well it is a formal name, and that's the formula everyone else follows...whatever her everyday behaviour is, let's face it..they gotta be well behaved during formal events, they ARE princesses.

and er...i think you've got Kiyo's personality a bit mixed up! she just knows how to be in the right place at the right time to overhear things, and she knows what questions to ask. She doesn't try competing with her sisters about princessness...and she doesn't think about how she loves knowing everything, she's just pleased to be able to help people who want to know something. and as far as gossip, i think she'd just know how to shift through what is fact and what is false. and she doesn't really spy on people...^^0

but her being aloof and slightly distracted because she's observing and learning through peoples words and body language would be fine! i'm picturing her at a ball observing people, and then someone who was talking to her says her name and she goes "I'm sorry, what?" XD

Should I have Serenity enter the dining room, or should I give her a distraction so that the girls have an opportunity to discuss the surprise?  Also, am I allowed to have dialogue for servants, or is that not appropriate?  Sorry if that's a dumb question - this is my first official roleplay xD.

go ahead and have dialogue for servants! their NPC, they're just there. XD and give the girls time to talk about having a mother's day party, then bring in the queen

and no worries! there's no such thing as a dumb question! unless it's something like "can i breath?" :p
