Character Name: Peridoto ペリドット ("human" alias: Kurotsuki Kanran 黒月カンラン)
Her name is Spanish for the gemstone "Peridot." She sometimes uses an alias—the surname of which nods to her membership in the Black Moon Clan. It uses the character for black "黒" and the character for moon "月". Her false first name is part of the Japanese word for the gemstone Peridot, カンラン石.

Age and Date of Birth: Appears to be in her mid-to-late twenties. Claims her birth date is "sometime in August".

Used Canons: This character is not a canon character, but is designed to fit into the manga, 90s anime, musical, or Crystal universes. She is intended to be a lesser member of the established canon second villain group, the Black Moon Clan.

Appearance: Peridoto is rather tall, standing at 175cm (approximately 5'9"). She has a very shapely figure, with a large bust and round bottom. Her skin is a rich peach hue with olive undertones. She likes wearing heeled shoes that make her stand even taller than her already-significant height. It adds to her already-intimidating presence.

Her overall colour theme fits her gemstone inspiration. Her hues are yellowish-green, unlike the bluer or non-tinted greens of Esmeraude or Petz.

She has bright peridot-green eyes that are narrow and calculating rather than wide and innocent. Peridoto often accentuates them with dark gray eyeshadow and plenty of eyeliner. She wears lipstick in the same shade of green as her eyes, topped with a liberal application of gloss for plenty of shine. In the center of her forehead is the black upside-down crescent moon mark of the Black Moon Clan. As a similar indication of her affiliation, she wears a pair of Black Crystal earrings, one dangling from each earlobe. They are the standard design: the extended and angular black Black Crystal drop hanging from a gold fleur-de-lis and stud.

Her hair is a slightly darker shade of yellowish-green than her eyes. It is pulled up into a rather thin high ponytail with curling strands, topped with a large round bun at the center of her head. The ponytail itself leans to the left, with the very ends often falling over her left shoulder. A short curl of hair falls into a wide open loop just in front of each ear. Her bangs are center-parted, curling away from the black crescent on her forehead, and flipping upwards at the ends.

Peridoto's typical outfit consists of a long-sleeved bright olive green crop top that is squared at the shoulders and follows a sweetheart neckline over her full bust. A ribbon of paler yellow green edges the top, ending just below her bosom around her rib cage, forming a slight peak between her breasts. A semi-transparent sleeveless bodysuit is worn under this top, the top curves of the sheer bodice peeking out between the bra-like cups of her top. On her hands she wears wrist-length lighter yellow green finger-less gloves, showing off her long fingernails painted with peridot-green polish. Around each wrist is a darker olive green ribbed cuff edged with round gemstones of her namesake on the upper and lower edge. She wears a choker-style necklace with similar gemstone beads—alternating between medium and slightly smaller beads, with a larger round bead hanging down at the center and medium-sized beads (also hanging down) spaced around the sides and back.

Peridoto wears a pair of darker olive green velvet short-shorts with a deep v-shaped waist, modesty preserved by a pale yellow green triangular insert. On her legs are thigh-high sheer stockings of the same hue as her sheer bodysuit, held up with olive green garters and ribbons criss-crossed at the top of her thighs. In the triangular peak of each stocking is centered a small black upside-down crescent moon. Her footwear consists of lace-up high-heeled boots ending just below the knee, made of dark olive green leather. The laces are pale yellow-green, with the cord laced through a medium-sized round peridot bead at each intersection between the grommets. At the top the laces are knotted and pulled through a larger round peridot bead, leaving very short tails.

When she is pretending to be a human she dresses in flashy styles that show off her body. She likes short pants and skirts, close fits, stretchy fabric, low necklines, and unreasonably high heels. "Kanran" typically looks like she might be headed out to a night club to dance, drink, and pick up guys.



Personality: Peridoto is a strong-willed woman who reaches towards her goals. She hates being told "no" or "you can't" and never backs down from a challenge to prove herself. She is used to being second to the leaders of the Black Moon Clan and hates being less than first. Peridoto is loyal to the cause, but she would strive for any opportunity to be promoted into the ranks of Rubeus, Esmeraude, and Saphir. She is confident that she could do just as good of a job as they can, if not better. She works very hard in hopes that her efforts will be noted positively and her rank will increase.

She believes that her way is usually right; anyone who contradicts her isn't on her side. She has an immediate bias towards anyone that might be against her. Peridoto considers those who aren't her friends to be her enemies, treating them with hostility. That's not to say that she can't be persuaded to follow someone else's plans or goals, but the method of approach is very important. Resistance is not met well by Peridoto.

She can be abrasive towards others, even within the Black Moon Clan. Peridoto is energetic and driven. She doesn't have patience for laziness, excessive caution, or passivity. She holds everyone else to the same high standards that she expects from herself, judging harshly those who operate differently. "Different" is generally "wrong" as far as she is concerned. She angers easily, offended by slight actions from others. Not only does she lash out, she holds a grudge. Eons will pass before Peridoto will offer forgiveness to someone who doesn't apologize first—and even then, it needs to be one heck of a sincere apology. Mere lip service won't change Peridoto's mind about someone.

Peridoto is self-confident to the point of egotistical and self-centered. She has a very high opinion of herself: her looks, her actions, her thoughts, her ideology—these are all probably better than whatever someone else is like. She craves attention, whether it's received because of her pretty face and beautiful body or due to her hard-working dedication. She likes to toy with others who are physically attracted to her, knowing that she can string them along and enjoy the ego boost of their infatuation. She is not actually interested in a romantic relationship.

Failure is crushing to Peridoto. She hates to admit it and will lie about it at any cost. She can't stand to look like a fool in front of others. She knows that she is the best; everyone else should only see how great she is. She has no moral qualms about covering up anything she's done wrong, trying to blame mistakes on someone else, or taking credit for success that isn't due to her. She will do whatever it takes to keep up appearances. If it came down to it, she'd go out in a blaze of glory, dying for her mission, if that was her only option for succeeding.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Peridoto does not have a leadership role in the Black Moon Clan, because she is not a precious gemstone. As a semi-precious stone, she is somewhat above the power level of the Four Ayakashi Sisters, but she does not correlate in power or affiliation with any of the sailor soldiers. She officially reports to Esmeraude.

Like other Black Moon Clan members, she can teleport and hover in mid-air.

Her magical powers are based around acid. She can create caustic and corrosive liquid and damage, tainted with darkness.

Peridoto has been provided by Esmeraude (courtesy of Saphir) with fragments of Black Crystal that she can use with Dark Power to replace humans with Droids. This Dark Power can also infect humans and make them very weak and sick. It is not strong enough to corrupt Crystal Points.

• Dark Acid - This is her primary attack. She conjures swirling yellow-green liquid and splashes it on her target(s). This powerful acid causes corrosion and injury. It blisters flesh, causes chemical burns, and eats through metal.
• Dark Power - Peridoto can use fragments of the Black Crystal to drain energy from humans and replace them with Droids.

History: When the Black Moon Clan rose to power in the 30th century, Peridoto was one of the many who joined the rebel cause against Neo Queen Serenity. She believes in Prince Demand's proclamations against the unnatural longevity of the White Moon people and the incredible power that the new queen wields over her subjects. No one should have that kind of power. No one should be that kind of ruler. That isn't the world Peridoto wants to live in.

She does not remember her earlier years prior to joining the group. Whatever life she lived before the one she knows on Nemesis is unimportant. She started in the lower ranks of the family (whether or not she is actually related to them, they are now her family by choice), but her devotion to missions and willingness to work hard allowed her to be promoted quickly. When the Black Moon Clan put their plan in place to change the 30th century by time-traveling to the 20th century, Peridoto was among the volunteers to assist. She was chosen to accompany the group due to her excellent past performance.

Peridoto has never been granted an audience with Prince Demand, as she is not in the upper echelon of the group. In the 20th century, she takes her instructions from Esmeraude and receives materials from Saphir. Due to this mission she has briefly interacted with Rubeus and may have seen the Four Ayakashi Sisters, but does not know them well. Peridoto finds herself used in a support capacity for other missions to spread the Black Moon Clan power in the 20th century.

Other Noteworthy Facts: Peridoto may die in the 20th century or be healed, depending on whether a storyline follows the general flow of the manga or 90s anime. She does not have to interact with Sailor Moon and the rest of the team (she could be conveniently placed elsewhere on the map to avoid their fights), but she could if a storyline provided for it.

RP Sample: The shards of Black Crystal were weighty in her gloved palm, although they looked so small. Much smaller than the pendants dangling from her earrings, at least. She could feel a slight surge of power from them, prickling like static electricity. These were the mysterious things that Saphir created, channeling the energy of their planet, Nemesis. They would allow her to participate in their great plan to save the 30th century from the horrors of Neo Queen Serenity.

She remembered the instructions from Esmeraude as Peridoto knelt at the woman's feet, receiving her mission briefing.

"Take care of the humans north and west of our central location," the green-haired woman said, waving her feathered fan. "Stop them from interfering."

The map indicated that her first stop would be a train station, a rather busy one at that. Peridoto knew that she was sure to find plenty of humans here, rushing from one useless place to the next. They were like silly animals scurrying around in the dark, unable to do anything of value. At least she could put them to some purpose—take their energy and replace their forms with Droids. The more Droids, the more power and influence the Black Moon Clan could exert in this area.

She closed her fingers around the Black Crystal shards, nodding. She would show the others just how successful a mission could be.
