Honestly I am not looking forward to this show. As a makeup artist myself, I was excited to see syfy's face off. I was extremely disappointed that they showed practically none of the creative process but had tons of drama. This show looks like it'll be exactly the same.

I have to agree, but I'd love to at least see the finished product of these cosplay.

This is definitely the best place to put it   I love seeing cosplay in general on here!

I would love to watch it, but as a cosplayer myself I am totally unsure. There are already people calling cosplayers weirdos and freaks, while that doesn't bother me it has bothered other people who aren't as cosplay-confident to where they stop doing something they love. I don't think cosplay is a competitive sport like syfy thinks, but I guess I won't let my first impression be ruined. I'll watch the first episode to see what it's all about. :-)

So I watched the first episode and it's not judged by syfy people. It's actual people competing in real conventions.

So who's been watching this? There's been two episodes so far.  I surprisingly don't hate it like I thought I would! Sure, it's staged and has drama - but I think it's great in that it gives people an idea of how dedicated and serious cosplayers are (or can be) about this hobby.  I know I'm certainly guilty of crying over cosplay!
Anyways, I think it's a pretty enjoyable watch and it has me VERY excited for my upcoming con.

I'm ehh about it, it doesn't stop me from watching it.
However it does show wayyy to much of the competition side. It isn't all about the competition, heck its only like 1/5 of actual cosplay. I like that its getting the word out but I don't like the fact it can also give us a bad name. Cosplay is serious but it also isn't. Its serious in the extent of trying to get your costume exactly perfect and its many art forms coming together to make something awesome. However I'm not fumbling over myself to say this costume will make me or break me.
I'm just 50/50 on it, I'm still kinda disappointed in Yaya for saying those things in the first episode. I know it can be precieved as something else entirely through editing but those couple of words are negative no matter how they are said. >.>
