Last night the official Sailor Moon Twitter announced two additional Sailor Moon characters being released as Dollfie Dream, pose-able vinyl dolls approximately 60cm tall. Earlier this year they released a similar doll for Sailor Moon.

These dolls will be available for pre-sale on Sunday, December 16th at "Dolls Party 40" at Tokyo Big Sight and released starting Saturday, January 19th, 2019. There will likely be additional pre-sale or lotteries both via Volks International website and Volks USA, but that information has not been announced.

Juuban Middle School Uniform Set: 9,800円
T・A Girls Academy School Uniform Set: 8,800円

These are gorgeous-but they're roughly 500 USD each! Waaaaay too steep for my blood. XD

Oh! I like how they did the eyes on these two compared to the Moon one. I love that they also make the alternate outfits (even if they are sold separately >.>). Also, It's neat how different they are from the Pullips, eh? I wonder if they'll end up releasing all five inners?

These types of dolls are always expensive. They're very large (60cm is almost two feet), extremely detailed, and a lot of the elements like the painting of their faces/etc. is done by hand. These are actually less expensive than a lot of the other anime or game Dollfie Dream collaborations. Some of the more recent dolls have been nearly $1000! The price on the Sailor Moon dolls are closer to the price of the "Standard Models" for Dollfie Dream, which are usually in the 50,000円 range.

I think this is a pretty good sign that they're going to make Jupiter and Venus, unless for some reason sales are poor. (I doubt sales will be poor; Japanese doll collectors clearly still care about this series.)

Ball Jointed Dolls of Sailor Moon origin are extremely popular among collectors, even if they are modified forms of other BJD. The quality on the outfits is kind of blowing my mind at the minute. 

I am newly getting into BJD, but I will one day own these, lol.

60cm!!! I had remembered they were big but didn't remember how big x.x. No wonder they're able to make the clothes look so good!!!

These are so gorgeous! I think I actually like the Mercury and Mars moreso than the moon... Her hair always bothered me in official pictures, but iirc actually looked really good in pictures I saw from people who bought the product itself.

As much as I love them, I'm definitely not planning on getting one. While the price is reasonable for what you're getting, I have neither money nor room to display one . I'm definitely hoping for Jupiter and Venus releases, and if they released a Sailor V outfit.... well, I still wouldn't be able to get one, but I'd definitely be conflicted over it!

Ami's doll just has such cute hair though!

I'm so happy about these! I've seen all sorts of customs, but the clothing and wigs are spot-on. Good luck getting them someday!

Yep, it's much easier to do this on a 1/3rd scale doll instead of 1/6th or smaller. ;D But it's still impressive!

Volks is notorious for taking poor-quality pictures of their dolls; they almost always look better in person. Moon was a great example of this! Even if you know they're not right for you, you can at least enjoy other people's pictures. ;D

If they release a Venus I'm gonna be broke XD
