I know the World Fair is meant to be a yearly thing, but I was curious how many of you would prefer to have it at different times and not always the same month of each year. I feel like maybe it gets a bit boring because there's only so much you can say about where you're from that you haven't said before or that someone else hasn't mentioned yet xD But I know we do get new members, and for them it could be new and exciting, so! I thought I'd ask you guys, as the ones who would help host it, what you think about the World Fair! Do you love it? Do you wish it wasn't a yearly event? Are you bored of it? Tell me your thoughts!

Worlds Fair, but what about with the option to do regions of different time periods, too? So, I could choose England of 1600s and Brit could choose England of 1900s.

I personally really like the concept of the World Fair, but then again I haven't ever hosted it before so I'm not sure what to say about the "repetitive information" part. XD I didn't really think that it was repetitive, though I guess I could see where it might be: the general facts (e.g. capital, geographical location) would always be the same unless some major event happened right this second. lol Perhaps even the statistics. To reduce the repetition of such facts maybe people could do a comparison report from the previous year(s)? XD I personally find it interesting to see how things (e.g. crime rates, population, economy) change for a country/state in a year. People could always highlight an annual event or holiday? I don't know. XD I'd need to know which countries and/or states are being represented to start throwing out random topic ideas. For example, if I did a section on Croatia, I might try to appeal to our general nerdiness / age range by doing a "Croatian influence on Pop Culture"(?) topic and then use some TV shows, anime, etc. as examples. XD

As for "boring," were you mostly referring to the accompanying forum activities for members to collect world stamps?

There's so much world history I feel that it's not going to be possible for us to run out. Even just today Sailor Venus and I were chatting and we thought up a new topic that could be something to put into the world fair. For example I was looking forward to doing some art history threads since that's not something we've really had. I really enjoy it and like seeing it yearly.

I like the idea of doing a different kind of World Fair. The one that we normally do, and that I was referencing to, party planner members make threads that talk about the country they are from. What I meant by 'could get boring' is that over the years, hearing about the same places over and over again could be a bit bleh. However, I think allowing people to sign up for a country or era (like Luna said) to research and present to the forum, would be cool! Like I'd like to do something about steampunk culture, I love steampunk stuff xD There'd have to be a disclaimer about the information maybe not being 100% true due to the fact that the person doesn't live there, but I think it would breathe some life into the event and make it more fun!
