What do you guys say to a Writing or RolePlaying Workshop? It'd be in real-time, just a discussion about a writing or the how-tos of RPing - how to create a fleshy character, how to participate actively/keep up with writing, how to make an engaging plot, the works?

Bump/poke Hello!  

I am interested in working with either workshop. I would like to participate as a panelist for the role-playing workshop and a guest for the writing workshop. I'll switch to being either a panelist or a guest depending on if you don't have enough of one or the other. I prefer... weekends, any time of day. My schedule is a bit too random to pinpoint a specific time of the week. Skype would be awesome.

Both workshops, guest but panelist if you need me to be, weekend is best, any time of the day, skype!!

I'd be up for being a panelist for either workshop. Weekdays (any time afternoon usually) are usually best for me since the weekend is when i spend time with the family. Skype would be best for ed.

Okay! I'm thinking the first workshop will be on character creation! And fleshing out. XD both otaku senshi  and straight up original characters will be talked about, and during/afterwards we can get writing guild buddies going! <3 

The date is tba, but I'm on a mini loa net week, so probably next weekend would be the earliest date for the workshop. I'll make an official announcement once the date is decided. ^^

Two things real quick:

1. We totally need to have open otaku-senshi creation workshops in April for something happening in the Roleplay section. I was thinking of offering it three times to offer as many people as possible a chance to come get help, and while I will be there for theses, I'd love it if others with "successful" otaku senshi (ones they have used before in roleplay or in writing) would attend at least one, too, to help host!
I was thinking about these three dates for those:
 Yay/nay?


2. Would you guys like to have one in March, before that date, as like a "practice" workshop (as Ed suggested! ^^) and to work on a character you could bring to another workshop?  If yes, how does next weekend sound? XD

how about in addition to having several days why not ones on Skype, tiny chat and even here in the CB? so we can really expand our audience. I mean we could even have a one time chat thing or something so we can really work on these Characters for the writers.

Those time work well for me i like the idea of more than one workshop for the same topic.

! I like expanding off of skype XD I just didn't know how well opening a chatbox thing for it would go; I could see people wandering into the chatbox and coming across a roleplay without batting an eye, but I didn't know how serious workshopping would fare. .... BUT THEN WHY OT JUST MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNEW IT WAS GOING ON.

I think there are even sites were we can set up one time chat boxes, for these we could give a link to those. I'll have to look around for them.

So.... how's Thursday sound for the first workshop?

Works we'll for me. I'll be done with my school stuff by then so I'll have nothing stopping me from being there! Will we be on skype tinychat or what?

Works for me!  I had this idea for guild RPs in a way, I think we could use Skype or something like it and work with our rp guild buddies, (I'm thinking we have writing buddies and rp buddies cause not everyone here does both and writers may not want paired with players and vice versa) and that pair then RPs out a chat based rp of whatever storyline with whatever characters. As things get more advanced we give the players the storyline to complete and the characters they play to get used to playing as characters outside our comfort zones. 

This can work in away for the writing buddies, a topic is given and one shots written then shared with their buddy and good positive feedback is given!
