Appearance: Kira stands at around 5'8" and has light blue eyes. Her hair is long and wavy in the color of the ocean. Ever since she became Sailor Andromeda, the tips of her hair turned gray. When in civilian form, she can be seen wearing various shades of blue and green. Her taste in clothing is generally mature and sensible; practical yet elegant, feminine but not frilly. As the princess of her star, she also has royal dresses that she wears on official occasions, though she does not care for them much anymore after becoming a senshi.

Personality: Kira used to be a bright and optimistic girl, but ever since what her parents did to her, she has become more guarded and less likely to trust people. She retreated into herself and spends most of her time alone now, preferring her own company than anyone else’s. It was especially tough to come back to the palace after the way she was treated, but she didn’t know where else to go and, despite what everybody did, she felt responsible to her people. She knew they were desperate and it had been her responsibility to help them anyway. She was their only future queen and senshi, so she stuck around, but these days Kira spends more time outside the palace instead of inside.

She’s learning to get to know the citizens of the kingdom better and tries to open herself up only to them. She’s being hailed as a hero by the people now once they heard what happened, and she promises herself she will dedicate her life to protecting her kingdom. Kira has turned from the spoiled princess to the hardened warrior, but incidentally she has also turned herself into someone more relatable for her people. She no longer wears her royal dresses unless for special occasions and has become the people’s princess and guardian instead.

Despite her dedication to protect everyone, she’s now depending mostly on herself and is very careful about trusting anyone. Few people see her gentle and kind side anymore; to others, she’s simply the kingdom’s protector and she keeps up the self-assured and aloof façade for most eyes. With her family, she has another façade and that’s the perfect princess who never questions anything and will do everything they ask. It’s her way of punishing them and she can see that it pains her parents. She sees the guilt in their eyes, but she does not know if she can ever forgive them. What she knows is that answering each of their questions with ‘Whatever you wish’ is at least alleviating the cold anger that’s burning in her heart.

Kira now enjoys swimming, running, and other physical activities. She also occasionally does sparring matches with the kingdom’s knights to hone her fighting skills. Basically anything that she wasn’t required to do or learn as part of her official princess training, she would enjoy. She dislikes everything to do with her old life and anything that reminds her of it. She also does not like to use her Princess title anymore, as she’s more proud to be a senshi—something she achieved herself—instead of something she was merely born as.

Due to not dealing with her traumatic awakening (never directly confronting her parents about what they did to her) and keeping the anger in her, Kira has developed an addiction to alcohol as a means of coping. The adventures she started on when she answered that first call for help from Crystal Tokyo, however, has long since started her on a journey of recovery. She has found a new family to replace her old one that abandoned her, in the form of Sailor Enyalius, Sailor Achelois, and Sailor Nocturnus. She has also found a friend in Perseus, who knew the first Sailor Andromeda, and Marina, who became her knight. These were people who earned her trust, who earned a place in her life and proved to her that they did not take her for granted and that they truly loved her. Through these people Kira tries to start mending the hole in her heart and the anger she's been using to stuff it. Because of this, she recognizes how important these people are to her life, and she is fiercely loyal to them. She will do anything in the world to protect them.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Kira is an excellent swimmer due to growing up in a kingdom surrounded by an ocean. She can cover great distances easily and quickly, and she also knows how to sail.
 
History: Kira was born in the Andromeda star, where there is a small but prosperous kingdom ruled by her parents. She was the only princess and heir to the kingdom and was raised to be its future queen. For a long time, her kingdom enjoyed peace and harmony, and Kira grew up as a happy and doted princess. When she reached her fifteenth birthday, however, something threatened the kingdom. Nobody quite knew where it came from, but from the depths of the sea that surrounded the kingdom, a sea monster emerged. And it emerged hungry.

The sea monster started devouring the sailors and fishermen and everyone who dared to get into the ocean. Soon, nobody dared to get close to the sea, and with it being the primary source of food for the citizens, everyone began to panic. With no one daring to sail or even get close to the beach anymore, supplies began to dwindle and before long the kingdom was suffering from food shortage. The farmers tried their best to provide alternatives and grow everything they could, but the kingdom had always thrived from the bounty they got from the sea, so now that the ocean had turned from a friend to an enemy, everyone was struggling.

Seeing what had become of their citizens, the King sent his best knights to slay the monster. However, no matter how many he sent, not one of them ever came back. The monster was simply too strong. After months of this futile attempt, the King grew desperate. One morning, a woman who claimed to be a Seer showed up in the palace and told the King that if he wanted to neutralize the monster threat, he needed to send his only daughter to the ocean.

The King was horrified, and he turned the woman away. Believing her to be nothing but a fortune teller who was trying to trick him, he refused to entertain the idea at all. He couldn’t bear to lose his only child and the heir to the kingdom, after all. The Queen felt the same way, but the few people who had heard what the woman said started telling others, and soon rumors of the ‘prophecy’ spread among the citizens. Some of them began to protest in front of the palace gates and demand that the royal family gave the sea monster what it wanted; the princess.

This lasted for days, and with every week that passed, the food kept dwindling, and more people joined the protest. They said the royal family was selfish if they thought the princess’ life was worth more than the lives of everyone who kept dying of starvation every day. Eventually the King and Queen caved to the pressure, seeing that they had no choice and that a mutiny was about to happen. So they sent Kira with a couple of guards to the ocean and ordered her chained to a rock.

Kira was terrified, of course. But most of all, she was angry, because her parents didn’t bother to talk to her properly about what they were doing. One night, she was just pulled from her bed by the guards and carried to certain death. The King and Queen weren’t even there to witness it; they couldn’t bear to watch and did not want to hear her pleading cries. But Kira knew they were the ones who ordered it. And she understood, really. She wasn’t blind to everything that was going on—she even knew about the so-called prophecy herself—but she wished they had told her what they had to do instead of treating their own daughter like a criminal.

It didn’t take long for the sea monster to emerge once the guards left her on that rock. Kira had nothing to defend herself with, and she couldn’t run away. But the moment she saw the creature, she felt anger and the desire to fight back building inside her. She wanted to live. She did not want to die like this; having her choices taken away from her. She wouldn’t even die as a hero because she did not choose this. She might have, too, and she suspected she would have willingly come here if they just gave her the chance to decide, but now she would never be anything but the girl who was forcibly sacrificed to the sea monster.

The moment all these feelings envelope her, suddenly Kira felt a strange warmth building inside her chest. She looked down and, in shock, realized it was glowing. A new power had awakened within her; and a strange voice asked her: Do you want to live? Do you want to be powerful? And Kira answered with a resounding ‘Yes’. Yes, she wanted to live, more than anything in the world.

In a blink of an eye her shackles broke, leaving the chains as small bracelets around her wrist. But when they previously bound her, now she felt power emanating from them. She looked down and realized that the rest of her had transformed too, into a strange outfit that she didn’t recognize. On her right hand a beautiful curving blade materialized, and Kira could almost hear it whispering to her: Use me to fight.

The monster came within reach, but when it moved to strike, Kira was ready. It was as if she suddenly knew how to fight. Calling words that were previously unfamiliar to her, she created a maelstrom around the monster. Then, without hesitation, she leapt and cut the monster’s head with one swoop using the blade in her hand. The creature disappeared into the massive whirlpool, which soon also retreated to the ocean floor.

When the sea was calm again, Kira knew that the monster was no more. And it was only then that she realized the woman and her prophecy was right all along; the threat was now neutralized.

It just didn’t happen in the way everyone thought it would.

The Collector: Sailor Andromeda's first encounter with the other senshi of the solar system happened when she heard the call for help coming from Crystal Tokyo one day. She discovered that senshi from the main planets of the solar system had been abducted and that their leader, Neo Queen Serenity, asked for help in recovering them. Along with a bunch of other senshi that had been gathered, Andromeda traveled to The Collector's domain and helped rescue the kidnapped senshi. There, after The Collector was defeated she found (and was bestowed with) the Battle Trident of Andromeda, the legendary weapon that belonged to the original Sailor Andromeda. Upon returning to Crystal Tokyo, she was awarded the Silver Crescent Award as well as being recognized as an Honorary Citizen of Crystal Tokyo.

Decay: Being called up by Neo Queen Serenity for a second time, Andromeda this time volunteered for a mission to Zenar, a planet that has been corrupted by Chaos. She was part of a team that tried to rescue the fairy queen and failed because they ran out of time traversing the planet's maze-like forest, filled with many dangerous creatures. This mission was much harder than the first and she nearly died at least twice, first in a lake of acid and the second in the middle of a battle within smoke with a couple of gnomes. The near death experiences reminded Andromeda that her decision to stay angry at her parents was foolish and that she needed to reconcile with them before it was too late. She also felt the crushing burden of failure when they returned, leaving the planet lost to Chaos.

Return to Zenar: In order to save Zenar, the senshi return to the planet overtaken by Chaos one last time. This time, they came better prepared and with a clearer strategy. They went straight to the castle where the Chaos agent was believed to be as well as the corrupted fairy queen and princess. After fighting some more battles, the groups divided into two; one to rescue the fairy royals and one to face the Chaos agent. Andromeda went with the group that fought the Chaos agent, managing to trick her into lowering her guard and fatally wounding her. Although the group managed to leave the castle safely, the fairy queen was lost. Still, it led to the birth of the first Sailor Zenar in her daughter. After another struggle with the dragons, the group escaped to the sky and left the planet safely (though not after encountering some noxious gas first). In the back of her mind, Andromeda still thought about the offer given to her by the Chaos agent to be a proud dragon rider...

Jailbirds: After Zenar, Andromeda went to planet Achelois with Sailor Enyalius and Achelois to escort the fairies of Zenar back to their now purified home. Along the way they decided to stop in a planet, where they unknowingly fell into some trouble.

Remnants: Once again, Crystal Tokyo has received a distress call from a planet believed to be uninhabited. Andromeda signs up to be part of the team to check out what's going on. They ended up being stuck in a maze with deadly traps, where they found a captive by the name of Ribbon who had claimed to be the one calling for help after she was kidnapped. After many battles and desperate attempts to escape, they found out that a Chaos agent was responsible for creating the maze which was meant to trap the Solar System senshi. Ribbon was working with them after all, though after receiving kindness from Andromeda's team, she was won over to their side. On the way home after finally escaping the maze, the team discovered the solar system blanketed by an impenetrable shield. A visit to Pluto allowed them to contact Earth, after which they realized they had been missing for five whole months, and that Chaos attacks were happening everywhere. Before she could even rest, Andromeda felt her own planet being attacked as well, and rushed to save it without looking back.

The Hero's Ghost: In Crystal Tokyo, Andromeda ran into a guardian from Jupiter called Perseus, who mistook her for the original Sailor Andromeda. She invited him to her planet to learn more about her predecessor. Curious why there was no mention of her, Kira then proceeded to conduct an investigation, in which she discovered that all traces of the first Sailor Andromeda had mysteriously been erased. When the sea monster from her awakening day seemingly resurfaced, she and Percy went to battle it, only to find that it was a manifestation of the original Andromeda's lingering spirit, whose name was Princess Nerida. She too had battled the sea monster three hundred years ago together with Percy, but failed and perished. She had erased her own legacy due to her feeling of shame and failure. But after Kira and Percy convinced her that her sacrifice was not for nothing and that she was still a hero in her own right, her spirit could finally rest in peace and returned to the Galaxy Cauldron. Her legacy was restored as it should be.

The Heroes' Quest: Percy returned to planet Andromeda for a visit, hoping for a calmer trip. Andromeda took her to a bar and introduced her to girls, not realizing that she was about to be reunited with her long lost guardian, Narcissus, who was about to get in trouble with a certain beautiful Gorgon called Medusa.

The Hero's Knight: A friend from the past appeared in the form of her new knight, Marina Ceto. Kira was finally forced to deal with her inner demons, and learned to trust someone from her kingdom who genuinely wanted to help her get past her issues.

Andromeda Spire: When Chaos attacked her planet, Andromeda finally returned to it after her five months long mission in order to save it from ruin. She succeeded in eradicating the seed of Chaos with the help of a sailor team and received an upgrade to her powers, becoming Celestial Sailor Andromeda.

Smooth Times on the Andromeda Star: After the events of Andromeda Spire, Kira invited one of the senshi that had helped cleanse the planet - Sailor Makemake - to stay on Andromeda and get to know each other better.

An Andromeda Adventure: Nocturnus paid Andromeda a visit, and the two finally got to hang out in a non life-threatening situation. But their peace did not last long as someone from Nocturnus' past tracked her down to Andromeda.

Fields of Enyalius: When the news of Sailor Enyalius' corruption reached her, Andromeda joined the team of senshi flying toward planet Enyalius in an attempt to save her friend and older sister figure. In the process, she met and changed the fate of Nikos, a soldier in planet Enyalius, causing him to bear the curse of being the last man alive on the planet because she stood up for him in front of Enyo, Sailor Enyalius' evil alter ego. Despite their best efforts, after Sailor Achelois was taken, the group had to fight their way to the palace against hordes of undead, and even after all that, they were too late. They arrived in time to see Achelois slashing Enyo's throat, killing her. What remained was her Sailor Crystal, but even that was stolen by a mysterious figure of Chaos that Ribbon spoke about back in the maze. The string of events left Andromeda devastated and crushed, but after promising to Nikos that she would return to him, she continued her journey to follow Achelois, who had gone after the Chaos agent, intent on recovering Enyalius' Sailor Crystal and returning it to where it belonged; the Galaxy Cauldron.

Other Noteworthy Facts: When not in senshi form, her bracelets turn into slimmer, less chain-like version which she never takes off. She uses them as a reminder of what she went through and how she was strong enough to break free of the chains that once bound her.

Senshi Fuku: Sailor Andromeda's main color is turquoise. Her bodice and gloves are white. Her skirt has two colors; turquoise and a darker shade. Her shoulder pads are white and semi-transparent. Her collar, brooch, tiara star, and shoes are all in varying shades of turquoise. She wears knee-high boots with white stripes on top. Her earrings are star shaped. Her choker, bracelets, front bow, back bow, and glove end is gray. She also wears white hair pins. A recent minor upgrade has given her a light silver chest plate, silver arm bracers, and armored boots.

In her Celestial form, her tiara turns into turquoise pearls with a star in the middle, her shoulder pads become more armor-like, she now has a turquoise front bow that is bigger as well as longer turquoise back bow that resembles a kelp. She now has two ribbons around her waist, one turquoise and one white.

Powers:

• Flight: She has the ability to generate white wings on her back, for use when travelling through space.
  
• Steel Chain Cascade: From her bracelets, she can generate lengths of steel chain which then would encircle themselves around a specific enemy and effectively immobilize any of their movements.
  
• Wave Tide Maelstrom: She can summon powerful ocean waves which would swirl and crash around an enemy, causing damage. She can also use this attack to create a powerful whirlpool that can suck someone in and drown them if they don't figure out a way to escape.
  
• Ripple Shard: An attack that sends little sharp blades of steel toward an enemy - the effect of which is like standing beneath raining shards of glass.
  
• Water Sphere: A defensive move in which she surrounds herself in a sphere made out of water that is able to withstand magical attacks as well as physical ones. If an enemy touches her and she pulls up the sphere, they will be propelled away. She can also enlarge the sphere to shield and protect up to two allies.
  
• Andromeda Ocean Fury: An attack that is only possible to perform with the Battle Trident of Andromeda. It generates a powerful force in the form of wind and blinding light that cause a lot of damage. It is her strongest attack.
  
• Triton's Blessing: She is now able to heal herself when she comes into contact with sea water. As this relates to her own blood's connection with the ocean, she is unable to heal anyone else in the same way. Only sea water will work. Healing happens automatically upon contact with ocean water even when she is unconscious as long as she still has access to her magic
  

Weapons or Magical Items:

• The Chrome Blade of Abyss: The weapon she used to slaughter the sea monster and which has become hers ever since. She needs only to call for it to have it materialize in her hand. It's capable of cutting through anything, including steel.
  
• Bracelets: Once the chains that bound her, these bracelets now become sources of power for her and the items she needs to perform Steel Chain Cascade.
  
• Battle Trident of Andromeda: The ancient weapon that belonged to the first Sailor Andromeda, who had since returned to the Galaxy Cauldron. Kira received this weapon during her rescue mission and battle against The Collector and the weapon is now bonded to her as the new guardian of Andromeda. It is the item she needs to perform Andromeda Ocean Fury, though it can also function like a normal trident.
  

Guardian: Narcissus, a brown sea otter who also has a human form. Narcissus never appeared to Kira because he was also Nerida's (previous Sailor Andromeda) guardian, and he felt as if he had failed her utterly when she died. Since Kira seemed to be doing fine on her own, he kept himself in hiding until he ran across Perseus, who recognized him with Nerida from his first trip to Andromeda. Having been abandoned by him, Kira tells him she doesn't need him, even if he had tried to protect her from Medusa by almost sacrificing his life.
 
RP Sample:

Kira stood at the beach, letting the wind whip her long hair around her face. The ocean had always been her good friend, and after the sea monster was vanquished, it had turned back into the familiar and comfortable place that she had always loved. The period of time in which she was forbidden to get close to here was tough, but now she drew her powers from it. The ocean had once threatened to swallow her whole, but just like the chains that bound her, Kira had turned all her enemies into the things that made her powerful.

The city had been growing restless again as of late. It seemed like a new enemy might be on the horizon. Kira didn’t know who or what it was yet, but more and more people had turned up sick and some were dying. Whatever was spreading this plague, she intended to defeat it. There was talk of strange sightings in the northern lake and she was about to make the quite long trek there.

As the sole guardian of Andromeda, Kira vowed to take care of anyone and everyone who threatened the safety of her kingdom. Over the last few months she had heard stories about other guardians like her—sailor senshi from other stars and planets. She heard that there were even some of them working together, and there were particularly many in a planet called Earth. She envied them; they did not have her loneliness and they had comrades-in-arms with whom they could fight.

Lately Kira’s solitude was starting to eat away on her more. Her burden weighing her down further. To stay here was her responsibility, and yet she knew the more she stuck around her family, the more the toxic feelings she kept for them would grow and fester. She needed to forgive and forget… but she didn’t know how.

Shaking the thoughts of distant stars and planets, Kira focused her mind back on the task at hand and decided to do what she knew for sure she had to. She couldn’t dream of companions; that was not a luxury she could afford. She had been bestowed this power and a second chance at life. If sacrifices had to be made, then she would make them.

Still, the emptiness in her heart remained like a hole that could never be filled.

Sometimes she transformed with a yell, other times she did it in a whisper. This was one of the latter times.

Aww I started reading it and felt sad for her already. What a sad history. I enjoyed reading it though xD I especially love that she's found a strength in what has happened, instead of letting it break her. And that she uses those same chains for an attack is really cool!

Have her parents ever attempted to apologize for what they did? We know that Kira plays the perfect princess when dealing with them, but I am just curious if they ever even tried to amend things with her.

I am also curious: for her Ripple Shard attack, are the bits of steel blades created from her Chrome Blade weapon? If not, is there an attack that she uses her weapon for, or is it a more physical weapon, rather than magical?

Ah, I didn't mention it in the history, did I? But yeah, they totally did apologize and tried to make up for what they did. She's just being stubborn about the forgiving bit.

For the Ripple Shard attack she doesn't need any item, it's like a regular senshi attack. The Chrome Blade is more of a physical weapon, though it's stronger than an ordinary blade.

Okay! That's cool to have a pure physical weapon xD And really, this poor girl needs a hug.

I enjoyed reading this, it told such a deep history and the sadness one can get. I loved the fact when it was the awakening in her powers when I read "Do you want to live?" I though of C.C from Code Geass a little   . I love the battle cries, oh and the weapons, the Trident part is absolutely genius. As for the blade, is it like a alternate person, like a second part of her? Or like it was a one-time thing where it was kind of her conscience? Just wondering...

The blade is just a weapon now, it gained somewhat of a consciousness during the time of her awakening for one-time only, to guide her to realize her true powers.
