Character Name: Medeina Zvoruna
– Name Meaning: Medeina is the Lithuanian (Baltic) goddess of forests, trees, and animals. Medeina derives from medis and/or mede, meaning “tree” or “forest”. Zvoruna is  another name of the goddess Medeina, derived from zveris, meaning “beast”. Thus, her name can basically be translated to “forest beast”.

Appearance:


Meda stands at 5 feet, 6 inches and has a svelte, feminine figure. Her long hair falls in life waves to her lower back with wavy, sideswept bangs. It is a deep strawberry blonde—almost raspberry pink in color. She usually pins it back, so it is out of her face, though there are a few fly-aways around her ears. Her eyes are a bright, emeraldine blue. Her skin is sun-kissed tan.

On Zoolean, she typically dresses in an emerald-green gown. With golden accessories. Her headdress is comprised of gold beading and a star that rests at her hairline near the center of her forehead. The Zoolean Menagerie Crystal is worn as a brooch on her gown. A large sheer emerald bow is at the back of her dress with large ribbons trailing from it.

As a civilian, Meda tends to favour green and gold hues over any other color.

Personality:
Meda is a creative individual and enjoys singing, sketching, and painting. She draws her inspiration from the world around her, particularly the animals native to her planet and the magic they produce. Meda has a great respect for animal life and feels particularly proud to hail from a planet where magical animals are the norm. To some degree, she secretly feels jealous of other senshi who are capable of producing magic of their own, though she'd never admit it.

Motivated and enthusiastic, Meda is always trying to improve herself as a princess and warrior. But sometimes she gets a little too far ahead of herself, especially in battle. When she feels that she has the upper hand in the fight, she becomes a little overconfident and reckless. She often times is rather short-sighted, not seeing how her current actions could impact the future. She also has a tendency to be rather petty when things don't turn out the way she expects them. She can be quite mopey until she finds something new to distract her.

Meda is sociable and witty—and can be quite charming, but with her witty tongue comes a, sometimes, rather unattractive trait: sarcasm. It wouldn't be so bothersome if she wasn't excessive in her sarcasm, but the poor girl doesn't always know when to stop. She also enjoys hearing and talking about the latest gossip. She's especially fond of the gossipy nature of Earthlings and had a subscription to all of the gossip magazines.

History: Medeina is the princess of her planet, Zoolean, and was raised as the heir to the Zoolean throne. Zoolean is a planet where magic is part of everyday life in which Zoolean humanoids bond with magic-controlling animals. Zoolean humanoids are capable of establishing a bond with the animal and train to direct the animal’s power. Medeina is unique due to her Sailor Crystal. Where most Zooleans bond with only one animal, Medeina has been able to bond with three: a lightning/tiger type, a wind/eagle type, and a turtle/water type.

When her planet was threatened by a strange energy that was causing animals to attack children, Medeina transformed into Sailor Zoolean. She learned that she could not only direct her animals in this form but also summon them to fight with her. Now she must fulfill the duties of the future monarch of her planet and the duties of a sailor soldier. She sometimes finds it challenging to fulfill both roles, especially when she must leave her home planet to help defend her planetary system.

Starting from her head, Sailor Zoolean sports the same gold-corded headdress that she wears on Zoolean. As Sailor Zoolean, an emerald appears dangling from her headdress. She keeps her gold hoop earrings and sports a green choker with gold beading. Her fuku's primary color is a lush forest-green with gold accents. The wingéd Zoolean Menagerie Crystal is worn as a brooch on the center of her chest and an emerald marking the transition of her bodice to her skirt. Her shoulder guards, gloves, and back bow are a translucent mossy green. She sports forest-green, heeled boots that come just below her knee, each boot embellished with an emerald set in gold at the top.

Powers:
– “Creature Strike, [Creature's Name]!” is an offensive attack in which Zoolean summons a creature to fight.
– “Beast Resist, [Creature's Name]!” is a defensive attack in which Zoolean summons a creature to block or absorb an attack.

**Currently, Sailor Zoolean can only summon creatures relating to lightning, wind, and water. As she grows in her abilities, she will later be able to summon creatures relating to other elemental spheres (e.g., earth, plants, and fire).**
**Zoolean can summon up to two animals during a battle. However, if two creatures are assisting her, the one that was summoned to attack can only attack and the other that was summoned to defend can only defend.**

Weapons or Magical Items:
Zoolean Menagerie Crystal allows Meda to transform into Sailor Zoolean. It is also the source of Meda's ability to bond with multiple magical creatures. On Zoolean, Meda wears the crystal as winged star brooch, but the crystal has the ability to take on the appearance of a necklace charm, if Meda so wishes it.

Meda sighed as she stared out the window of her hotel. This was just perfect! Her first day on Tokyo and she couldn't even go outside because it was raining. The teenager pouted, her breath fogging up the window. She had been looking forward to seeing the sights in Tokyo—Tokyo Tower, all of the shrines, the cat cafes…! What a disappointment.

“Jurata,” the girl began plaintively. “Can't you do anything about this rain?”

The turtle-like creature, who lounged on one of the pillows that her mistress had tossed on the floor, looked at her salmon-haired princess. “I suppose –”

“Absolutely not!” Lauma, a large raptor-like bird, squawked.

Perkunas, a tiger-like creature, who was lounging on Meda's bed nodded sagaciously. “We cannot interfere with the natural workings of this world, Princess.”

“I know,” Meda sighed. “It's just disappointing. I had so much planned to do today! And now I can't do anything,” she finished with a pout.

“Have you gone downstairs to the shop? I saw some magazines when we passed by,” Jurata mentioned casually.

“You did?!” Meda and Lauma chirped in unison. The Princess and the bird looked at each other, a certain mischievous glint in their eyes.

“Let's go, Lauma!” the girl grinned.

“Yes, let's!” the bird concurred, flapping its wings eagerly. The large bird transformed into what looked like some kind of small bird plush from a fantasy game.

Meda caught the plush as it launched towards her arms. She carefully tucked it under one of her arms. “We'll be back in a jiffy!” she called back to the other two creatures as she rushed out the door.

Perkunas regarded Jurata and sighed. “You just had to mention the magazines, didn't you?”
