I'm glad everyone is safe!

Great to hear everyone is doing alright! Thank you NQS for the news!

I just got power back thankfully. Only two days without it wasn't so bad, given so many people won't have it back for a week or so. Half my town did flood over by the bay, but my section was pretty much okay. A few trees down here and there and a few pieces of siding off my house.

Long Beach Island didn't fare well at all. The bridge from my town to it is still closed and expected to be blocked for at least two weeks.

Oh wow, that's pretty bad. My heart goes out to all those people.

I finally have power back and life is back to normal. My town was hit very hard and several areas were destroyed, endless blocks flooded, homes gutted and destroyed and just absolute atrocities. I have never seen anything like it. There are still so many people who have no heat or power.

The first week was really bad. We had no running water or power and we were down to the bare necessities. We couldn't use our toilets, which is a very scary thing. Thankfully, we have a fireplace and it was the only thing keeping us warm. My brother and his son have been living with us because their home was destroyed and life in general became very different. It still is but is finally easing back to the way it was before.

Also, even though our block was flooded, our cars survived! My goodness, I was so scared about that.


Anyway, I hope everyone else who endured this hurricane is alright. I've missed you all.
