I just finished reading the manga today and I totally ship Ace and Venus now. It would of been nice if he was there from beginning that way their relationship would have expanded a bit more. Also now that I ship them I wish the manga ended a bit differently. So does any one else ship them?

I want to ship them, but I see him as a way of making her realize what her true destiny is in life and how doesn't need a "man" to be happy. There's a lot of awesome character development right there in that final chapter of the Sailor V manga that I would love to see expanded upon.

I think i"d love to read some fanfiction about them in their past lives though. It'd totally be a love triangle because then you can throw in Kunzite as Venus's possible love interest.

LOL I know he proved to her she doesn't need a man, but I love going against canon Most of time when I read/ watch a series I tend go against canon if I don't agree with it. Usually has to deal with parings.

Well I personally love the view of girls being strong for themselves and as much as I love pairings, I don't want the strength and development of a character get diminished just because you felt like they should have been with someone. IMO, it would just ruin a lot of why I like the SM manga in general. Now, if possibly I could see some good fanfiction on it, then I might consider swaying. ^^

Oh, I love how the girls were strong and independent. I just think noncanon shipping is fun that's all. I guess I should have worded my previously comment differently. Also I guess I should have said this instead: It peeved me that Ace basically said she's doom to find her true love. It just would have been nice to see that there could of have been a possibility to see them together. Then down the road Venus could have made decision herself. I guess she did make her decision in the manga, but I felt it was too quick.

I do, in all honesty, ship Vbabe with Ace sometimes. I have to agree with Yamichan in that it would've been better to word it as a possibility, not a foregone conclusion that she would never have love (in terms of romantic/'added' family). That is a rather bleak prospect, even if you have the sisterly love for Serenity.

Yeah, but keep in mind he was evil and about to die and pissed that she would never love him back so he was probably saying it out of spite.

It seemed to me, when I read it, that Ace had a case of Mamo-chan's hypnotism going. And that he had snapped out of it right before death. But, maybe I misunderstood it. Thoughts?

I'd have to reread it. Cause it could very well be that. ^^;

Well I could argue that while she did have "affection" for him, she'd never truely love him. I think with or without Serenity. She was very flighty in her "loves". She never really knew or felt a true love (remember the on going "first true love count" gag?). I think part of that is her sense of duty and part of her being flighty about it is the want to be a normal girl while knowing she never can be, but thats my take on it.

While that is indeed true, I think part of it is trying too hard to be "normal". If she took a step back, I think that her "first love" gag would slow down. She kind of goes from one guy to the next without pause because she seems to think if she meets enough, she just might meet 'the one'. But she never gives them enough time. ^_^"

Even so, though, Ace and Kunzite are my favorites when it comes to her.

I agree with Sailor Pluto. She needed calm down a bit and maybe she could have found the one. In my opinion I think all the senshi can love Serenity and find some one romantically. I mean look at Sailor Neptune and Uranus. They're lovers and they still love Serenity.

This is the part where I enjoyed seeing some interaction between her and a guy. It's also the only part where we truly see Minako have affection for a guy. And I think this ''impossible'' love thing is all so romantic. It's hard not to ship them after all

Kunzite x Venus will always be my favorite, but for Sailor V wise, I think Ace and her should have been a more in depth relationship instead of like 2 or 3 chapters worth :/

Totally agreed. It would be neat for them grow together.

I do!  They are such a lovely couple.   I think there was this guy they introduced in the 90s anime that could have been Ace's anime counterpart but alas, he fell for Minako's BEST FRIEND(the betrayer).  This was during Mina's time in London(I think).

I agree that instead of making them a canon pairing, some further exploration of their stories would have been great. Of course, there's always fanfic potential.

@JoJia Mystie: The thing is, look at all the canon couples. We have the main, Serenity x Endymion; then Luna x Artemis, Uranus x Naptune, and Small Lady x Helios. See a theme going on here? They're all characters with powers on the same team. Notice also how Neo Queen Serenity had to move on and completely separate from the family she knew. Add to the fact that there are some seriously insanely powerful enemies constantly bombarding Sailor Moon/ Serenity for her Silver Crystal and her power. It's simply not safe to have outside romances, and the pickings from the "inside" are quite slim.
