya quickly typed the code, and the a black door slid open. Beyond it was one long corridor with multiple holding cells on either side.
“Guard the door while I get the girl,” Endymion commanded. Seiya nodded and pulled out his gun, aiming it at the door as he hid next to Motoki.
Endymion walked down the corridor, looking through the windows on each cell door to try and find the girl Seiya had previously described.
Endymion finally spotted her. He typed the code into the keypad outside of the door and entered the room. He approached her, and was about to put a hand on her shoulder when he realized how beautiful she was. Sleeping, she looked so peaceful.
Shaking away his stunned silence, Endymion placed his hand on the girl’s shoulder and shook her awake. Her eyes snapped open, revealing big, bright blue irises that captivated him immediately. But he didn’t have time to stare, for the first thing she did was punch him in the face.
Endymion stumbled backwards before recovering, grabbing the girl’s wrist before she could escape.
“Unhand me!” she hissed, wriggling to try and get out of his firm grip.
“If you want to get out of here, I suggest you knock it off,” Endymion growled. The girl paused, looking up at his eyes.
Endymion shifted uncomfortably under her stare.
Clearing her throat, the girl pulled herself free and stood up straight, brushing a piece of hair out of her eyes. “You are with Luna?” she asked, blinking. Endymion nodded.
“No time for questions, lady. We’ve got to get out of here,” he said, pulling her out of the room. He shoved her back inside as soon as he saw the chaos that was going on in the other room. Seiya and Motoki were hiding behind a desk, shooting at five youma who found their way inside. “Stay here,” Endymion ordered. He pulled out his gun and exited the cell, immediately shooting at the youma. He managed to vaporize one before another one hit his wrist, causing his gun to fly out of his hand. He rolled out of the way of the next attack, grunting. A second youma was about to hit him when it suddenly disappeared, leaving a cloud of dust in its wake. Endymion turned to find the girl standing behind him, holding his gun in her hand. She extended her arm to help him up, but he ignored her and stood, taking his gun from her. “Next time, do as I say,” he snapped, shooting the last youma. Sirens were wailing all around them, and more youma could be heard coming towards them.
“What do we do?!” Seiya yelled over the sirens. Endymion frantically searched for a way out, finding nothing.
“Over here,” the princess yelled. She lifted up the cover of a large trash chute. Seeing it was their only option, Seiya went through first.
Motoki whined in protest, and Endymion punched him. “Get in there, you big, furry oaf. I couldn’t care less what you smell, now go!”
Motoki reluctantly slid down the chute.
“After you, Princess,” Endymion said, making the word ‘princess’ sound like she was infected.
The girl placed both hands on her hips and tilted her chin upwards. “My name is Serenity,” she snapped. Without warning, she shoved Endymion through the shoot, sliding in after him just as more youma entered the room.
Neither princess nor rogue knew of the aligning of the stars that occurred that very moment.
Entry #6- Spoiler:
Dramaton, August 11, 3200 - Emerald Harbor
It was a sunny day, or it would have been if there was still sun. Instead, there was a dome designed to help humans tell the time. Of course, there were talks of a real sun, and the warmth of it. I wish I could have experimented it... Anyway, I was there, minding my own business, looking for new passengers for my ship when I saw her. Blonde, cold blue eyes, looking for the perfect place to travel. I decided to approach her.
"My fair lady, what brings you to this harbor?"
She looked at me and her eyes were so icy, like I had never seen before. Nonetheless, I felt an incredible attraction, it was as if we were meant to be.
"I'm looking for a ride. I don't care where to, as long as I get my own bunk."
"Then I guess you just found the perfect place! Come aboard!"
I touched her bag and she stared at me as if she was going to fry me then and there. Instantly, I knew better than to keep my hands there.
"This way, madam. I'm Captain Endy. Welcome aboard the ship. It's called Crystal."
"This piece of junk? Crystal? You have got to be kidding me! Where is my bunk? Are you staying landed for much longer?"
I couldn't believe she had just insulted my baby, my ship. Crystal was a beauty. I remember when I first got her... However, I needed the passenger and ignored that part.
"This way, madam. We're not staying landed for longer. And I didn't catch a name..."
"You can call me Serena O'Hare."
We walked in direction of her new bunk and upon arriving, I decided to tell her of our crew and rules.
"Dinner will be served at seven and then you will meet the staff. Any questions?"
"No, Captain Endy."
"Then if I may be excused, I'll ask our pilot to fly our ship out of here."
She nodded with her head and closed her door. I don't know what's going to happen next, but that girl... she just got to me. Her eyes, so cold, so icy, it worries me, but also, it draws me to her. One single conversation and she has me entangled in her web. Poor Captain Endy, fell in love with the mysterious stranger.
Entry #7- Spoiler:
You wake up in a room with no memory of how you got there. You're surrounded by words like "miracle", "car crash", and "amnesia".
They tell you that your name is Mamoru Chiba. You're twenty-one years old and are in the hospital due to a collision with a drunk driver. You cannot confirm or deny any of this.
Everything feels unfamiliar. It's like you never existed before waking up in the hospital.

You start dreaming after they discharge you. Your dreams are incredibly vivid, which surprise you, for you've never dreamed much before.
They're stories of a kingdom on the earth and its prince. Occasionally, the moon shows up as well. Somehow, the dreams feel more real that what you've managed to piece together of your life.
(You were a former medical student. You tended to be rather antisocial, and your parents died fifteen years ago in another car accident.
You really hate cars now.)
The dreams gradually become more romantic. You fall in love with a princess (or at the very least, you think that you're the prince), and make plans to marry her. Both of you know that it's an impossibility, for the situation between the earth and the moon is getting worse and you're going to have to go to war, but in those moments, you can pretend to be happy.
"Even if we die and are reborn, I will always love you!" she exclaims.
"So will I.... Serenity." you say, as you kiss her.
To everyone else, you look like any ordinary pair of young lovers.
You wake up with her name on your lips, and you know that you have to find her.

You're back at the hospital for a follow-up examination.
There's been a rash of suicides. This always occurs around exam season, as the pressure can and will force anyone and everyone into snapping.
A cloud hangs over you as all you see is death, death, more death, wasted potential, and death. For some reason, you feel like you've left something here. Somehow, they agree to let you find your tuxedo and roses.
(Why did you say that? Were you on your way to a date? No, that doesn't make sense....)
You stumble into a random room. It's completely empty, except for...
And then the war occurred.
Both Elysion and the earth were overtaken by hatred. You were forced to fight against your own army.
You sacrificed yourself for her.... Serenity.
...and she killed herself and the war ended with everyone dead and....

You wake up in a room filled with bunnies. (Why are you here?)
"You're okay!" someone exclaims. "I probably should've brought you home, but I don't know where you live and it wouldn't be right to just leave you there!"
The person who's talking to you is a young woman with long blonde hair done up in two buns.
....just like Serenity's.
"By the way, why were you there? I'm Usagi Tsukino, I'm about to go into my first year of art school!"
(She's.... eighteen? This is the person you've been looking for?)
"Ah...." you begin, trying to figure out how to tell her about your dreams without sounding creepy.
"Have I met you before? You look kind of familiar.... maybe-"
"-in a dream?" you say. (Why did you say that? It just slipped out of your mouth....)

| At first I couldn't get my head away from romantic opposite-side stories (Romeo and Juliet, Disney John Smith and Pocahontas, Titanic's Rose and Jack, etc (like seriously the list kept going and going depending on the era I considered)) but I think I just came up with something. =D |

| Well it doesn't have to be necessarily "Usagi" and "Mamoru", it just has to be a different reincarnation of Serenity and Endymion. Think of the Edo scene in the Stars musicals, where its suggested that the Edo reincarnations of Serenity and Endymion are destined to be together. Granted that scene was more tongue-in-cheek and a homage to Japanese Period Dramas, but thats the basic idea for this prompt. ^^ |

“I just don’t know…” Rachel repeated, a smile creeping into her expression.
Bunny turned her blue eyes onto the girl sitting across from her, her heart in her expression as she begged, “Annie! Make them let me see!”
Annie, her gaze leaving her book for the first time in hours, turned to the others and made a small attempt with an exasperated sigh, “Mina, draw back the curtains –“
But it had already taken too long, and Bunny, with an apologetic smile to Marceline, had climbed over her seat partner and wedged herself between the taller girl and the window, her fingers fighting Mina’s strength as she attempted to pull the curtain away from the window; with a laugh, Wilhelmina released her hold and sunlight flew into carriage, the afternoon glow amplified in the reflection off of the water’s surface.
It was like nothing she had ever seen before. Paintings did it no justice, stories paled in comparison. Bunny was finally there – the ocean.
They stopped at a beach and all took off their shoes and picked up their dresses to play in the sand and seafoam, spending the afternoon talking and teasing and taking in the beautiful scenery; they enjoyed each other’s company, and the picnic lunch Marceline had carefully made for them. Annie read poetry aloud as they ate, and she and Mina teamed up to tease Rachel into snapping at them, then dove in for consolatory hugs. Bunny adored every moment of it, of splashing in the shallow water, drawing pictures in the sand with their toes, of stretching back in the scrub grass and enjoying the salty air, and still she wanted to see more. As her friends calmed down and took to relaxing on the shore, she walked off alone, following her feet, her mind on her dreams, wondering if they could stay until nightfall, for in her dreams it was always nighttime. Closing her eyes she could picture it easily, and with the sounds of the real ocean and the smell of the sea aiding her, it was only too easy to fall back into that familiar scene:
Then, as now, she walked barefoot in the sand, though in her dreams it was much cooler, the water almost warm to her toes. The wind blew softly, teasing her dress, pulling at her hair, sending the salty sea air to dance around her. There was no heat from the sun on her skin, just the cool light of the moon, the calming sound of the waves upon the shore, and the reassuring warmth beside her…
She slowed, trying to push the dream further, willing it to move past the stubborn ending point. Who was there? And why did she always wake up so content despite the sharp pain in her chest?
They were walking slowly… she reached for his hand…
His hand… she was certain it was a boy, and yet he was so much more…
An interruption of the soft, repeating sound of the crashing waves grew too loud and uneven for her to ignore any longer, and Bunny opened her eyes, blinking in the light, and screamed. She ran forward and fell to her knees in the wet sand, her hands uneasy, hovering above the stranger’s head, not knowing what to do as he coughed and sputtered, his arms shaking and wavering beneath his weight. “ANNIE!” she cried, her voice shrieking – if anyone knew what to do it was Annie, “ANNIE!!”
He fell forward, his face hitting the sand hard, and, her heart fluttering in a panic in her chest, she took him by his shoulder and pulled as hard as she could to flip him over onto his back. She fell back as her strength finally overcame his weight, and she recovered as quickly as she could, her legs struggling in the fabric of her dress. She knelt over him, still unsure of what to do, of where to place her hands; behind her she heard her friends coming, calling her name; in the distance she heard other answering shouts – help would arrive soon; he’d get help. He…
He looked familiar, somehow… his black hair, his strong jaw, straight nose, even his height and build… His wheezing softened and his hand raised, shaking, to take hers. It was wet, his skin cold and clammy, and yet the touch filled her with warmth and a spark of the familiar. Looking to his face, their eyes met, and she fell into their deep blue depths, a rush of warmth flooding the sharp familiar pain in her chest.
Who was he?
Arms wrapped themselves around her middle and pulled her up and away, Marceline quickly removing her from the scene; Rachel took her hand as Marcy went back to help Annie, who was kneeling where Bunny had knelt moments ago, her hands on his wrist, her soft yet forceful voice asking him questions as Mina motioned to the men who were running down the beach towards them.
“Bunny, what happened?” Rachel asked quietly, but the man had tilted his head so his eyes could find her, and she could not look away. |
