The young girl walked on the street alongside Artemis as they were on their way to the vet. Hotaru had been worried about the cat for the whole day and finally she was bringing the cat to someone who could help him. Seeing anyone, especially animals sick was something Hotaru couldn’t bear. She kept her other eye on Artemis, not letting her attention get away from the cat for a second while walking. The clinic wasn’t too far away but Hotaru was afraid that the distance could still feel long for the cat as he was probably not feeling well at all. But at least the two of them had some luck since there wasn’t much crowd on the streets today which at least made walking easier as Hotaru could keep her attention on Artemis rather than needing to dodge people every moment.
The day had been hot from the very beginning and Hotaru found herself wiping her forehead even though the clothes she wore were light both in materials and colors, like she had used to wear in hot days. She regretted that she didn’t take a water bottle with her when she left from home since cold water would make her, as well as Artemis, feel much cooler in this heat. The purple eyed girl made up her mind that before they would return home from this trip, she would buy ice-creams to both of them and they would enjoy those summer treats properly inside a café rather than walking under the bright hot sunshine.
Hotaru wondered what made Artemis not feel well and she knew that her mind would not leave her in peace before she would get to know the answer to that question. She definitely loathed situations where she could do nothing but only watch aside and as long as Artemis would walk on his own feet, Hotaru wouldn’t stop worrying about him nor could she quicken her pace when all her attention would be drawn to the cat.
How she hoped that she could help Artemis with her powers but most likely it wouldn’t be any help since her healing powers could only heal visible or major physical injuries. Hotaru let a sigh leave her lips when her thought about that fact and her head lowered down a bit, her eyes partially on the road, still not letting the cat out of her sight.
Surely she could do something if she knew what was wrong with Artemis but since she didn’t, she just had to hope that the vet could figure things out quickly. Hotaru slowed down her pace and turned to speak to Artemis “Hey Artemis, would you prefer me to carry you? It would bother me to do so” she asked the cat almost whispering, her purple eyes filled with worry.
