Name: Elpis Aoide
Name Meaning: Her first name being “Hope” in Greek, and her last name being “to
sing”, also in Greek.


Sailor History: Across the distance, cold universe, the
white dwarf star, Mustra, with its dim glow orbited alone, having no planets
cycle around it, only the small, crystal-like fortress surrounded by a sea of
asteroids that housed the star’s sole protector: Sailor Astrum.

As long as Elpis could recall, she has only stayed inside
this castle, always watching over the small, fragile star. She has no clue what
age she is, or how long she has been guarding her castle. At first, she
wondered if the star was the only life in the universe, the shining lights she
saw through her castle seeming so far and almost like they were just part of
her imagination. She often stared out to the deep sky, occasionally seeing
sparks of energy and comets fly across the darkness. Seeing the faint lights
made Elpis grow unbearably lonely, never seeing what another life form was
like. Did they look like her? How did they sound? Were they scary? Were they
tall or small? Fat or flat? She wanted
to know.

Inside that crystal castle she began to spend her seemingly
endless time practicing to sing. She figured how her voice echoed throughout
her empty kingdom, maybe if she put all of her energy into it, maybe it’ll
reach across the space and someone will hear her. She would be overjoyed by
just a response of acknowledgement, but her true dream was someone finding her
and taking her away from the lifeless solar system she inhabited.

So she practiced nonstop, every time she woke up, she would
sing out to the empty void in front of her with every speck of energy she had,
only to collapse, rest, and try again. She tried this countless times, and
eventually, Elpis got a response.

She remembered it was right after she finished singing her
heart out, as she slump to the ground in exhaustion, her half lit eyes grew
wide as glee filled in her as she saw a bright beam heading towards her.
Someone heard her, someone actually heard her! Her joy was mixed with confusion
as the bright light rushed past the palace, watching as it struck the dying
star Mustra. Sailor Astrum could only stare in horror has she watched her star
react with the sudden burst of energy, laying there on the ground as she saw
the oncoming blast of the exploding star.

The battered sailor scout wasn’t sure where she was or how
long she was out as she found herself drifting in the void of space. She could
hardly move, everything hurt, only leaving her to her thoughts.

Why did someone do that? Was it an accident? Did someone
really do that on purpose though? To take fire on the withering sun and try to
kill it with its protector, why would someone do that?! As she drifted through
space, she gazed blankly forward, staring at the shining light in the distance.
It emitted such a warm light, it felt almost like it was welcoming her. Even if
it was the last thing she could do, she wants to go to that planet, just to see
if she see what a living thing looked like. Reaching out, she used the last bit
of the energy she had to try and move herself to the planet, as everything
faded back to black.

When she woke up, she found herself on the strange, yet
beautiful placed the life forms there called ‘Earth’.

Mission: She has no real goal, she wishes just to adjust to this strange, new
world and live there happily. Other than that, to find the person who destroyed
the star Mustra, not for revenge, but to ask them why they attacked her.

Personality: Due to having all of her life insolation, Elpis has a very meek
personality, very shy when someone tries to speak to her, but she is very
friendly and pleasant, just happy to be around someone. She knows very limited
words, still learning how to speak, so communication is very awkward for the
girl, mostly just flailing her arms around in an attempt to sign something with
her hands. Elpis is also a very curious girl, always walking off if something catches
her eye, so people tend to view her as very spacey with such a short attention
span. She’s very eager to learn more things about the strange new world she
inhabits, getting excitable whenever she discovers something new.

Her childlike innocence can be viewed as sweet and adorable,
but for a Sailor scout, it leaves her heavily conflicted when faced with an
enemy, often too scared to attack it, only going on the offensive if someone
else is trouble. It is because of this she often wonders if she should even
attempt to transform anymore, always seeming to do more harm than good, only
acting if someone is already in danger than to prevent it. She thinks that, but
deep inside, she knows cannot give up, not as long as others may be in danger.



Likes: Animals, singing, sightseeing, sweets, flowers, crowds, and people.
Dislikes: Cruelty, ‘angry sounds’, fighting, any negative feelings, and being
alone.
Strong Points: She has a big heart and willing help you to the best of her
ability.

Weapons:
Items: The star she has on the choker she wears is the broach which she
transforms with; she also has a microphone she gains after she transforms.

Attack 1: “Mustra’s Aria” She sings a wordless melody that can heal all of
those who hear her.
Attack 2: “Blinding Flash” From her hands, she releases a light bright enough
to temporarily blind an enemy, even hurt them if they are affected by light.
Attack 3: “Astrum: Falling Stars” She collects her energy in her palms as she
puts them near her heart, spreading her arms out to release several streams of
energy that resembles falling stars in a night sky.

Phew, finally finished her! My inspiration for Elpis was the ending of Macross: Do You Remember Love? and the Hatsune Miku song 'Melody'. As for the star she represented, Mustra, I wanted the galaxy she lived in to be an empty shell, imagining that the galaxy was similar to the Sailor Moon universe's, full of planets with their own soldiers, but something like an ancient war or tragedy happened, destroying everything but the star of it.
