I remember watching Sailor Moon as a little girl, and making up a dance to go with the theme song, inventing a (total Mary Sue) twin sister to Princess Serenity. Then I discovered the manga, and was blown away by it. The whole storyline (a princess who faught in an ancient war, born as a normal girl thousands of years later with no memory of who she was, struggling to fight the darkness that was growing, her dawning comprehension of her past, and her future as a glorious Queen, and, eventually, a being of untold power) resonated with me on soul deep level.

In high school, I mentally assigned my friends "sailor" designations.

Sailor Moon introduced me to the world of fanfic (and fandom in general).

Much of my personal ascetic was taken from Naoko's art - clean, flowing lines, soft curves, tiny details.

After a lifetime of wanting my hair to be long enough to do odangos, I finally bit the bullet three years ago and vowed not to cut my hair until it was past my butt. It's hip length now.

I spend ages sitting around, creating backstories and headcannons for Sailor Moon, but never actually write fic to let me use it.

I have a collection of songs that are totally about sailor moon, even if the songwriter has never heard of it.


(Personal note: I'm a mid twenties stay at home mom of my first child who's not quite a year old. I'm going to college sporadically, but trying to get my husband to graduate first. I may or may not have married someone tall, lean, with black floppy hair (no blue eyes, though), who looks smokin in a tuxedo. My other passion is Harry Potter, I recently discovered Doctor Who, and I have probably a dozen fandoms. I'm OCD and relax by organizing my pinterest boards.)
