I recently had scoliosis surgery on my back two months ago and if anyone has had it/will be having it I am open for questions/support.

I have been a sailor moon fan all my life. It started with watching the 3 movies over and over, although Promise of the Rose (that is the name right?) has been my favorite. I started buying random episodes/DVDS/videos from Walmart and watching them as well. When my mom got her money from a car accident she bought me the season one box set, and I watched all the episodes in Japanese/English sub. Last year I made it a project of mine to watch every episode I have not seen yet and completed my goal. Now I am currently watching the Sailor Moon Live Action series on youtube.

Overall I am a bubbly random person who will listen to anyone who needs an ear and will always try to cheer you up.

Actually, many of my friends,family, and I think my doctor as well are quite baffled because I don't take any pain med and I am not in pain at all. Before the surgery my arm always burned so did my ribs, but now I am SUPERRRRR

I even went to an amusement park and rode all the rides I normally would (except the roller coaster) and I wasn't even bothered at all! It is just weird not bending my torso... but I am used to it already.

How bad was your scoliosis? I also have it but they will not do anything for me since they said its not important/bad enough, even though it kills my back.

I have some back troubles, too (I have a swayback) but nothing serious. I just slouch a lot!

Haha wonder woman! I feel like it sometimes but gosh... I get to sleep very easily and I have been sleeping 10+ hours a night :/

Basically, my spine has an unnatural curve, so I slouch A LOT.

I didn't know where else to post this so I am posting it here. I do apologize but I just wanted to make everyone aware I am getting more surgery Friday and won't be very active this coming weekend due to it. Also I start college Monday on top of it. I will do my best to stay active.

I hope your surgery goes smoothly, though. (And if possible, could you give me any advice on how to keep scoliosis from progressing? I apparently have a minor S-curve that's trying to start, and I want to stop it before it would ever need surgery.)

By the time I found out anything I was too old for bracing. I was about 17 at the time? So the same might be true for you. If your curve is very small you shouldn't have to worry about it progressing. Both my curves were in the 40s and getting worse. Within a few years the top progressed by 10 degrees. You can find an orthopedic if you want and maybe they can recommend bracing anyway.

Well, according to the orthopedic it was at 6% for both curves, but since my grandmother has it so badly they said mine could keep progressing. So I was hoping there might be some non-invasive preventatives.

Well that is something to ask your doctor about. Next time you see him ask him.
