So here I guess we can compile a list of places we've bought/rented textbooks where they were cheap. Also here you can warn anyone about services that aren't that good. I use Chegg, but it does get expensive if you are ordering multiple things.

Whenever I look for textbooks, I have four tabs opened:

1. List of textbooks I need
2. My school's bookstore
3. Amazon.com
4. Chegg

Then I make an Excel document with the name of each book in one column, the bookstore price in another, the amazin price, the chegg price, and then one to put where I end up actually purchasing the book and when it comes in so that at the end of the semester I can return it in my bookstore or return it if it's rented. Then I obviously pick the lowest price of each and buy them

I do that too minus the spreadsheet. I usually do one textbook at a time and so far chegg has been my best option. My schools bookstore prices are ridiculous..I needed a yoga book for my yoga class and it's 10 bucks at chegg and at school it's like 50!

I know, me too -.- But since my school is SUPER small some textbooks that were written by professors aren't anywhere online and I have to get them in the bookstore :/

yeah since I'm only at community college, I don't really have any books like that. I just hate how it's so expensive just to rent a book!

Depending on the subject, sometimes it really doesn't matter if you get an older edition. Of course, than you can't sell it back...
