GC RPG Event: School Ghost Hunt 8/10-8/31

Everyone is welcomed to join this roleplay but you must sign up in the announcement thread before you are allowed to start roleplaying in this thread. The School Ghost Hunt roleplay will feature the always given theme but unlike our previous roleplay events, The School Ghost Hunt is more free flowing in terms of restrictions. Instead, this roleplay event will have two main points that it must reach before the deadlines.

The RP staff members who will guide you are Sailor Venus and Sailor Neptune. They will be guiding you as the ghosts of the school.


Back story (Theme):

"Many strange things have happened lately at the Azabu Juuban high school and the students have heard rumors of people experiencing paranormal phenomena from hearing voices when alone in the hallway to mysterious silhouettes and shadows seen late at night through the school windows. The brave students of the school have decided to find out the truth and gather one night to enter the school once the lights go out. Will the team find out the rumors being just fiction or will they end up witnessing things that have been only spoken of at camp fires? Now it is up to them to solve the mystery…"


Rules

1. To sign up, please go to the announcement thread that can be found here, and post 'signing up' including the character's name who you want to play as into your post. Any character is acceptable so you can choose whoever your heart just desires to be.

2. The roleplay must reach the two main goals by the given dates or one of the roleplay staff will step in and automatically change the story setting. Please see the goals and dates below.

3. Please remember that all GC rules apply to this event, as well.


Goals:

Goal A: The team must find a way into the school. This goal must be reached on or before 8/17.

Goal B: The team must find the source of the rumors/ haunting. This goal must be reached on or before 8/31.

The ghost left out a small sigh when she sat down on a windowsill. The past day had been yet another boring one and every time she had shown up close to the classrooms as a shadow, the students had got frightened before she could even try to talk to them. Where would the point be if she never had a chance to face a human being face to face and actually chat with them? This had continued from the first day the ghost had entered the school building and she had become more bored every passing day.

It was starting to get dark again which meant that a new long night that had nothing exciting in it was approaching. She wished that there would be some life at the school at night time at least for once instead of the dark time ending up being a night when the ghosts' only company were the birds that had made a nest to an oak tree near the school. But would an eventful night be too much to ask for?

Seiya was at the arcade eating a burger and fries waiting for everyone else to show up. He was back on Earth along with Princess Kakyuu, Yaten, and Taiki. They kind of missed being here it was different. While being back in school at Azabu Juuban he had heard about the ghost rumors and later found out a few of his classmates plus the other senshi were going to try and sneak into the school. That was the meeting was about. Yaten and Taiki decided not to get involved with the matter, but Princess Kakyuu decided to come as well much to their surprise.

Haruka leaned against the side of the school. the others told her they would meet her right in this spot so after track practice had let out she had changed and come over here to wait for them. She was sure the others would have already eaten dinner she could only hope Michiru would bring her some of the left overs from dinner so she could have something to eat while they were here. She hadn't been to upset about the group that got together for this that was until someone said there was a good chance the starlight's would want to join them. She leaned her head back against the wall closing her eyes briefly waiting for the others to show up slipping her hands into the pockets of her school uniform she bent one leg and put her foot flat against the wall. She cold only hope that a certain person would in fact not be joining them that night.

Minako hummed a little tune under her breath as she hurried down the sidewalk. She was running late. It was all Artemis' fault. She had told him her plans for the evening and he had spent over an hour insisting that ghosts did not exist. Coming from a talking cat, Minako thought that was pretty funny. Out of everyone, she figured that her little group of friends had the most reason to believe in ghosts. Reincarnated princesses from the Moon, anyone? If they believed in that, and since it was their life, why not believe in ghosts?

She broke into a run when she got closer to the school, dodging pedestrians as she hurried across the street. Blue eyes scanned the sidewalk outside of the school, looking for her friends. So far the only one she saw was was Haruka, who was leaning against a wall. Minako had to wonder where everyone else was.

"HARUKA!" Minako cried, waving her hand frantically. "I'M HERE!"

Ami noticed Haruka and Minako standing by the wall and quickly hurried towards them, adjusting the heat camera on her goggles.

Rei was mad. She just knew someone had told her the wrong time. She was, of course, finished all her homework, her chores, and her fire reading before setting out from the temple to their meeting point. She had even managed a quick call to Usagi - Lord knew someone needed to keep tabs on the girl and make sure she even knew what day of the week it was.

And yet, she just had some sense she was late. She ran along the sidewalk as fast as she could until she was just around the corner from the meeting point, where she stopped and bent over, hands on her knees catching her breath. When she was sure she had recovered, and her cheeks had died down from bright red to their usual alabaster, she composed herself and strolled casually round the corner.

"Oh hi, Minako, and Haruka. You're early!" She side-eyed Minako. "For once."

Makoto arrived, analyzing the scene. Rei seemed upset, though she couldn't understand why; Ami was wearing strange-looking goggles.

"Hey, Ami," Makoto said. "What's up with your goggles today?"

She was actually surprised Ami had showed up, and even arrived early; she couldn't see Ami getting excited about breaking into a learning institution.

Ami begun adjusting the infrared setting on her Mercury goggles, hoping to catch a glimpse of the ghost. 

"Well, she's really excited about this, Rei, of course she'd be early. Oh and Haruka, where's Michi?"

Zoisite was mad, they had came back to life. and they were good now. But Kunzite just had to do it, did he. he sent Zoisite to school, only because he was still 17.  and he got stuck with after school stuff..  He wondered around they outside. he then spotted the others

Minako tossed her hair over her shoulder and didn't respond to Rei's dig. She was way too excited to get worked up over something Rei said. She eyed Ami, wondering how much the goggles would actually help them. At Makoto's arrival, she grinned and looped her arm through Makoto's.

"One more to join our merry crew!" she said with an infectious grin. She couldn't help it. Ghosts at their school! It sure beat youma. She glanced around, noticing a male figure in the distance. "Who else are we waiting for? I'm ready to go ghost hunting!"

Naru waited outside the gate to Umino's house, arms crossed over her chest. They were going to be late to meet the others for the ghost hunt if he wasn't ready soon. She wasn't sure what could be taking him so long, but with Umino it was impossible to guess. He could be cooking an elaborate picnic dinner and midnight snack, or building some kind of ghost-hunting machine, or studying newspaper articles related to the school's ghost, or searching for the perfect ghost-protective attire... She had no idea what was holding him up.

"Seriously, Umino-kun!" Naru exclaimed to the empty street, nervously tucking a few strands of ginger hair behind her ear, "I hope you're ready soon!"

Makoto nodded at Minako, returning her grin. This was pretty exciting! "Let's see... Minako, Haruka, Ami, Rei, myself... Oh, hi, Zoisite!" she said with a wave. "It seems like we're missing quite a few people, actually. Didn't Seiya say he was going to join us?"

"Unfortunately." Ami added, casting glances at Haruka. "And Mako, I'm here early for two reasons. First, because I want to show Usagi and Minako that science is important, and secondly, I'm making sure Haruka and Seiya don't murder each other"

Makoto grinned. "I'll help you with that second task, then. I will not let Haruka and Seiya murder each other!" She looked over at Haruka, curious how the older student would react to her teasing.

Haruka Smirked at Minako. "so since one of the impossible happened and Minako is early should we be expecting Koneko to be early to." the blond asked the others that had joined her and Minako. Haruka cracked an eye open as the others spoke. "Michi went home after school ended she should be here soon she had to feed Hotaru and Setsuna." she said. "hello Zoisite." Haruka said waving to the boy. She scowled at the mention of Seiya joining them. "Well if you think your fast enough to keep me from killing him Kino go right ahead." she said teasingly calling the brunette by her last name and adding a wink to the end for good measure to make sure the brunette knew she was teasing. "speaking of which does anyone know why our dear princess decided to join us isn't she afraid of ghosts?" the blond asked after a moments thoughts.

 "Naaarruuu!!" Umino jumped out at her from behind the gate, his normal glasses replaced by impressively thick goggles. "Here! Put these on!" he thrust another pair of goggles at her (these much less thick; his were, apparently, modified to fit his prescription). "I've got everything ready!" He pointed back to the enormous backpack as he listed items, "Shrine tokens, prayer beads, infrared readers, plasma detectors, nightvision filters, radiowave readers, homing beacons, walkie talkies, and a healthy midnight snack! C'mon!" he grabbed for her hand, "We can't let them go in without this scientific equipment! We can definitively prove the existence of ghosts with this stuff! I saw it on "Ghost Hunters International"!"

"Usagi, early? That's not asking for the impossible to happen, but for a miracle," Minako joked. She bounced up and down. "I wonder if it really is a ghost. Artemis insists that ghosts aren't real."

Hearing Makoto and Ami talk about preventing fights, Minako shook her head and sidled up between them and said in a loud whisper. "You can't stop them. I have a bet going on over how long it takes before Haruka throws the first punch." She paused and gave Makoto a side eyed glance. "You want to put some money on it, Mako-chan? Current odds are 5-1 that Haruka lasts 10 minutes before she loses it."

Seeing as no one else was showing up at the arcade. Seiya ordered another couple of burgers to go. He heard that a certain racer was going to be part of the hunt too. How annoying. Maybe if he was lucky a certain blonde bun head girl would be there too. And one way to make her happy is with food. Seiya left the arcade and started heading towards the school to meet everyone else.

"I bet that if Haruka and Seiya start fighting, they'll scare off the ghost," Makoto said. She wondered if 'bet' was the right word to use, as Minako might interpret that as her placing an actual bet and might ask for money later... "So we should do our best to stop it from happening."

Rei tapped her foot impatiently as her friends discussed ghosts and the seemingly inevitable clash of Haruka and Seiya. Just as well she was here to stop Minako and Usagi (where was she?) and maybe even Mako getting carried away. She sighed upwardly, blowing her fringe up, and stomped over to Ami. "I can't believe you're going along with this, Ami-chan!"

"Well, Rei" Ami began "I'm only doing this as a way to show Usagi and Minako that science is important in the real world."

Rei rolled her eyes. Oh, Ami. She glanced at Minako and Mako. She was pretty sure they weren't here to learn about science. They were probably hoping for some cute ghosty guys or something. She shook her head in half-hearted annoyance. "Ok, fine. So who are we waiting on, apart from our obvious always tardy so-called friend..?"

"Let's see" Ami said as she removed a list from her bag "Apart from Usagi, we're still waiting on Michiru, Setsuna, Seyia, Princess Kakyuu, Diana, Naru, and Umino."

Michiru walked towards the group with A Tupperware dish full of warm soup for Haruka. She smiled warmly when she seen the tall blond racer but immediately frowned when she started talking about beating up Seiya.

"Ruka I'm surprised at your behavior! We came to figure out what was going on here, and ill have you know there will be NO fighting while I'm around!" Michiru warned, the soup in one hand and the other pointedly at Haruka's chest. She gave her [i]the look[i] just to make sure she understood.

"Oh and before I forget here's some leftover stew Setsuna and I made." She replied handing the bowl to Haruka along with a bottle of water.

Naru blushed with embarrassment at Umino's usual and expected over-the-top preparations...but she also blushed just a bit because he was so adorable when he was excited about something. Umino really devoted himself to everything 1000%--that was one of the many things she loved about him. ♥ Naru kept the goggles clenched tightly in her other hand as she somewhat shyly took the hand that he offered to her. Hopefully it wouldn't take them too long to reach the meeting location.

Holding her hand almost casually (she still gave him butterflies!) Umino ran with Naru to the school; the bag slowed him down, along with his stature and lack of physical activity, but he wouldn't let that keep him down! They were ghost hunting! As they approached the school he slowed down and turned bravely to his girlfriend, "If the group decides to split up, let's make sure we're on a team together, okay? I brought a modified laser with me, just in case the ghost is bad news."

Naru blushed again and gently shoved Umino's shoulder with the hand that still gripped the goggles he had given her.

"Don't be silly, Umino-kun! Of course we'll be on the same team."

She couldn't imagine being separated from him for something like this. He was the only person she knew she could depend on.

Makoto had a point. If Haruka and Seiya fought, it could scare the ghost away. Just then Michiru showed up and Minako had a hard time smothering giggles as the older girl scolded Haruka. She covered her mouth and turned her head away until she had herself under control.

She sighed and looked Ami. "Ami, do you think we'll find ghosts?"
