Battles


Monsters
There will be two categories of monsters in the Citadel - Minions and Mini Bosses. When we encounter a group of enemies, I will post the number of enemies and their type in bold in the post where we stumble upon them.
These monsters will be lettered to keep track of them easier.

Engaging Monsters
If you wish to engage a minion or mini boss in battle
1. Have your character claim a monster. You can claim up to three minions per turn, or one mini boss.
2. Have your character yell one of their attacks from your profile (or write out rushing in to attack with their chosen weapon). Do not state anything about the monster - you are not guaranteed to even hit the monster, let alone defeat it outright. 
3. Wait for my response. I'll be on a lot starting today and over the weekend. I'll tell you how you did. 
4. In OOC, I will tell you how much damage you did and how much is left of the monster's hitpoints. If you defeated it, I will tell you.
5. Write a reactionary/event post - write hitting it, describe what happened, your response, etc. 
6. Then you may choose to attack again, if monsters remain.

Hit Points and Attacks
Each senshi has 20 hit points, and the monsters will attack you guys at random, too.
Attack points (how much you hit the monster for) are decided by the roll of a 6-sided die. A roll of 6 is incredibly effective! A roll of 1 or 2, not so much, but still, it practically defeats a minion. 
Watch my posts for attacks from the monsters and how much they attack you for - anything hurts, but it's relative to your hit points. I'll have a running tally for hit points.

Note: If you want your character to have a cap on their attack power (like their attacks should be less powerful (like a max of 4 points)) or a smaller amount of hit points for IC reasons, tell me here and I'll make adjustments. 

For attacks, 6 is the maximum and 20 is the maximum hit point number - nothing will be larger.

*Note, posts like this won't count as Relaxed or Advanced posts for the rp; For 'Targeting' posts to count, they'd need to have at least 50 words. Targeting posts aren't supposed to be big. ^^ Just a heads up to me for whom you're attempting to attack.

This Targetting post would count, as it's over fifty words and then turns into a targetting post. Note how Enya chose to leave minion c alive and keep going towards the boss, and rather than attack, she chose to use an ability on the boss. Abilities like hers, which have no attack attached, will also get a roll, but it's more flipping a coin than rolling a die to see whether it works or not.

Oops, little guy came back to bite me. If someone else had posted attacking minion c and killed it, that minion would not have been able to attack.

What about Armor Rating for damage reduction? Arch may have 20 HP but his Armor Rating acts as an inhibitor for almost any attack, except piercing, to an extent. Piercing damage ignores AR by rolling two 10-sided dice to represent precision, the higher the precision, the more AR is ignored. If you rolled an 89 (the first die being the first digit 9 and the second 8 ), only 89% of the AR is ignored. So if the officer mini-boss attacking deals 6 HP of piercing damage, and Arch's AR is 25, normally the remaining 19 damage is inflicted upon the mini-boss, but piercing damage at 89% precision roughly means only 3 damage is absorbed. So Arch takes half the damage leaving his HP at 17.

Unless there is a way to reduce damage, already, I'd like to place this AR system into the RP.

As for the battles system, I find it acceptable for the sake of expedience in this event; I am going to withhold my own suggestions until we're finished.

Since most of our number are Senshi I normalized the defense to a standard amount and put our non-senshi on par with them.

With everyone's max HP being set at 20, the maximum attack on any one person by any one thing set at 6, and a healer in the party (Achelois), I do not see a pressing need to add in defensive stats.

Especially as senshi with defensive abilities will be able to affect party defense by using these abilities - such as Shadow's "Dance of Shadows", Solar Eclipses's "Diamond Pulse" ((if she IC has access to it yet)), Io's "Io Sparkling Magnet", Lunar Eclipses's "Aphotic Black Ice" ((if IC access to it)), or Splash's crystal powers - depending on how they wish to use them. Shadow's seems to be a single-target defense, he could use it to nullify or decrease the roll on an attack directed at him, while Solar Eclipse's could be used over a wide area to cut the attack of any enemies in the area. 

*Additional Note: Abilities that boost abilities, like Achelois's "Best Ability" will affect allies as the attack suggests - it will boost their natural abilities and/or powers. If used on Solar Eclipse when Solar Eclipse is about to do her defensive move, that defensive move will be boosted. If she uses it on Enyalius, Enyalius's attack power (thus attack points) will be boosted to something more than 6, depending on a multiplier roll.

Uranus, feel free to NPC Shadow along as you need for moments where I'm not immediately able to post this weekend. I have 7 hour shifts today and tomorrow afternoon.

Pluto, some of the minions you attacked are dead.    I wrote a forever-long post and dallied over sending; would you like to edit to attack one of the five new minions?

Ok, situation report indicates Arch is critically injured. A severe gash is incapacitating our beloved dragonborn, Rayden only do so much to keep him alive. Any Senshi with healing is greatly needed.

^^ His HP was at 12 - he's still half alive - and Achelois sent a concentrated healing spell his way in the post above yours! Keep calm, she'll make sure he won't die. 


BTW: people "pass out" when they hit 0 HP; no one's character will die in this RP! (Unless you want them to? lol)

Tuesday ends Monday's battle (if we don't end it by Monday night) and we get a bit more story in.

Wednesday we meet our big boss for more story and A BEATDOWN! =D Also saving the senshi X3 ((expect many many posts Wednesday afternoon; you might want to attend XD)) ((we might move to this part on Tuesday, depending on how Monday goes, etc.))

Wednesday Night, if you can make it, will be another Live-Chat RP to end off this Otaku Senshi Event! It shouldn't be too long, but is a good way to wrap everything up with some closure (and let our rescued heroines (and hero!) show their gratitude for what we've done! ^_^)   Wednesday night we'll also give technical stats for the RP (i.e., the blocks you can check off your RP Points Card for participating in this event, including a breakdown of your Relaxed and Advanced post count!), but you do not have to be present at the live chat RP! It's just something fun to wrap it all up! XD don't stress over not being able to make it! Times and such will be partially decided by when we are able to kill our boss and set the senshi free and whatnot. ^^

Sounds like a plan! I'm not sure how much I can be around during some of these "posting explosions" as it's generally late at night for me, but I will try my best! This RP is a lot of fun, I kind of don't want it to end xD

I would like Sailor Solar Eclipse to get captured, if that's alright. It's not as much fun to play her without Lunar Eclipse, and since Kaya is on LOA right now, I do not believe she'll be back before the end of the RP. So I'd rather just focus on Bellatrix instead =]

Edit: Oh also, I'll have Solar Eclipse's earlier attack miss or something of the sort, so no worries about that! :3

Oh my goodness I finally decided to attack; I hope I did it right. XD

You want to specify which minions to attack in the pist. Shadow is going after A and B at the moment, but you can choose A through N - and up to three in a post.

Hope that helps; I can't make a long post as I'm at work.
