Personality: Persistent. Curious. Resourceful. Clever. Obsessive. Suspicious.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Deduction comes easily to her

History: Bernice lives on a world heavily inspired by Steam Punk. She lives in a nice nuclear family, with a little brother and older sister, and goes to school like everyone else, learning science, mathematics, history, and their language primarily, but in her off-hours she likes to look into cryptography. She is intensely interested in being a detective, and oftentimes gets her nose stuck in situations she has no right to be in as a 15-year-old, but if they're not going to get to the bottom of this, she will!

She made a few devices to help her along - her spectroscopic analysis magnifying glass, her blood-type-test kit, and her older sister made her metallic wings to get her out of tricky situations. ...they're still a prototype though, and tend to malfunction at the worst time...

Bernice has yet to transform into Sailor Baretta, but when she does it will need to be in a very tight situation indeed...
Other Noteworthy Facts: Bernice is known by the police department, and while she receives a thorough talking-to whenever they catch her at the scene of a crime doing her own investigation, they've given up on telling her not to get involved. She and one of their detectives, an older gentlemen, have a (grudging, on his part) mentor/mentee relationship, and she had once been used as a hostage against him.

She also has a pet Cockatoo - Fred - who has the uncanny ability to point out something Bernice has missed in her investigations.

Storyline Specific Information: Permission granted to use Bernice separate from Sailor Baretta as a civilian!

Baretta Suspect Retention! When fired at an enemy, the enemy is frozen in place and forced to put their hands above their heads. (Freeze! Stick 'em up!)

Baretta Guilt Ray! When fired at an enemy, if the enemy is guilty of anything illegal, they will glow red and start to feel that immense guilt in the pit of their stomach, and be unable to think of anything but what they've done wrong. They typically end curled up in a ball on the floor.

Baretta Cover Fire! When fired, several paralysis beams fly up and into the air, to strike the field beyond to cover any friendly targets as they move. Non lethal.

Weapons or Magical Items: Her magnifying glass takes on new abilities - it can see into the past of the suspect it focuses on to see where they were at a certain point in time.

*I changed her senshi image; the last one didn't fit and I thought up a better theme for that one so she'll probably pop up soon with another profile xD

History:

The planet Amarachius is, to its ordinary citizens, generally peaceful and nothing much of note. The world is connected, every piece of land discovered and claimed by some society or another, their technology having advanced through war and peace; there hasn't been a great war in some time, and the world powers endeavor to keep it that way. Through science and innovation, life expectancy is growing and, with that, politics are always swaying this way and that as the people struggle to continue moving forward without forgetting the past...

Luckily for them, there are some who cannot let the past be forgotten, and fight to keep their world safe in ways that ordinary citizens cannot fathom in their darkest nightmares.

For beneath the city streets and the facades of old towns lie creatures as old as the planet itself, and not all of them are content to remain in their separate world of earth and stone, living off the scraps of the above world; they wish to be released out into the open, never having to hide again or fear what may happen should they surface - the only problem? They feed off the living. These malcontent creatures of darkness haunt the world by night, causing mysterious disappearances, horrifying deaths, or, if they are left to their own long enough, merciless massacres. Luckily for the humans of this world, they have a force that fights back.

This elite group of warriors have not forgotten their past, or the great wars between their people and the creatures below. Through study of ancient texts and old-world warrior training, they combat the creatures of darkness with artifacts that can harm them. Of these, a select few who have proven themselves to the cause and perform a ceremony that involves a quest to an ancient hold high in the mountains to fetch water from a single spring and fruit grown only in that area; when they return, they undergo days of meditation as elders of this group tattoo their backs with sacred symbols. As the ceremony ends, if the powers that be accept the warrior as he or she is, they are granted temporary use of Wings, ancient appendages that had disappeared from their race long ago. These wings give them many advantages over the creatures of below, and can be summoned or dismissed at will, but the tattoos remain.

William was born into this world, and, unfortunately, was inducted into this secret society rather quickly in life. His father had been part of them, and had died when William was very young, having been betrayed by a friend and falling during the resulting ambush. William and his mother were protected and provided for by the fellowship, but William, at age 12, decided he needed to join when a classmate's mother went missing mysteriously. He was not on the mission that recovered her, but he was put into training.

His first mission, at age 16, ended up cementing his involvement with this group forever, as, when he dove in front of a friend to protect them, he transformed into the senshi of his planet - Amarachius Sworn - and through the odd powers granted by his sword, was able to dismiss the creature without killing it. Though his predecessor had been unseen for hundreds of years, the group figured out what he was and what that meant and took him deeper into their trust, grooming him to be a future leader, as the texts told that the last of his kind had been able to stop the war for more than a hundred years with their actions.

Other Noteworthy Facts:

Liked school; his favorite subject was math, but he paid the most attention in ancient history.
He is able to summon and use his wings without having gone through the ancient ceremony due to his being the senshi of his planet. Some of the order revere him as being one of the Old Race reborn, but he prefers being seen as an equal.
The planet Amarachius is similar to Earth in the late 20th century
The planet Amarachius has not had contact with alien lifeforms.
The creatures below are not Chaos monsters. The worst of them have been infected by Chaos, but they are not, at their base, Chaotic.

Storyline Specific Information:

HC Event: Concatenation series - Conscription: While patrolling the streets at night, Amarachius Sworn is approached by a mysterious woman who informs him that he has been conscripted to fight in a Chaos War. Despite his protest, he quickly finds through a show of force that he has no choice in this matter, but in the scuffle he uses his Tempus Veritas power and learns the truth of the dire situation of his part of the Galaxy. While he has technically been conscripted, he decides to cooperate from that moment forward, knowing that this "Sailor Jin" did what she did out of necessity, and that he is more needed elsewhere than his own world, at that moment. He leaves Amarachius safely in the hands of his people, and leaves with her to save another world.

Tempus Veritas - When threatening an opponent with is sword (the blade must be touching the target), Amarachius uses this phrase and his opponent is forced to see and/or tell the truth. They can be forced to reveal their motives, else face those motives and see the reasoning behind them should they be false. It makes them face their reality in a way that they cannot avoid.
Eleutheria - Hand facing towards the target, Amarachius utters this phase and can free the target from enslavement (brain washing) or any fear associated with leaving an unpleasant situation. It allows the target the freedom to be freed.

Weapons or Magical Items:

Amarachius Crystal - the Sailor Crystal of the planet Amarachius; inert within him at this point, not a physical item.
Amarachius Sword - a blade that glows white when in the presence of Chaotic beings or allies of Chaos
Amarachius Shield - a shield that can repel mental as well as physical attacks.
