I was reading this article, honestly expecting something else from the title when I came on this passage:

I had to do a double take!! Did I seriously miss this when I watched it?!? Did anyone else notice this? What do you guys think? It's 4 years after the end of the main plot... I wonder if it has to do with Usagi's age?

Oh that's a theory Ive known about every since watching the wedding act. XD It is mighty suspicious that they have her showing signs of morning sickness throughout the special and that shopping montage as well. If she's 14/15 at the end of PGSM, then that'd put her at 18/19 for her wedding, which might seem kind of young but I know in Japan there's that thing where if girls wait too long they are considered "too old" for marriage and its something silly like 28! So I think young couples aren't out of the ordinary as well as younger women having children. Where as here some of us might think she's too young for children. Buuut you know...thinking on it, she is about around the same age in the manga/anime for her timing of giving birthday to Chibiusa so...maybe thats why they put that in there? :O

I think it's a nod to the end of the manga. (I think Usagi's comment about feeling a new star born inside of her is implying that she's already pregnant with Chibi Usa.) Pregnancy is often a cause for marriage, rather than only the result of marriage, in Japan. It does sound quite young, but I think that young motherhood gets romanticized in fiction fairly often. Despite her immaturity when the character is first introduced, she does have goals that are related to forming a family, so it doesn't seem to be a stretch (to me) that Usagi would choose to have a child as soon as she was out of compulsory education. Thankfully she seems to have a stable relationship and winds up ruling the world and all that. ^_~

Tbh, I envy her then *sigh*. Having my daughter when I was 20 would've been kinda nice for me.

I always figured that Usagi was pregnant when I saw the special. It was kinda surprising to me, but I just kinda rolled with it XD
