The movie officially got announced during tonight's Moonlight Party! It's set to premiere in movie theaters and tickets will be on sale sometime soon. It was also announced that the voice actor for Fiore will be the same guy who dubs Umino.

YASS! Several of us were freaking out at the Moonlight Party and in the GC discord channel last night. I'm soooo excited for it. The R movie is my favorite and I really hope it will be in a theater near me!

I wonder if they recorded a new version of Moon Revenge?  They had to right?  Surely they secured the rights.  Because I just can't imagine that scene with any other music... When the original dub used Power of Love there it just left me flat.  Don't get me wrong I like the song and think it worked really well in the original series almost as well as La Soldier but here in the movie something about it just didn't work for me as well because Moon Revenge is the R Movie to me.

So far I've watched the first season of hte Viz dub and they've kept the original japanese insert songs, for example in the final episode they kept Moonlight Densetsu (Japanese, not an english cover) and You are My Love (again in Japanese) with no subs for the songs (I'm watching on Hulu, so there might be subs on the BL-RY/DVDs). I'm assuming it will be the same for the movie.

As long as my schedule allows, I'm going to see this when it comes to theatres. I don't really care about the dub, but I think it will be fun to see this movie in a theatre setting. ♥

The second I saw the trailer I asked Tyler if he would go with me. He said sure, and then the next day he said Hey! What's Sailor Moon R? There's some kind of movie? XD and I had to explain it was the movie we're going to see lololol. I am so hype for thissss. I will drive to Miami if I have toooo.

Neither of the two theaters nearby that were supposed to get it were able to. Something went wrong in shipment or something. -.-; Supposedly there's hope if my in-laws drive to Atlanta to see it, because they might take us, but I doubt it.

Has anyone seen it yet? Was it good? Also, how long will it stay in theaters? It seems like anime movies don't last long in theaters.

I saw it! I enjoyed it, even though I can't say I plan to purchase a the new dubbed version. It was fun to see it in theatres on the big screen. My theatre showed the new English dub. I would have preferred it in the original Japanese, but I love it enough to enjoy it either way. ♥ (There were a few lines that, although now more true to the original script, sound really silly in English... There were some waves of giggles in the theatre.)

Prior to the movie they aired a recorded Q&A session with the main voice actors and actress for Mamoru, Fiore, and Sailor Moon. I wish they had shown this at the end. They mentioned that they wouldn't cover spoilers, but in my opinion they do mention one or two things that give away the plot.

Seeing the short that accompanied it (Make Up! Sailor Guardians) was a ton of fun, as I'd never seen it before.

Remember that the animation for this is pretty old. Seeing it on a theatre screen amplifies some of the stranger art choices or errors. The CGI in particular shows its age. I wasn't surprised by it, but people seeing it for the first time might be disappointed or critical.

It's hard to tell how long it will stay in theatres. Seems to depend on how long the interest and profit last.

I thought it was only going to be like one of those one day event type deals? Like the Fathom Events?  Either way, it didn't get to any theaters near me so I missed out. :/

It initially was a one-day deal for many theatres. Due to demand, more times and dates were added to the schedule.

This was particularly true in my area: it was set to play in one theatre for one showtime. On the day of, suddenly there were 4 showtimes. Which turned into over an entire week of multiple showtimes per day. And now it's playing in another theatre within my city for some additional dates and showtimes.

Lucky! I went back to check to see if they added anything for Louisiana. And they did end up adding a theater about an hour away from me but it was just on two dates that I've now missed.

All I'm hearing is that I most likely have no hope of seeing it... -.-;

Oh well. I can still get it when it comes out to DVD I guess.

It was so good!  I got over the annoying new dub voices.
