| Hmm...
I wasn't all that interested in the upcoming "Into the Future" EP, but now that I've seen screenshots from the recent live stream, I think I might be interested. I didn't end up buying "University Life" and "Island Paradise," but some of the contents of "Into the Future" interest me. Though it feels like there's a lot of cheaty game play elements as well... I'm going to wait until I learn more about the 'travelling back in time to alter events in the future' aspect. I didn't think I'd buy another Sims 3 EP, but I think I might get this one, especially if the Sims 4 previews don't impress me. |

| So I finally grabbed my Sims 3 disc from my parent's house. So far I've definitely spent a lot more time modding than I have actually playing - lol!
I believe that Gabrielazy's Sailor Moon sims have already beeen posted, but I found a few more goodies I thought I'd share:

| I hope it's not wrong to say, that I've played The Sims 3 without buying it(you know what I mean). I always go through the same phases, for some time I would be super excited for the game, I would create families, build houses, install expansions, and then it comes the next phase where I just get bored with the game and uninstall it, which I shouldn't do now that I have it again. Since I already know how it is, playing The Sims without expansions, I've been installing Late Night, Generations, Pets and soon I'll be installing University Life. In the past I've had Showtime and Supernatural, but they aren't what I expected. Also, as well as many other players, I sometimes kill Sims just for fun. There was this one time I planned to kill the entire neighborhood of Sunset Valley, but it's kind of frustrating because sometimes you'd want to electrocute them, or kill them on a fire and neither works, omg I sound like a serial killer. Right now I have three families, one of them lives in Sunset Valley. It started with a female Sim called Amanda Walker, then I had her marry Connor Frio, and now they had a child named Louis. I also created a male Sim called Kyle England who lives in Bridgeport whose lifetime wish is to become a rockstar. And last, I created myself (Blake Carter) along with three cats, hahaha. I haven't actually played with my simself, I spent a lot of time building the house and filling it with stuff. |

| So I decided to play The Sims 3 but I wanted to reminisce a little before I started. TS2 is my favorite in the series I wouldn't even bother playing TS3 if it wasn't for the fact that the ultimate collection for TS2 is windows only. Anyway, whenever I play the sims I make the same family. Yeah I'm talking about ever since The Sims 1. I make the same exact family. There have been name changes and personality tweaks but they're pretty much the same. This is the matriarch Araybia. I actually didn't add her in until TS2. She's named after me but I think I'm going to change it for TS3. The oldest child is Alexandra. She was originally named Cleopatra. (I guess I choose that name because she's artistic and smart?) The middle child - whose name has never changed and I guess is basically me - is Chastity. It's my middle name! The youngest is Serena. I'm embarrassed to say her original name. Look at that clippling! All the pics were taken during a vacation in the Bon Voyage EP. I think I might do a legacy challenge for TS3 or focus on telling more of a story. I've always had a story in my head for my sims but I never actually proceeded to play it out.

| I haven't played the sims since gen 1. I was 10-11 years old, and wanted there to be no adults, so I only had like 3 kids. My house was poorly built, and somehow the little things kept peeing themselves. then I accidently sped time up without knowing how I did it (I was 10, remember?) and all you could see is the three children running, doing the pee dance and peeing at the speed of light. There were pee puddles all over the floor, and all you could hear was screaming moaning and crying. I eveuntally found out how to slow the gameplay back down, but by that time one child died and the rest were starving and dirt poor since apparently every time you open the fridge to get cookies it costs $5. At that point, the fun ran out
I later erased the house, and rebuilt the family as the "Moon" family. I know the main daughter was named sailor (sailor moon, get it?) and there was a mom and a dad. Don't remember what I named them. Anyways, I had the magic world expansion, and was super upset as to how each character never lasted more then 15 minutes our time in there without starving, getting scared or needing to go to the bathroom and I could never explore the expansion world properly. Also, whenever a character died or went to military school, I would just re-load a save because I didn't want to lose them. Also took some kind of humor watching them shower, or more correctly trying to find the correct angle to view them without the pixles. In the end, my favorite family member no matter how many saves i re-loaded kept getting sent to military school never to be seen again and I gave up playing. |

Yeah that is the main problem with TS1 all the needs drop way too fast. I hadn't realized that until I played it again last year and it was a chore. Pretty much all they do is pee, eat, and sleep. It's really hard to keep up with friends or go out to other lots because they need to go back home soon after. :/

TS3 is by far my favorite, with TS2 right after. TS1 is classic, but yeah the needs drop fast (though I find TS2 does that too).
I love the look of TS4... and the multitasking UGH I love it.... but the fact that I'm a big family/generation playing really sucks. So many glitches and things missing that make it hard to play generations the way I like to. |

| I love the look of TS4 too! I wish some of the textures where a little better but other than that I think the game has a lot of potential if EA puts in the work. I really hope they patch in a family tree, fix the babies, and add in toddlers somehow. I'm not a big generational player but I still care about that and it sucks that they've altered and taken out so much stuff. Anyway, I just saw this beautiful sim at the Sims forum and it's making me want to play so badly! I really hope they hurry up release the mac version. ;v;. |

| TS4 has a lot of other issues, you listed the big ones. Like - there are a lot of 'homeless' random sims wandering about... that get deleted as soon as they leave that lot.... so you might go out and meet a ton of new friends, go home... and they don't exist anymore. Gets really annoying when trying to make friends. Its not even really a bug, its just poor programing.
I have gripes about TS3 too, but at least it has many many features that I love. TS4 is fun, and like I said I love the look of it, but I find I'm not playing any generations - just single adults. Then when I get bored of that character (which is pretty quick) I make a new game. I really love the sims in TS4 - they are the best looking base game sims yet (TS3 sims look good, if you have mods IMO) which is why I get sad when I get bored of my family/character so quickly. Its so much fun to create them! |

| I'm not a big generation player, because I always like to start things and never finish them, so I quite enjoy TS4, haha. Designing the people and my house are my favourite parts, and I find that I actually get time to play the game because you can make a house (that you like) in a far shorter amount of time.
I did not know about the "homeless" SIMs! I guess I don't pay enough attention to my SIM friends... haha.
Does anyone here make mods for any of the games? And is it easy to do? |

| Yeah luckily there isn't any friend requirements (that I've come across yet) in the careers.... otherwise the homeless sims issue would be even worse... right now its just sad seeing my single sims have to make a new friend every time their social meter gets low. And it SUCKS if you're trying to find a BF/GF/etc for your sim, as 80% of the people they might meet, will disappear. Not an issue if you wanna just make a bf/gf for your sim and place them in the world, but legacy challenges you have to marry a NPC/non controlled/non created sim... soo... I don't make mods, then again I've never tried. I'm so-so at coding (for fixing/downloading pirated games...) but I don't think I have the patiences for CREATING and TESTING mods... |

Cosmos-Hime, I think it depends what kind of game you like to play. I like creating people, and building houses. Then I might casually play with them for a while, get bored, and start again. So for me, it's great! But it seems like if you like the generation type deal, it's lacking. |

| What dreamsinpink said, it really depends how you play. Creating sims and homes is super fun... but I'm a legacy/generational/family player so its been meh for me because a lot of stuff that made that kind of gameplay super fun in TS2/TS3 is missing from TS4.
But the features that ARE there are pretty cool. I really love the multitasking thing, which makes is much more realistic. Sleep AND hygine motive low? SLEEP IN THE BATHTUB. Fun AND toilet motives low? PLAY ON YOUR PHONE ON THE TOILET. Sims can have dinner conversations, while watching TV with friends or family in the living room... stuff like that! Its pretty cool, and honestly my favorite part of TS4. |

| I was totally obsessed with The Sims when it first came out (as well as all the expansions and The Sims 2), and that started to wane a bit once 3 came out. I used to spend HOURS upon hours customizing my houses, all the way down to the windows, carpet, paintings on the wall, everything. I felt that once you get to TS3, everything just gets a LOT more complicated. I always ended up just moving my Sims into a pre-made (and furnished) house, and just changing or adding a few things.
In my opinion, 3 was better than 4, as you were able to DO more things. Go to college, watch a movie, go shopping... it was more interactive. |

| Yes, finally I found the topic. Now for my own Review on the The Sims 3: Supreme Collection. Ok so I made this up, it actually contains the Base Game and all EPs, excluding Stuff Packs, and Premium Store Content (Worlds, Venues, and Objects with additional gameplay functions).
The review will be determined within my Six Dimensions of Successful Simulations in this order: Autonomy, Gameplay, Customization, Character Development, Possibilities, and Stability.
The Autonomy of Sims in this game are rather monotonous, without manipulating the engine, Sims will rarely fulfill their goals and wishes, without player intervention. They'll usually do things based on what traits they utilize that make up their personality, including how they socialize with other Sims. If you're the kind of Simmer that wants to perform Wolfing Runs, you'll end up having your Sims doing what they can to survive and nothing more. This dimension's score is [***--].
Gameplay in the Sims 3 involves more Player Interaction to steer your Sim in the direction you want it in. Sometimes the Camera will not fully fixate itself to your sim. This usually results in having to constantly monitor your Sim, rendering Wolfing Runs useless without modding, but if you don't mind having your sim do things off camera, go nuts. This dimension goes home with a score of [***--].
Customization, whether this involves Create-a-Sim, Build/Buy, or using the Create-A-World and Create-A-Pattern tools provided by EA, is limitless in possibilities. Edit clothing patterns, wall and floor types, patterns of objects, all towards a reason of your own. While the style of build/buy is grid-locked by default, in comparison to The Sims 4, I'd rather build rooms in fixed dimensions to make furnishing and decoration easier, so is my preference having studied architecture in College, a la Autodesk Revit. This dimension scores [*****].
Character Development was a big focus in the Sims 3, story-telling was a something that had to be player-driven, and that's what the devs let them do! As you build the skills, careers, and even the Education of your Sims, your doing your part in creating a life story for your Sim. Because of this, the dimension achieves [*****].
As Character Development achieved greater flexibility, so did the Possibilities for such, you can now tell the story of your Sims in ways within the games bounds, in which there are hardly any! Unless you count your computer's physical memory. So this dimension scores [****-].
Sadly, this game like Sonic '06, was left glitchy with some room for improved memory management. Fortunately, mods like ErrorTrap by Nraas Industries was created to improve the longevity of game saves, before the content can go corrupt with stuck Sims. Many patches later to Version 1.67, Even with EPs, the extra content always left unintentional bugs, though claimed to be patched, some glitches still deter many players to this day. Since I'm fair, though this Dimension gets [**---].
Overall, this installment, with tons of features added by Expansions, will never make up for the poor handling of memory resources, glitches in gameplay, and coarsely-tuned autonomy, leaving the game somehow incomplete. Average score is [***--]. |
