Small Lady, Paprika and I have been talking about putting together a youtube video for the GC, possibly featuring different Senshi and such for the event.

Is anyone interested in contributing to this idea?

As in voice acting?

Making clips then editing them together. Here is one of my videos of an example of what we will be doing:



We will be making things like this (except MUCH shorter per person & SM related) and they will be all streamed together.

Its like an AMV participation project. I've seen these done several times. Some of the bigger ones make AMVs for the DDR Megamixes (which are an usually about an hour long). I've seem one done to 10 minute long version of Sandstorm for DBZ (which was pretty cool). And so on and so forth.

Anyway, I think we need to think about songs. Then that way we can break it down into parts for us to take. At that point, I think it should sorta be up to the AMV maker what they want to do, but maybe we should also try to make it so it features each senshi. I just would imagine it would get harder for characters like Pluto and Saturn (unless someone is extra creative and uses manga shots..).

Saturn and I have been talking through messages about the songs and such. We spoke about having a song theme for the project and since the amvs are Sailor Moon, we liked the idea of using Sailor Moon songs for the project. I mean, this will litterally give everyone a good list to pick from since there's so much to choose from. But, the songs would need to be cut down so that the entire project isn't huge. I was thinking a time limit max of 2 minutes per person. Since there is ten senshi (not including Tuxey), that would be a twenty minute video based on the 2 minute max limit.

I definitely think a list is needed of the senshi that we decide are going to be apart of this project so we can keep a running list of what character is still open, what characters are taken, and who is assigned to the character. ^^

Isn't the upload limit for youtube 10 minutes if you don't have like some super special advertisement account or something? 2 minutes might be kinda long. What if we brought it down to 1 minute to 1.5 minutes?

Also, I was thinking we were gunna do something with one song and we break the song up for the amv? Since that is it what was originally implied but since I was left out of y'alls discussion... >.> I seem to have missed some stuff.

You're absolutely correct. Youtube time limit is 10 minutes so if we were to do a 2 minute max video, the video would have to be broken up in parts. If it's 1 minute or 1.5, the video still would be at least 15 minutes long.

And I completely see your point with the breakup the one song idea and like it. If we do that though, what song would we use that would be long enough to do something like the project we're planning? The ones I've seen like that are techno or DDR party mix songs.

We could also do multiple songs. While I like using Sailor Moon songs, it'd be nice to pick out songs outside of Sailor Moon that have meaning for the characters. Hm...

I have an entire sailor Saturn/ mistress 9 video almost completed. I just have to pull out the corrupted video that is making it not want to upload. Perhaps I can add that on the side an add a happy one year from Saturn in the title? I made this weeks and weeks ago and never uploaded it.

I was thinking maybe the last part of the video would say Happy Anniversary GC? Or something?

Also to make it challenging, would anyone object to having to have the time frame from Sunday July 15th to Thursday July 19th to make their video? I was just thinking itd be fun to furiously work on it during the anniversary week. Though now that I'm thinking of it... if I'm running the stream constantly...that might not be a good idea for me.

While that would be fun, I don't think it may necessary be a good idea and also may get a lot of last minute/late submissions for the video. Once the videos are uploaded, someone still has to compile the amvs together. And plus...I like to mask XD Which is extremely time consuming (lol).

I think I actually am for the idea of branching out to more songs, especially if we do more than one song/track. I think it'll help people's creativity in creating the amvs and also get them into the mood of creating this project.

We still need to decide though if we are going to do a one track song or multiple songs with some sort of transition between the two...

Yeah, i'll adjust the timeline. I was thinking we could pick someone for people to send their videos to (Sizeablesend.com is a great site for that, i also have a rapidshare account).

First, here is a list of characters I think we should cover:

Usagi/Sailor Moon
Ami/Sailor Mercury
Rei/Sailor Mars
Makoto/Sailor Jupiter
Minako/Sailor Venus
Setsuna/Sailor Pluto
Michiru/Sailor Neptune
Haruka/Sailor Uranus
Hotaru/Sailor Saturn
Chibi-Usa/Sailor Chibi Moon

Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask
Luna, Artemis, and Diana (or if someone wishes, could do one on Luna, etc.)


That would be more than enough for this video if you ask me. If someone wishes to do something like a video dedicated to UsaigxMamo's relationship or ReixYuuichiro or something, thats fine too. We don't have to cover all characters either. And someone could choose multiple characters.


Second, we need a timeline of when we should have the videos in. I'd like to showcase the AMV towards the end of the anniversary week, maybe on Friday when the two big awards are given out. So maybe have all videos due by that Sunday the 15th? So the person who is putting it together has time to do it and upload.

Third, music. Multiple songs or one track?

Answer to First - Completely on the same page with you. Since these are the main characters, I think its a great list to use for the project.

Answer to Second - I think that's a pretty reachable goal for the deadline for both those creating AMVs and the person doing the "post-production". So I Sunday, July 15th is a good date.

Answer to Third - I'm still on the fence about this. I like the option to use multiple tracks but I think it would be best to have a "theme" selected if we were to do that (i.e.: DDR, Vocaloid, etc), but yet, the one track is very easy to do. It's just finding a song that would work with our time limit. So I'll wait to hear Saturn's feedback on this.

Ditto on the 3rd too. I'ma start going through music I have for any inspiration.

Kep in mind that some of us might need to go download episodes and convert tuem for our selected media player to make videos with. Same for songs.

These days songs shouldn't need much converting, most basic video making software should be able to read MP3s.

The video files might be another issue tho. I haven't had a chance to see how the files from SMC will work. I'm either going to use Adobe Premier to make the video or After Effects (though i know its not really meant for video editing >.>... but i don't really know premier that well i just have it).

I would love to participate in this but have no idea how to make a video for this unless it was of me lol. Are you sayIng take anime clips of each character and compile them together or pictures and then add a song to it?jw

Have you ever watch an anime music video before? Because basically its like that. But it doesn't have to necesssarily be fancy. Whatever your skillset is.

Yes I have and could it be directly dedicated to makoto with use of an midi or song within the one minute length?

Well, we are deciding on the music factor, but if you read a few posts above, I made a list of characters that we'd like to include in the video, so yes you could totally make one dedicated to Makoto.

We just haven't decided if we are going to use multiple songs and combine them or use one long song and split up amongst people to make their video.

You can make claims on her, but it might be a good idea to wait until we all decide on music. Its kinda hard to make a video with no music unless you don't actually care if your stuff fits the song or had planned on timing anything to the music.

Also if you have suggestion for music, please let us know. we are very open to suggestions right now.

If we combine video clips into a song, we need to make sure everyone has the same version of the song AND we their part needs to be perfectly matched. I woudlnt mind streaming all the videos together....

Moon revente would be an epic song.

Once we have chosen something, we could divide up the time of the song, so it would be like:

Person A has from 00:00 - 01:00
Person B has from 01:00 - 02:00

and so on... Then we just make sure to send everyone the same song so they all have the same file.

I've worked on projects similar to this so as long as everyone has the same file we're ok.

That sounds good to me small lady and as this idea progresses I'll know what approach to take.
