| Hey! So, some of you know that I'm student teaching at a middle school, and I just wanted to share some of the PGSM Sailor Moon spreading I did earlier today.
And thought that others might want to share similar sneakiness, if they have any experience in covertly spreading the PGSM love.
Today was career dress-up day as part of their spirit week. As the name implies, you dress up as the career you want to join later in life. Though obviously on the path to being a teacher and harboring a wish to become a planetarium director, I went a more creative route: I went as a Japanese Pop Idol.
Nice, classy flowy skirt and a loose, pretty pink top, adorable shoes... and my FFXIII Vanille wig (orange-pink pigtails). I got a lot of stares, threw around a few "Ohayo!" "Arigato" and "Hai!"s with liberal amounts of Engrish whenever someone asked what I was, chatted about different animes and mangas, and suddenly I had a ton of eighth graders asking about Japan and pop culture there. ... XD
During the last thirty minutes of the day (usually used for reading or math studies, but not today as it was an anti-Bullying day) I put on some Chieko Kawabe ("Candy Baby") and they asked for more. Where did I turn?
Crazy Super Pop Star Idol Aino Minako!
On youtube I looked up Kiss2Bang2 and the first video was a compilation of PGSM Minako images. I hit play and....
Every eye in the room was watching Minako / Sailor Venus XD Even minutes into the song when most people's attention had turned to coloring their Anti-Bullying pledges, I totally saw one girl totally enthralled in the amv, not looking incredulous or anything at the transformation scene. ... the guys liked the cartwheeling moves, of course, but afterward pretty much all of them said it was pretty cool. No one asked me what the series was called, but I think I saw someone scribbling 'Aino Minako' down onto a scrap of paper.

| Dude. You win at life.
Did you happen to snap a photo of yourself? I'd love to see your Idol get-up!
I've kind of been working on integrating my friend into the fandom. She's a huge SM fan but never watched this series. She recently moved into a new apartment so I've been helping her unpack on the grounds that we watch an episode or two of PGSM when we've done our share of work for the day. What's hilarious: she loves it. She made her boyfriend watch it. Her eight-year-old daughter watches it with her. But, somehow, she doesn't take the initiative to watch it on her own!! It's odd so I result to bribing her with free labor to watch it.
Oh, and then there's that drinking game I play!!!!
Must convert more people!! |

| I'd love to share a pic of my idol get-up, but I'll probably have to wait a few days. :/ Students took their picture with me, but I didn't get any myself, so I'm hoping that when they facebook friend request me I can get them to send me a pic. (( Today was my last day at the middle school, so I can accept student's friend requests. And now that facebook has those nifty filters for absolutely everything, I"m going to throw them all into a group and just ban that group from seeing stuff I don't want them to, mwahaha)) @Reiko - she might just want to watch it with people rather than alone. I'm that way a lot of the time -- if someone really likes something and wants to share it with me, I won't watch it unless they're there. ^^' Perhaps she's the same way, and the free labor is just icing on the odango-cake? |

| Wow, I'm still surprised you would add former students. That's cool you have that relationship. My friend whom I speak of is a teacher and she refuses to add students... except me because I was awesome, obviously. (she taught at my University... we bonded over Sailor Moon) But she puts everything on private and makes her unsearchable.
Anyways, I guess I'll see that pic sooner or later. I'm sure you look bamf. |

| Here's a pic of Idol Hirari-Dream! ((J/K, I used the 'dream' because Hirari - Kirari... yeah, I'm a dork. and I didn't actually refer to myself as that. ... the end.)) ((Also, sorry for the hover fingers. I was making a peace sign and didn't know it didn't fit in the phone screen ^^')) |

| Don't worry, I got the pun! You look adorable, by the way. Also, you wouldn't be a J-pop idol if you didn't throw up the deuces--it comes with the territory. |

| XD It's from my FFXIII Vanille cosplay. ... You wouldn't believe the number of kids asking if it were my real hair. ... My cooperating teacher hit one of them on the back of his head. "Are you an idiot?! Her hair isn't that long! She can't just grow it over night!"
... My cooperating teacher sometimes reminds me of anime teachers. |

| 'twas pretty boss. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, too. If only I had a school uniform...
...
Who says I can't?
Question: Would you be freaked out if your high school student teacher came to school wearing a high school sailor suit similar to those found in the Stars anime? .... o.o just a question. |

| I actually would...
It's funny you mention that. I know a girl who wore a sailor-style uniform to school once but it was for a psychology experiment. The experiment was to wear something that might be considered eccentric just to gauge the reaction of the students and faculty ^_^ |

| I think it would depend on the teacher. since i was into anime and if i found out said teacher was into anime too, i'd probably be all over that like white on rice. XD If i didn't know the teacher i'd be like "OMG CLOSET ANIME TEACHER FAN" XD |

| ^^' I'd probably just stick to wearing not-quite-unusual stuff to school. I just got a bit carried away yesterday - thinking back, I think I would've been a little uncomfortable, too. O.o |
