My friend's and my birthday is coming up at the end of this month and we were thinking of throwing a Sailor Moon themed food party! My dilemma is that I can really only think of sweet foods/desserts and I'd like a bit more variety. We're thinking about just sticking with the Inner Senshi so we have an overload of food, but if you have any Outer Senshi themed suggestions, don't hesitate to throw them out there!

Here's what I was thinking thus far...

Usagi: Meatballs and/or dumplings
Rei: Something spicy, chicken maybe?
Makoto: Rose-based food of some sort
Sailor Moon: Compact shaped cupcakes

Please let me know if you have any suggestions! ^ -^

Cookies in the shape of bunnies, an absolute must! Maybe rainbow cookies to represent the colors of all the inner senshi.

And curry, I think, because Usagi made curry for Chibi Usa. ^^

Mercury: Frozen or cold treats like fruit smoothies, soft serve ice cream, etc.
Uranus: Quick-preparation appetizer things.
Pluto: Slow cooked meat of your preference?

@Sailor Jupiter: I forgot about curry rice! I'll have to get some instant curry from the Japanese grocery store then. Hopefully I can make it as well as my mom (doubt it). @ -@

@Sailor Pluto: I was trying to think of some sort of drink or food that could incorporate bubbles (besides carbonated beverages) because of her Bubble Spray attack, but nothing really comes to mind, unfortunately.

I'm drawing a bit of a blank about the bubbles myself, XD, sorry.

Make something with fish for Neptune. Maybe make some homemade sushi or crab dip or something.

OOOOOH. This reminds me of 3 o'clock Fairy, a blog that is run by Sailor Failures of tumblr. He has a couple of Sailor Moon themed recipes on there that you may wnat to try (especially the cupcake ones). He doesn't update that often, but the recipes he has are soooo cute.

@Small Lady: I've seen 3 o'clock Fairy and I think the ideas are really cute! However, I'm trying to stay away from too manh sweets. Gotta keep my girlish figure intact (haha not really).

Girl it your bday. Eat all the sweets you want! XD also if you do the pancake idea you can easily substitute a low cal pancake recipe in. Honestly same goes for thing like the cupcakes and stuff. Also remember everything in moderation.

Ooo this sounds like fun! I tried to google something for you in terms of like a bubble drink but all that came up was bubble tea and I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

even if its not what you are looking for you should go get bubble tea. I love that stuff. <3

i was originally gonna do just Neptune...but then all of them asked to be done. XD so i gave my own interpretations. Moon is cake of course, cause she's sweet and irresistable and the life of the party! Chibi Moon is cotton candy cause of her hair...and mushrooms cause she's the Pink Spore!:p

rose tea or jam for jupiter cause of course roses. Soup for mercury cause it's watery right? orange sherbert for Venus...need i really explain this? Sushi or baked fish for Neptune....again,really? Duck for Uranus cause ducks can fly! XD Noodles for Pluto cause in china, noodles represent longevity. and Cherry Pie for Saturn cause cherries are a super healing fruit! so..yeah. that's my input.XD

Bubble tea is actually quite easy. Its basically milk tea (or thai tea, which is like a very sweet milk tea, but i forget what kind of black tea they use) and you get tapioca pearls. You're local asian grocery may carry some tapioca pearls, i bought some a while back and i think it may have been about $5 or $6 for the bag? You can easily make your own tea at home, i'm sure. Making the tapioca pearls is easy too, you basically just boil them.

OR if you have a smoothie shop that sells the Boba tea (another word for it), you can just go pick some up. xD Its generallly an asian run thing as its become popular over there.

Sooo good. And you can mix the tapioca pearls in really just about any drink, like smoothies or coffee drinks. i love them. <3

I haven't been to my local Asia-mart in awhile, since Mom usually does all the shopping while I'm at home for the summer. Do you know if they sell the special straws too? If not, we could always just spoon-straw it up.

I've actually seen those thick straws at the regular grocery store before. Thats where I got mine. But its usually where they hang random things in the isles. But i think they were ones for milkshakes and smoothies. They are actually really great to use even without the tapioca balls in your drinks. o.o
