Ok so this has been a thought of mine for a while now.

Growing up with Sailor Moon , dubbed of course, I grew up with Sailor Moon Says. Now i know some people's opinion on this subject, and they think it's corny. ( I do too from and adult point of view.) But i remember as a child loving it!

The idea i wanted to share was, I was considering becoming a guidance consular at some point in my life. I thought it would be awesome to show episodes , during my teaching to the students, and have them see also the Sailor Moon Says segments. I just really thing that the messages are good messages for little kids. I believe that some of the subjects she talks about are important for children to understand. I was just curious as to what people thought . :3

I'd love to give you a POV, but I grew up with the mexican dub, and such thing as SM Says didn't exist.
But if you say it really has good and educational messages for little kids, it would be nice from teachers to show some episodes to the children, the worst thing that could happen would be having a bigger Sailor Moon fandom!

Thanks! I remember one that always stuck out to me. I think it was the second episode titled "Slim City". It talked about how you should be healthy but not to over do it either.

Oh I completely agree with you Lizzy! The messages WERE good messages, even if they were totally corny. The reason those messages were in there are the exactly reason why you want to show them to kids. Also, the Slim City episode is by far the most powerful message in my opinion. I think it'd help with so many kids who are dealing with obesity right now.

The one that I remember the most is about air pollution. I really don't know why I remember it...maybe it's because my major is Environmental Health

I just totally remembered one. It was about spaying and neutering your pets hahahahah

@Yamichan16 hahahah i wonder if it persuaded you at a young age to be loving to our planet... that is a theme that comes up a lot in sailor moon. like at the end of the S movie.

Oh I definitely agree with you, Lizzy! As silly as I find them to be now, I remember as a child finding Serena's voice to be so heartwarming and encouraging as she gave her little segments at the end. I think it would be lovely to show little children and the messages are still very useful for today.

if they left the epasdioe where um? sammy (not sure if that's the dub name,) became possessed and kicked luna, the SM says could have talked about how animal abuse is bad.

I honestly think it just bought them a little extra time after cutting something out of an episode but honestly totally pointless...>.>

I think they were just trying to make the show a bit more educational, which i don't mind. Sailor Moon is a good role model for young kids.

I think it's a good idea to show Sailor Moon Says. I personally, as a kid, never really bought into the whole "moral" part of the show, because I already recognized that it was a show about love and justice, but I did appreciate what they were trying to do when it came to that segment and for the most part, it really helped with explaining to younger kids about the moral of the story.
