Lord Indigo

Indigo returned to the Main Hall as the lights went back on. It seemed that no one was missing. That was good.

He didn't really make much out of the clues the others began sharing. A ripped-up pillow, broken glass and a cut phone cord... It all confirmed that something was amiss, but they knew that already, so... Was he supposed to figure anything else out of all of this?

"I've found something that may help clear one of us here... But it's probably best not to share just yet," he shrugged. "If we hope to get anything done, we need to think. Is there anyone suspicious among us?"

He glanced at Mademoiselle Rose. "If you ask me, for example, the lady over there seems to be a bit too indifferent over such a situation..." For all he knew, this could be how she always acted - eccentricity was not an uncommon trait among wealthier individuals - but he hoped to get something started at the very least.

Princess Silver

The princess glanced up from her book.  This man's air of superiority was getting on her nerves.

Placing her eyes back on the text before her, she feigned offhandedness and asked languidly, "But what about you, Lord Indigo?  You're quite the calm customer yourself, you know, and you seem to think you know just what everyone should be doing.  But why should we trust you?  Maybe you are just trying to control us for your own ends.  You don't seem too keen on sharing, after all."

The princess did not usually get so heated, and really had no basis for this implication; but the stress of the situation combined with the haughtiness she perceived in Indigo pushed her to this statement.

Miss Sapphire

"Yes, that's what I was thinking. The murderer could be responsible for the broken glass as well." Sapphire said to the man in green who had approached her. She stared at the man who'd examined the stab wound a bit oddly when he jumped to accusing people, but realized she agreed with him about the pink haired woman who seemed to have no interest in what was happened. "Yeah, you've been pretty quiet this whole time. You might just be the quiet type, but you don't seem to really care about what's happened. But, you," she said turning to Lord Indigo, "You could be controlling us like Princess Silver here said. Maybe you're just trying to throw the blame on someone perfectly innocent so you get away with this."

Count Emerald


He approached the conversation between the three taking Lord Indigo's side. "Ladies, I disagree with your statement. He may be quiet and all but he's done much progress on resolving this case. The one who we should blame is..." Now was his chance to unmask her! "Madame Mauve! Just where she is? She hasn't come back yet. She could be hiding something from us."

Madame Mauve


Satisfied that the broken glass was, indeed, just a bottle, Madame Mauve entered the main hall to find that the entire group had assembled and was now arguing among themselves. Clearly, this group needed some strong leadership. "What is all of this tiresome bickering? Truly, you ought to be dreadfully ashamed. Finger pointing and blah-de-blahing when nobody knows anything about anything! Has a single one of you even found any clue at all?"

Mademoiselle Rose

She seemed utterly unruffled by Lord Indigo's accusation. Mademoiselle Rose merely offered a shrug.

"I only came because I heard this was supposed to be fun, and it's not," she replied, amid the other statements, Count Emerald and Madame Mauve now bickering. This was boring—utterly, dreadfully boring. No staff to take care of their needs, no games to play. She hated puzzles and never would have willingly opted in to one!

Count Emerald


As soon as he noticed Madame Mauve joining the conversation with such manners he turned towards her and he grabbed her hands and started speaking with a charming voice. "Listen, I know you want to argue but there's no time for this. I promise that I'll get you a drink when all of this is over." After this he suddenly turned back to his serious and boring self. "Now please do something useful for the investigation. Thanks." Then, he dropped her hands and turned his back to her to check his clock.

Madame Mauve


Madame instinctively pulled her hands away, scowling. Why, she didn't even know the man's name! "I must say, I have never been quite so disrespected! Well!" Her voice was becoming more shrill as she became increasingly annoyed. "This party is absolutely pooped! Not a single server in sight, a dead woman on the carpeting, strange men touching my hands! I've had just about enough!" She walked to the front door, and began yanking to open it.

Lord Indigo

"So I could," he validated the princess' statement to a degree. "But all this inaction would be far more beneficial to me than putting myself in the spotlight, no? But there are no guarantees, I suppose."

If anything, his attempt did get some reactions out of some of the casino's patrons. That could be useful, later on, even though it does not seem as if they made any progress for now.

The doors do not open for poor Madame Mauve. No matter how hard she yanks, or how much she messes with the locks, the doors do not budge.

As she attempts to open the door, the lights go out once more!

Mademoiselle Rose

As the lights went out, she searched for the one who had singled her out before: Lord Indigo.

"Shall we team up?" asked Mademoiselle Rose. "Or do you still think I'm to blame?" the girl pouted.

Lord Indigo

Not long after, the lights went back off. Great. If the doors won't budge, might as well keep searching...?

"Perhaps I do?" he asked rhetorically, though his tone was not harsh or accusatory. He was not sure about anyone, after all. "Well, I wouldn't mind keeping an eye on you, be it to keep you or the others safe, but there was someone else I wanted to consult..."

"Princess Silver, was it?" he turned his attention to the other woman. "I do appreciate your way of thinking. It is logical thought that I would try to muddle the waters... Perhaps we could figure something out if we worked together. Unless you're scared, of course," he shrugged.

Princess Silver

The princess was still annoyed by the Lord's prideful manner, but there was also something strangely attractive about it.  Besides, she was always flattered by compliments and was feeling somewhat ashamed of her prejudiced accusation.  The situation might have been something out of Pride and Prejudice... except for the murder.

Placing the book on a side table, she tried not to show these feelings - or that of fear, which had certainly never left her - and affected a haughtiness and disdain of her own.  

"As you wish my Lord Indigo," she said with a sarcastic curtsy and an impish glint in her eye, "I would be delighted to join wits with you - or match wits, whichever it may be. ... Nobody has investigated the Slots room yet, so shall we?"

Lord Indigo

Indigo smirked as the woman curtsied mockingly. He liked her style, if anything. "As the lady wishes," he teased back. "To the Slots."

Chancellor Crimson
Crimson stood there dumbly, watching people bicker back and forth. Everything was just too much for the poor guy, as he felt his hands begin to tremble. He shoved them into his pockets, hoping nobody had noticed. He was so focused on trying to calm himself down he only picked up the bare minimum of the conversations around him-glass? A ripped up pillow? And now the doors are completely locked? 
"Um-" He spoke quietly in an attempt to get some attention. Or not. Now they were starting to split up again. Crimson shuddered at the thought of possibly teaming up with Rose again-that was not an option. 
"I-I'll go with whoever wants me, I suppose." Crimson's voice was still fairly quiet. This certainly wasn't good for his health!

Mademoiselle Rose

Rejected! The young woman sulked sullenly. He had passed her over for some other girl, even after taking all that time to imply she was the trouble-maker here. They were supposed to look around again, but her options for a partner weren't all that enticing. No one here was interesting! If only the phones worked, she would have begged to be taken home right away.

Instead, she scanned the room, arms crossed over her chest, wondering if she could convince anyone to explore with her. This was going to be Lord Indigo's fault, for saying mean things about her.

Miss Sapphire

"Oh darn it!" Sapphire cried as the light went out again. If she knew anything about electricity she'd find the fuse box and try to stop the black outs, but alas, she did not. She was surprised and a little hurt when Princess Silver went off with Lord Indigo, but she then noticed an older man who's been standing there watching it all go down, looking nervous and saying he'd go with anyone. "I'll go with you!" she said, not really wanting to go with that pink haired lady Indigo had accused. "How about the pool room? I didn't quite catch your name. I'm Miss Sapphire by the way."

Madame Mauve


Madame Mauve huffed in indignation. The filthy thing won't budge! Locked in! The nerve! And then, poof, just like that, the lights were off again. "Honestly! Which of you barbarians is flipping light switches!" Well, one thing was for certain, she wasn't going to be caught with that atrocious man in green again. "You there!" she boomed into the dark, "The red one. With me, to the bedrooms. Perhaps we can jimmy open a window, for heavens sake."

Mademoiselle Rose

"Is anyone interested in Table Games?" she asked, much more deflated than before. Now she just wanted go to home! Mademoiselle Rose headed towards the Table Games room, not even thinking of the dangers of going alone in a place with such strange things happening.

Before anyone is able to get anywhere else, the lights come on with a crash!

A... crash?

As those still in the Main Hall look around from where the sound came from, they see a toppled bookcase has crushed Count Emerald, fallen books and shattered trinkets spilled around him. He is no longer moving!

And.. what's that? It looks like Lady Leeks was caught in the crossfire. From her position, it seems like the attack was not intended for her, but she was caught up in it any way. She is no longer moving as well...

Things seem more dire than ever.

Princess Silver

Silver rushed back into the hall at the crash.  She was astounded at what she saw.  Two more victims to this haunted casino.  At least one appeared to be an accident.  Were they innocents attacked by the murderer? Or criminals taken down by fate?  Regardless, something had to be done, and quickly.

She turned to the other five remaining guests with fear and anxiety in her voice.  "We have to do something!  I really have nothing to work with, though I was suspecting that the Count here was innocent.  Surely someone has a good lead?!?"

Truly, all she could have added was that, like Lord Indigo, she was surprised at the lack of action in the group, most of whom had stayed in the hall while the lights were out.  Rather than stand around waiting for a reply, she turned to the fallen bookcase to look for any evidence of the cause of its fall, or the culprit behind it.

Mademoiselle Rose

She jumped at the loud noise, whirling around, a flutter of pink chiffon and lace. Yet when her eyes fell on the gruesome scene, they still didn't quite seem to grasp the severity of the situation.

"Two more people, napping on the job," sighed Mademoiselle Rose. She hadn't even gotten to see the Table Games room before everyone was set to rush to the Main Hall! How dull.

She noticed that Princess Silver was busying herself around the scene of the accident, so Rose instead turned to observe anyone returning.

Lord Indigo

Even though the culprits did not take advantage of the darkness last time around, this time they made up for it with two victims, apparently.

As he made it back to the Main Hall with Princess Silver, he let her examine the scene while he observed the remaining casino's patrons. The lady in pink continued to act clueless as ever. Or she really was as clueless as she showed. Unfortunately, he had nothing conclusive on her yet. But she and Miss Mauve were higher on his list for the moment.

Or it could be because he just didn't like them. He figured just because they're intolerable doesn't mean they're guilty... But for now it was the best he had.

Princess Silver

"Nothing."  But it was obviously impossible for just one person to topple that bookcase.  So... the princess shuddered.  Were two out of the other five in that room murderers?  Something must be done - but she still had nothing to go on.  She wrinkled her forehead in frustration.

Lord Indigo

Nothing she said. This was leading them nowhere. Lord Indigo decided to investigate around the Main Hall a little bit longer. Perhaps they could find something useful. Maybe the culprits hid something relevant here... Or something to help them restrain whoever they suspect, since straight up knocking them out would be drastic. Rope, scotch tape,, anything!

Or they might find something that could help them out if the lights go out again? A candle? A flashlight? There has to be something useful in here!

Princess Silver

The inactivity amid the tension was just too much for the princess at this point.  "Mademoiselle Rose, you really seem too indifferent to this situation to be in the clear.  I don't have anything concrete to point to, but... what do you have to say for yourself?  If you're behind this ruined party, I'll punish you!"

Mademoiselle Rose

Now the other person was accusing her! Tears welled up in her eyes.

"I hate this and I want to go home!" Mademoiselle Rose whined, sniffling between her words. "I never would have come to this stupid Casino if I knew it would be this boring!"
