WHAT WE DOIN FOR HALLOWEEN NERDS??

According to what Queenie told me, this years Halloween event will be really small, and nothing particularly is planned so far.

So we're apparently clueless lol but well, I'd rather talk to the Admin Team first before planning something bigger :3.

We'll get on it soon! Need to situate out the Diana role before we work on it.

Ahh I gotcha. Ooh, yeah I understand, since Diana pretty much headed the party planning. Let me know if I can do anything to help!

I think we should have a drawing contest in the Arts & Graphics Guild ^^ Just a idea ^^

We should also hold another Masquerade Ball, but Halloween version! Also, it'd be cool if we could have an open RP where the members RP as themselves. It would be an Escape the Night-esq theme. We create a mini sub board where there are a few topics that portrays a mansion, and like everytime someone gets killed off the board disappears for them. The last few remaining gets something special like a siggy award or a stamp or something. Just an idea ^^

Wonderful idea !

I'm afraid this year we are going to keep things a bit simple, the idea is pretty cool though! 

In the next 5 days we'll have some new mods and a new Activities Director so we'll have some more information on what's going to happen with this year's event. But with all the changes, the staff are a bit busy and worn down from covering spots and such while we find jobs so that's why we'll probably have a smaller event.


But don't worry, December is ALWAYS a fun month and we'll have to get started soon!

This really sounds like a fun idea, and I've got some thoughts for it. We could combine A Minigame that is played during Survivor with the Masquerade Ball and the Murder Mystery Game Jupi did for the Anni and a bit of Mafia Gameplay:

• Players sign up as Sailor Moon Characters, nobody knows who is who
  
• The 'Board' is seperated into several Rooms as NKH mentioned.
  
• At first, Players are divided equally onto the several rooms / get a room they're in as the event starts
  
• The Game is divided into two Phases: A Discussion Phase where they can talk to other players and get some allies and a Action Phase where they can choose to murder/protect/sabotage someone
  
• Murdering a player would take him out off the game
  
• Protecting a player would make that target immune to one murder attempt that night. (2 Protects on one target protect from 2 and so on)
  
• Sabotaging makes the targets action fail, not working on other sabotages
  
• Actions can only be performed on targets in the same room
  
• People can choose to switch rooms, but only once per Phase to prevent room hopping.
  
• Switching rooms during the Action Phase counts as an action, therefore players switching can't perform any other actions
  
• Murder Attempts still work on targets who want to switch rooms, to prevent people from just running through the mansion to not get killed
  
• (Discussion Phase could have small games like Quizzes, giving the winner benefits, like killing in the whole mansion etc)
  
• The last Player(s) alive win the Game
  

This is just a basic concept and it still needs some work, but I curious what people think about it! I should be able to organize it, but if anyone wants to help: Let me know! ^___^ But for the RP Elements I'd request some help from the RP Section.

So Kai came to me about the murder mystery idea and we've decided to post that here for paper trail ^^

Second!! Timing @.@ from experience, getting these games set up behind-the-scenes takes a chunk of time. Since this has a lot of similar elements to my Clue game, I'd be willing to let you and your co-organizer use those rules to help make yours, but I'm just warning that getting everything lined up and figured out takes time to do; even just writing out the game play elements and deciding on the best way to present them can take hours to write and vet. ((Clue Gameplay Rules -example))

Secondly-second, if it's for the Halloween event, with this year's Halloween event timeline being relatively short, I do not think a game of this type can be completed within the window for the event. The Masquerade event had timing issues - timing issues that can definitely be improved upon - but even with that, it took 3 full weeks and still did not complete. Prior to that, previous Clue games that I ran ((it's a mixture of mafia and the boardgame Clue, with one murdurer and everyone looking for clues to the mystery and helpful items)) took a week and a half solid; even Casual RP Events can struggle to conclude within a two week time period. Including RP elements intrinsically increases the completion time, so I am not confident that a game like this that includes RP elements can be completed during the Halloween event window x.x

and Third! x.x if this is for Halloween, being of this size and nature of the event, it wouldn't fit NQS's "keep it a bit simple"


HOWEVER, if you were open to hosting it another month ((XD let's say one without an HC event (as that event is also eating a lot of the more active player's free time, and with Halloween at the end of the month it lines up with the event's finale, which often means a lot of posting in there so their characters don't die so potentially low activity during that timeframe))) I think it could be really successful; we could co-host it as an official RP Game to take the place of the HC event that month and throw more resources into it

TLDR: it'd be a little too big of a project/game for a 'keep it simple' halloween xD
