So I saw a really interesting debate on tumblr concerning Usagi's hairstyle, (I don't believe there is a topic on this). It seems some people are for it, and some people are against any change.

Personally, I wish she let her hair down more often, it's so pretty, but I would love to see it in some of the styles we saw the other senshi wear in the manga series.

I think she should always have odangos in some form, but I do like it when she has it a little varied. Like this one:

But having no odangos at all seems weird to me (besides like bedtime things xD) because they are her hairstyle and they are her signature. It just wouldn't be the same without ;-;

I agree with both of you and have thought about this before, I like it when you see her getting ready for bed or something in the anime and her hair is down. I think they shouldn't do it too much, because of course we love dem odangos, but I think it'd be nice if we saw her without them a little more often. But I guess some people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Usagi and Minako if she did it that often, which might be why we don't see more of it :p

I love her odangos! I think having them with long pigtails added to her innocence and cuteness. But at the same time I like her hair down too. I love to draw hair and I think the ondangos are more fun to draw because you can do so much with the pig tails. I guess I also like her hairstyle as it is because it is different. The other characters wear their hair in a manner that anyone can in real life.

I also think her hair in odangos is part of what makes her so iconic and recognizable.

The odangos are must, but I love it when her hair is down! Usagi's hair so pretty! I wish she would wear her hair down more often. Or perhaps in a single pigtail? I think she would look cute!

Yes! I would have loved to see it at least once, just to see what it would look like. Does anyone have an image from an anime/manga that I'm just not remembering? Because I'm pretty sure we've never seen that!

No I don't think we have ever seen her hair up in a ponytail.

i agree, it would be nice to see a few more styles, but for the majority i wanna see the odangos here to stay. they are her trade mark and what seperates her from every other manga character.

I think Usagi is absolutely beautiful with her hair down. I think it is because she rarely wears her hair like this that makes her so beautiful. But in the end, I prefer her with her odangos. ^^ They are so adorable and her.

The part of episode 91 after 4 minutes where she has her hair down is my favorite I love her odangos as well and I have to agree Usagi wouldn't be the same without Sorry about the dub, first thing I could find quickly

I love her hair in the odangos, but there's one thing that drives me crazy. When she does have her hair down, it doesn't accurately make sense with the length of her odangos. Her hair should be at least ankle length, but when it's down it is shown by her butt.

For me, Usagi isn't Usagi without the odango atama. I like seeing her with her hair down every now and then, like after she's taken a bath or when she's getting ready to go to bed, but she should never have a different hairstyle!

... Or well, variations of it is fine.

i think that once in a while we should see her wearing other hairstyles as well...

I exactly agree! And that hairstyle is ADORABLE. I wish they would have shown the various styles in the anime. So many possibilities and Usagi is adorably girly like that -- she totally would have toyed around with her hair styles like that.

And I wish truly that there had been made a short, either in the anime or the manga, of a comical scene of Mamoru being tangled up in Usagi's long hair. Hee.

I kind of like how her hair is handled already. With it usually being up then on rare occasions her letting it down. Her hair down does look great/really pretty, but her hair in the double buns is adorable and really... well... it's kind of an icon of the series now, that hair style, because it was one of the most unique things about Usagi, and her being the sort of flag/main icon for the series... xD

Though I suppose her having her hair down a little more couldn't hurt at all :3

I always preferred her hair down like in the picture Luna Nova posted, honestly. The same with Chibiusa. Though I feel her hair should always be odangos when in her Senshi and other related forms since I always connected it to the Moon Family personally.

I'm actually quite fond of the Naoko's artwork in which Usagi (plus Chibiusa) has her hair down. She looks awfully pretty with it that style. I agree with Tori, though. When it comes to her being a senshi and other such forms, nothing else besides her Odangos looks right on her.

I'm pretty sure this is why it isn't down more

While Usagi's hair is beautiful in other styles, her odangos are her signature. Yes it's nice to see her without them once in awhile but Usagi wouldn't be Usagi without them. 
However something about her hairstyle that I hope is changed for the reboot is her hair colour. As we know Naoko originally wanted it pink or silver/white but her editors refused to allow it. Although we did see silver haired Usagi as Neo Queen Serenity. 
What I'm really wondering is with Naoko more involved with the anime this time around will Usagi have a different coloured hair? Personally I'd love to see her as a pinkette  I dunno about anyone else but I always wondered, even as a young kid, where Chibiusa got her hair XD x x x

I love Usagi's hair, to be honest, XD. She was the main reason I kept my hair long as a little kid, I think (and it was only cut off fairly recently).

The ondagos are very cute, and definitely her style, but I certainly wouldn't object to seeing her with her hair down or the style tweaked a little more. ^^

I loved her hairstyle when she turned into that... was it a pop idol in the Classic season. Most of her Disguise power hairstyles were awesome.

It was early into the first arc of season one. During Jadeite's section. (And, yes, I did like her various hairstyles. But I think that short-haired!Usagi from Jadeite's second to final episode was actually really cute. ^^)
