Appearance: At 5'6'' Makoto is taller than most her age. She has green eyes and wavy brown hair that is usually tied up in a ponytail with bangs and a few loose strands hanging down. She wears a pair of rose earrings. Makoto wears ear tones, usually tans or greens. Her school uniform was brown but when out of school she often wears tan pants and a dark green sweater or some other earthy combination. She is rarely seen in frilly dresses except for formal events, but she does secretly enjoy wearing them. Typically though she dresses in comfortable and utilitariean slacks and a shirt.
Personality: Makoto is strong willed. Her parents died in a car crash when she was little and she found a way to live on her own and take care of herself. That takes a certain strangth of will. She may be tall and strong but she posesses a gentle heart that loves flowers and nature. She is brave and willing to stick up for someone who is being misused even if it will count against her. She has been expelled from quite a few schools for getting involved in a fight to protect someone who was being bullied.

Despite her intimidating looks and the way she dresses, Makoto has a very feminine side. You can see it in little things like her rose earrings, or how neatly she packs her lunch. She appreciates beauty and takes the time to do things carefully and neatly. She is kind, friendly, and outgoing on the outside, but carries a deep lonliness and shyness on the inside. Living alone all these years with her school classmates frightened of her has taken its toll. Also she hides her feminine side partly because it is the real her and she fears rejection through showing so much of herself. Things improved quite a bit when she moved to Azabu - Juuban and met her lifelong friends. The four girls who truly accept all of her the way she is has become a dear treasure to her. It has helped her open up more and becomemore comfortable with herself.

She has several aspirations including being a baker and a florist. Besides that she hopes to find love. She i forever looking for the one, but feels like she may be alone forever.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Makoto posesses great strength and a very sturdy body. She is also really good at baking and learning to be good at flower arranging.

History: Makoto Kino's parents dies in a plane crash when she was very young. Rather than get shipped to an orphanage Makoto found ways of living on her own and taking care of herself. It was a lonely life though because her classmates were either afraid of her or thought she was a no-good hoodlum. As she got a bit older, she started getting kicked out of schools, usually because she stuck up for someone who was being bullied. She tried her very best to keep her nose down and not stand out, but it just seemed ill-fated to happen. When she was 14 she moved to Azabu - Juuban and enrolled in school there. At first she thought it would be the same thing but amazingly she found one person who not only noticed her feminine side but befriended her. Through Usagi she met three other great friends Ami, Rei, and Minako. It was thanks to them that she actually managed to stay in and graduate. She also found that she had a secret crush on the student that ran the Crown Arcade, but she could never bring herself to tell him.

She graduated, but she stayed put, living in the same apartment she had rented in school. Thanks to her friends' encouragement, she was making plans to try and open a flower shop, but she needed money. SO she worked hard during the day in whatever temporary jobs she could get while taking business and gardening classes at night. It was hard work but little by little her knowledge and her savings grew. She still kept in touch with the girls, though each was starting out on their own lives. But all that was soon to change. There had been stories of the kaiju attack on California, but coming from so far away it seemed unreal and was quickly forgotten. But then more attacks happened.

Makoto will never forget the day the kaiju hit Japan. She was walking home at night, just pasign the arcade when she heard the terrible sounds of breaking glass and screams. The heavy thuds of something big plodding down the street made her heart stop as she turned to look and came face to face with the most terrifying thing she had ever seen. Its mouth opened, revealing a pit of blue flames like a path to hell. The girl who always managed to get into fights was utterly frozen as the thing stepped on the arcade and it just came crumbling down. Debris rained down on her and she finally threw herself to the ground. It passed her by, and she could hear the motors of the Jaeger coming to engage it. But her eyes could only see one thing, the crushed "Crown Arcade" sign. Frantically she began pulling rubble away, using her strength to her advantage to free a few people who had been inside. But when she found Motoki she dropped to her knees. She was no medical genius like Ami but she tried and tried CPR, yelling his name and finally speaking her feelings for him into the night air. He was gone, and she had never told him. She spent the rest of the night checking up on her friends and it took some time for her to regoup and figure out how to move forward.

At first she volunteered with the local police and first aid groups to help at the scene of attacks, freeing people trapped in buildings and helping clear paths for paramedics. Her dreams she put on hold. All she wanted to do was help people and prevent more kids from being orphans or lovers being divided. She was angry, angry because this beast could do so much to wreck so many lives and wreak so much sadness. Makoto decided to dedicate her life to doing anything she could to help. She thought it would come as a surprise to her friends when she told them she had decided to enter the Ranger pilot program, but to her surprise they had been considering it also. Even gentle Ami would be with them. She did not know if she would be pilot material, but strong willed Makoto was sure going to try.
Other Noteworthy Facts: Favorite flower is the rose. Favorite color is green, and her favorite sport is ice skating.

RP Sample: Makoto had never heard a sound so hideous. It was a primal cry accompanied by screams and the shattering of glass. It was close and coming fast, trailed by the sound of carnage. "K-kaiju!" she managed to stammer, turning around just in time to stare the beast right in the eye. It opened its mouth and her gaze fell into a deep blue inferno. She could not move. Her brain scremed at her to run but she was a wide-eyed statue. And then it was on top of her, its large scaly feet stepping down onto the Crown Parlor's roof. The building crumbled like paper, raining plaster and brick down around her. Her breath was fast and shallow, her heart racing. Finally, as if in slow motion, her body began to respond to her mind's commands and she threw herself to the ground, covering her head.

Finally there were sirens and the sound of a responding Jaeger but her gaze was fixed on the Crown's sign hanging limply from the last standing pillar. Muffled cries from under the wreckage reached her and she crawled towards the rubble. Sweat beading her brow she pulled away chunk after chunk of debris. Filled with adrenaline she worked tirelessly though her fingers began to bleed. Finally others came to help and between them they freed three customers. Furuhata-san! She knew he was in there somewhere. When she found him trapped under a beam she knew it was bad. Using all her strength she got the metal beam off of him and knelt down besides him, calling his name.

Her vision narrowed. She was unaware of anything else around her as she desperately tried what Ami had taought her about CPR, not even knowing if she were doing it right. The brunette refused to give up. I never told him, not even after I graduated... Hands gently tried to pry her away after what seemed like hours. Her arms were numb and her vision blurry with tears. She did not know if it was for all the death that she saw around her, or if it was for Motoki, or maybe for herself for what she could have had but now lost. "Motoki-san...I think I loved you..." she whispered as they pulled her away.
