Ideas so far:
+Some weird thing happens between the worlds that causes them to blend together awkwardly. )So like a town in the "new" world would have elements from both worlds combined into one)
+Why this happened: Maybe some butthead tried to play god to create a utopia and messed up everything in the process. lol
+The isles could just appear out of nowhere, and be adjusted for that time period/jrpg things-lack of any technology, fighter/mage guilds ect ect. + Isles overlapping with Varennes.
+Cagney's house ends up where the cemetery (Thieves' Guild) is located
+Cuphead characters hanging out in different guilds

Character-specific ideas: Maybe our characters were the only ones unaffected by the world merge? Or among the few who weren't affected??? So they still remember how things used to be, and as a result, are seen as insane by those who were mashed together with some other entity? The mashup characters probably just see and remember the world how it currently is, so any talk of two separate worlds or something very wrong happening in the world overnight would make them roll their eyes?
+What if there are a few characters out there aside from Cat and Cagney that DO remember that things were normal-but they won't find them until waaay later? gotta have some build up, ya know.

Cat: Since Cat is one of the recruitable characters in RS2, I was thinking I'd start her in the RP under the assumption that she has already pledged loyalty to the Empire, so that she can be even more upset when everybody is suddenly against her again--Ooooh! Or if the Emperor decides to do something drastic. XD OMG. What if we have the Emperor gets tricked? XD XD XD
Btw, what kind of ruling is in Cuphead? Is it also empire/monarchy/dictatorship? We should make them have a weird system. XD Can one of the laws be "No Dashing on Rooftops?" There's a sign in RS2 that says that because some shopkeeper got tired of people running around on his roof, I guess?

Antagonist Ideas:
I love the idea of the bad guys working with them-though I can tell you right now the devil wouldn't be working with them if he knew the worlds were gonna be destroyed. If the world is literally erased, there's no way the dude can take souls! Some of the other antagonists though, and even some normal characters could easily be persuaded to go to this big bads side.
heck, we could make cuphead and mugman the ones who are tricked into thinking that cat and cagney are the bad guys trying to "disrupt the world" and whatnot. ((Or even some of the non-antagonistic "merged" people (omg can we just coin "the merged"? xD and have it refer to anybody who's like "derp everything is fine. fire burning in the BG") could start thinking that because of how adamant and questioning Cat and Cagney probably seem whenever they argue/talk with people.)
(Scientists- Lied to and possibly told they're the ones trying to disrupt the balance); Still think the termites would be on board. (They don't care about any worlds, so the idea of making people suffer just 'cuz would appeal to them.) Gonna also note that Kzinssie would prob easily be tricked too. (He could be told that he'll become so powerful that people will fear him.)

Merged government system: IMPERIAL DEMOCRACY         People vote, but it ultimately means nothing because those in power get to decide if they like the votes or not XD

Okay, so we still need to decide the following:
1. Which characters to play (as we will need to know which worlds so that we can come up with ideas for how they blended together) Cat and Cagney

2. Did we want to keep the setting to a specific town/region of the blended worlds? The Isles literally overlapped with ca. 1000 Varennes. Since the Isles aren't as big as the RS2 world map, we decided that beyond Varennes, the merged effect isn't as prevalent, but there are still an obvious and weird influence of 1930s animation Cuphead stuff scattered throughout the continent. All buildings/landmarks  in Varennes and the Isles are lol-merged.

3. Who is this individual who tried to create a utopia/whatever? Name/race/etc. And what led them to do it? We'd just need to know for background purposes for writing up the OOC atm. The only idea I have for them is that maybe they were philanthropist who traveled the world trying to do good? Or worlds And during their travels, they somehow discovered the existence of several previously unknown worlds which led them to some sort of epiphany idk.... XD

Big bad guy: Umbriel

+merged the worlds because he’s a sadistic jerk; this guys' just insane trying to fuse lands at random to see what sticks. he can undo it, but where's the fun in that? Everything is just one big game to the guy!
+finds pleasure in merging worlds to watch what kinds of weird stuff happens; has killed off many other worlds in the past with his experiments
+In the past, his experiments produced the following results:
(1) Worlds merged, but the two sides remembered everything about their separate worlds and immediately destroyed each other in war and confusion.
(2) Worlds merged, but the two sides teamed up to kill Umbriel. They were defeated.
(3)  Worlds merged, but imploded on each other because the worlds were unstable and unsuitable for combination.

However, in his most recent experiment something way different has happened and now he’s sitting back and enjoying the show:
+Worlds merged, and the inhabitants are amnesiac, acting like it’s always been this way! It's a near-perfect fusion! It's like the worlds were never apart ever!
+ A few of the inhabitants are like “OMG THIS IS NOT RIGHT!” ruining the illusion and ruining his great viewing pleasure
+He's watching Cat and Cagney-a very, VERY unlikely duo-trying to undo everything? Their partnership makes for good entertainment in comparison to the other worlds he destroyed
+This will be one of the only times he's interacted with his stupid deadly-on-a-cosmic-scale experiment. He's gonna trick people now because it's fun!
The destruction of the worlds is simply a side effect of merging universes? ((This will be mistaken by our heroes as the bad guys intentional doing))
+When interacting with his experiments, Umbriel targets those who "REMEMBER"--esp. those with political exp. or good interpersonal skills?--to make sure the word of the changes doesn't get out? Maybe the some of the world-specific antagonists have weird memories that align more with Umbriel's ambitions?

Fortune teller-type characters that could possibly be aware of the merge: Djimmi, Hilda Berge, Blind Specter, Magic 8 Ball Mangosteen, Orieve.  




4. Do we need a greater evil to conquer? Or would you rather this be more lulzy chill-hangout trying to figure out what happened and why? like it could start off all funny and light hearted and then as the plot moves, it gets super serious. like if they don't separate the worlds or something, something seriously bad is gonna happen
like both worlds getting erased out of existence, killing literally everyone
OR this third party managed to take the big bads of both games hostage and is using their powers to help fuel their motives? aka the BIGGEST bad to EVER BAD EVER! talk about edgy lol

5. How we wanted to start the RP. Did we want to start out with a "Good morning, worl--WTFFFFFF why is my house not my house, but still kinda my house? Where am I? Is this a dream? Aaaahhh!" freakout? Start off all funny and light-hearted and then as the plot moves, it gets super serious. like if they don't separate the worlds or something, something seriously bad is gonna happen...like both worlds getting erased out of existence, killing literally everyone

6. A catchy title. We need one so that we can start an OOC thread! Synthesis, merge, mix-up, mess, fusion, forgotten, connection, amalgam, utopia, Eden, Arcadia, combination, when two worlds collide,  
"mondes en collision," Synthesasia, Steel and Ink Synthesis Done!
