I was thinking about this as I was creating my first senshi. Don't laugh. She is no where near being finished and I'm having some troubles, but I need to know how old the SM world is. Is there anything out there dating it back to when it first came about? Do we know when the kingdom was formed or are we just to assume it is as old as earth its self is? Ideas on this?

^^ o think that's one of the mysteries of Sailor Moon. On the one hand, Queen Serenity semi-claims to he the moon goddess Selene by saying that's what the people of Earth called her; on the other, Nehelenia claimed that Queen Serenity isn't actually from the moon to begin with!

So you could take eitherroad and say it started several million hears ago, or you could say that Qiueen Serenity was the first queen and so only a couple thousand years old, depending on how old you think Princess Serenity was when she died. She appeared 14, but they could age slowly so she could be a couple hundred; based on queen Serenity visiting the galaxy cauldron not long before the princess was born, if you go the second path then the kingdom wasn't much older than she.

This is driving me insane. Like really. I hate it. Oh well. I'm gonna have to wing it.

For the sake of character creation fun and the fact that it's never elaborated on, I go with the idea that the Moon Kingdom is far older than it is assumed during the fall.

It is at least 5000 years old according to myu continuity.
